Harassment
Please note that it is not acceptable to receive reminder phone calls four days prior to payday regarding payment on my Discovery account, particularly one which has already been cancelled. I would also like to place on record my dissatisfaction with the requirement to repay funds that originated from my own savings contributions. Notwithstanding this concern, I have continued to meet my payment obligations and have made payments prior to receiving these calls. While I acknowledge your right to contact me regarding my account, the frequency and timing of these calls—despite payments being made timeously—are excessive and unwarranted. This conduct is beginning to border on harassment and ************, and I will treat it as such should it continue. Accordingly, I request that these reminder calls cease immediately, provided payments continue to be made as agreed. Should I receive any further calls of this nature, I will have no option but to formally log a complaint for harassment and ************. Please confirm in writing that this request has been noted and that appropriate action will be taken.

Formal Complaint - Ford Consolidated Auto
We were scheduled to book our vehicle in for a service on 23 April 2026 at Ford Consolidated Auto, a dealership we have previously used for servicing. During our prior visit, we experienced a significant administrative issue where the dealership did not have our underwriter, MySure, loaded on their system. As a result, the dealership was unable to finalise authorisation timeously, and we were forced to pay cash in order to retrieve our vehicle. At the conclusion of that previous service, we were expressly advised by the dealership that MySure had subsequently been loaded onto their system and that this issue would not recur in the future. Based on this assurance, we proceeded with confidence to make the booking for the above-mentioned service date. However, despite the prior undertaking given to us, we were informed at approximately 11:00 on 23 April 2026 that MySure was once again not reflected on their system. We were further advised that should the service proceed without authorisation, our vehicle would only be returned the following week, once authorisation had been obtained. This was completely unacceptable. During the previous incident, when we were compelled to pay cash for the service (in excess of R4,500), it took approximately two weeks for the dealership to refund us. In light of this history, it is unreasonable and unacceptable for the dealership to expect us to once again absorb the consequences of their internal administrative failures. As a result, my wife had no option but to return to the dealership and collect the vehicle without the service being completed. Throughout this experience, the response from dealership staff was limited to repeated apologies, with no meaningful effort made to rectify the situation, provide alternative solutions, or demonstrate any sense of accountability. The general attitude conveyed was dismissive and indifferent to the inconvenience and distress caused to us as customers. Of particular concern is the impact this incident had on my wife’s wellbeing. She suffers from anxiety, and the stress of this situation resulted in her becoming physically unwell to the extent that she had to ask the driver to stop en route to the dealer so that she could vomit. This experience has had a direct and serious impact on her health and has left us with an extremely negative impression of the dealership. The level of customer service exhibited by Ford Consolidated Auto on this occasion is, in my view, wholly unacceptable and deeply disappointing. As customers who have owned and serviced several vehicles under service plans, this being our first experience with Ford vehicles and Ford dealerships, it is extremely concerning that this is the standard of service encountered. The lack of care, ownership, and customer focus is shocking. I work within the motor industry and oversee relationships with multiple large clients and service centres. From a professional and industry perspective, the conduct displayed by this dealership is entirely unacceptable. In light of the above, I will not recommend this dealership to anyone, and I will be formally lodging this matter with MIOSA for further investigation. This experience has left a bitter and lasting impression and reflects extremely poorly on the brand and its representatives.

Fnb and the case of the missing debit card
So where do i begin. My new card was ordered in december. Its february now..guess who still doesnt have a new card. Firstly my card expires leaving me in the store not able to pay. I had to leave everything there in front of a bunch of people. Then 10 minutes later i phone fnb ro complain about my new card not arriving and i was also told that they can see the card was ordered. And that i have to wait 3 to 5 business day. Surprise after its been 2 months already. Then fast forward to thursday i had to buy some things for an operation i was supposed to have and guess what, there was no fnb atm and the pharmacy dont do scan to pay. So i had to leave those items there. So now its impacting my livelyhood. I escalated again only for ccd couriers to tell me they will deliver in 3 to 5 business days?! Again!! So not only was 2 months long enough, i am being held ransom by a courier company for my card. Fnb can thank their courier and their staff that "escalated" it to no avail for me going to close this account soon. We have a shared account me and the fiance and a home bond with fnb and a vehicle with wesbank. And this is the service we receive?! We pay for private banking fees but it takes them 2 months to deliver a card?! And then they want to use the excuse that my old number is on the system?! I ve had my current number for 4 years. The private banker phones me on this number, i get all the fnb promos on this number. This number is used for authentication...but they dont have it. Strange how that works.

Ooba insure
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the handling and rejection of two insurance claims submitted by myself within the past two years. Despite being a loyal client, paying substantial premiums without objection, I have been met with repeated refusals from Ooba Insure, with each claim dismissed on the basis of policy clauses and technicalities. This has left me with no choice but to escalate the matter to the National Financial Ombud (NFO SA). Over the last three years, we have paid approximately R70,000 in premiums. This amount is considerably higher than average due to the fact that we have a thatch roof, which understandably carries a greater risk profile. However, despite our commitment and continued payment of increased premiums, both of our claims – amounting to a combined value of around R25,000 – were rejected. What concerns me most is that while Ooba Insure readily increases premiums, there appears to be significant reluctance to honour legitimate claims, especially when the amounts exceed your comfort threshold. The pattern of declining claims by pointing to selective clauses and wording suggests a tendency to seek “escape routes” rather than provide the cover we have paid for. When your assessor initially visited our property, we were advised that we needed to remove four trees situated too close to the house. We acted immediately, at our own expense of R9,000, to meet this requirement. We additionally installed fire extinguishers as per the recommendations. We comp**** with every instruction given, in good faith, expecting that Ooba Insure would reciprocate with fair and reasonable support. Despite our compliance, not a single claim has been approved: Gate Motor Claim Our gate motor was damaged, and after receiving no assistance from the insurer, we were forced to replace it ourselves at a cost of R12,000. Roof Leak Claim Following the recent severe storms, we reported a roof leak. Once again, the claim was rejected—this time on the basis that it was classified as a “maintenance issue,” according to your investigator. Given the violent weather conditions, this explanation appears unreasonable and dismissive of the circumstances. It is extremely concerning that we are required to spend significant amounts of money to adhere to Ooba Insure’s compliance requirements, yet when we genuinely need support, we are met with resistance. This creates the impression that the insurer expects full adherence from clients but does not provide the same level of commitment in return. We have invested heavily in our home, our compliance, and our premiums. The ongoing denial of claims has placed an unfair financial burden on us and eroded our confidence in Ooba Insure’s willingness to honour the policy we are paying for.

Dissapointed and disgusted
When we decided to go on our house buying journey myself and my fiance decided to go with Ooba. We received amazing service from Nadia, and everything went without a hitch. We decided to go with ooba building insurance,i mean if theyre bond department is that good imagine their insurance department. A year and 5 months down the line we have our first claim, a broken gate motor. We decide to claim for the motor,to find out they only cover R2000. Okay, that would still help with buying a new motor. Put the claim in,get the electrician out. Submit everything, only to be told our motor is to old and they wont help!? I mean thats ridiculous, we pay ooba insure 1800 a month, and they squirm to pay that out!? I spent 12k on a new motor and they can barely pay 2K. This was our first claim, with our new insurer and its declined. Imagine how we must now feel if they decline such a small amount what happens when we have a big claim. Mind you, we did everything expected from them, trimmed trees close to the house, got 2 coc companies out to come and check everything. All of that cost a small fortune, just for them to come back and deny a 2k claim. Our first experience is horrible, we have no confidence in our insurer anymore. When we were with old mutual they always replaced and fixed without any questions asked, how i wish i never changed that. I will be cancelling this policy soon.
