I am honestly at a loss for words when it comes to Vodacom Fibre’s service. I had no internet connection for two full months — with zero accountability, no urgency, and no real solution from Vodacom. After being left stranded for that long, I cancelled my line. But the nightmare didn’t end there. Vodacom has STILL not released the ONT, and this is now blocking my new service provider from activating my fibre. They said my issue would be contacted within 24- 48 hrs - guess what its now 336 hours. In other words, Vodacom is effectively holding me hostage, even after I’ve cancelled. How is this acceptable? This level of incompetence and disregard for customers is shocking. Access to internet is not a luxury (in case it is believed so) — it’s essential for work, communication, and daily life. Vodacom has disrupted all of that and continues to do so. There is absolutely no justification for the delay in releasing the ONT. They are so quick when it comes to taking fees but fail to provide the service for the fees we are paying. This has been one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. I would strongly caution anyone considering Vodacom Fibre.
I received 5-star support from Ali Tshenolo Kubayi, and I realised there are positive reviews about him here already on Hello Peter. Customer service was par excellence, and I hope Discovery takes it upon themselves to reward such associates because they make the customer experience worthwhile. He would be a worthwhile contender for a customer excellence managerial role because he does his job well. Ali, if you get to read this review, I want to say thank you for the attention to detail and the way you serve. You are a humble and kind person. Ngiyabonga!
I had a Retirement Annuity (RA) with Sanlam, and I requested a payment holiday due to significant divorce expenses. Unfortunately, there was an error with the holiday period, but amidst everything I was dealing with, I didn’t catch it. Later, I was informed that my RA was considered paid up, so I reached out to resume payments, as my financial situation had improved. It’s disappointing that large companies like Sanlam sometimes lack empathy and approach these situations in a strictly business-as-usual way. I’m now in the process of transferring my RA to a company that will allow me to continue contributing. This is a reminder to big firms that life’s circumstances impact everyone, and flexible investment program rules would help people through these times. Companies risk becoming irrelevant when they fail to be understanding, and people will choose providers that show greater accommodation.
I can't praise Riverside Autobody enough! From the moment I brought my car in until the day I drove it home, the team was with me every step of the way. My car was one of many affected by the Midrand hail damage, so I expected the repair to take over two months. To my surprise, they restored it within the promised timeframe, and their honesty throughout the process was truly refreshing. A special shoutout to some amazing team members: Palesa, who was always available to address my concerns and guide me to the right person whenever needed; I never felt ignored. Matthew and his team worked wonders to bring my car back to life, and Adele—an absolute gem—was incredible at coordinating parts and other essential details. I firmly believe that kindness begets kindness, and the warmth and professionalism I received from the Riverside Autobody team were beyond exceptional. Thank you to the entire management for assembling such a brilliant team that genuinely cares for its customers. Kudos to all of you!
I got divorced in September 2023 and am waiting for claim to be processed by AFDO and no one responds at all to emails. I can't make any concrete decisions regarding my kids and I because I have no idea when and if they will respond. I feel stuck and frustrated, especially thinking about my children. No care about court orders or directives atleast a response would be appreciated but they leave you in limbo.
