I’ve had nothing but trouble with Discovery Bank over the last three weeks. On November 23rd, I made a purchase on Takealot for R500, using 4,500 of my Discovery Miles. However, the order was canceled the same day, yet Discovery still took my miles. Since then, I’ve been trying to resolve the issue, but it’s been nothing but a nightmare. I’ve been calling Discovery since November 25th, speaking to multiple consultants who simply provide me with reference numbers and vague promises that they’ll get back to me within 1 or 2 days. Yet, despite my consistent follow-ups, no one has contacted me. Every time I call, I’m told the same thing. When I questioned one consultant about their repeated failure to follow up, she told me it was “my issue” and that I should just keep calling them every week for updates. I found that response to be incredibly unprofessional. This entire experience has been frustrating, unproductive, and disheartening. I even provided them with proof of the canceled order, yet still, no action has been taken. It’s now December 11th, nearly three weeks since I raised the issue, and I’ve received zero meaningful updates. Every time I’m told someone will call me back, they don’t. The last consultant even told me "I'm going on my lunch break now , but I promise I will phone you back before 11 but if I haven't phoned you, then you just need to phone me back" Results were the same they went on lunch and never phoned me back. It’s clear to me that Discovery Bank does not value its customers or provide effective customer support. I’m beyond disappointed and will seriously reconsider my relationship with this bank going forward.
I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Vodacom and felt compelled to share. I decided to upgrade online on the last day of their Black Friday deal, filling in all my details and receiving OTPs and confirmation SMSs. The message I received said that Vodacom would be in contact within 72 hours to confirm the deal. Vodacom did call, but the phone rang for only 2 seconds, making it impossible for me to answer. The next day, I got another call, only to be told that my upgrade was canceled because I didn’t answer the phone the first time. This was despite their message clearly stating I had 72 hours to confirm the offer. The consultant who called was extremely rude, blaming me for the entire situation, saying it was my fault for not answering the phone. When I explained that the conversation was making me uncomfortable, she continued to berate me, calling me rude and insisting it was my fault. Eventually, I had to end the call because it wasn’t going anywhere. I spent the whole weekend trying to contact Vodacom to resolve this issue, but no one seemed to know what was going on. I was constantly referred to different departments with no actual solution. Eventually, I was told that even though I completed the application and submitted all the documents on the last day of the deal, if Vodacom doesn’t process it in time, the deal expires. They said, "It's the customer’s responsibility to follow up because we want the deal, not them." After speaking with multiple agents who couldn’t help, we’ve decided to cancel our contracts with Vodacom. I would never recommend anyone use their services. The lack of accountability, poor customer service, and disrespectful behavior from their consultants has been enough for me to move on to a different provider.
They have the worst customers service that I have ever encountered. They are rude and useless. I've been phoning them for 2 week now regarding helping me with my discovery miles, and they truly don't care about you as a customer at all.
We came for the Burger special on Monday the 18th Of November 2024 and when we arrived at 7pm they told sorry we are full you need to book next time. The following week 25 of November we booked in advance for the Monday special. We arrived on time for our reservation, however when we got there they told us " sorry there are other people at your table" and made us wait for 20 minutes and still no service, so we ended up just leaving. So either way you don't get any service at this restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
On Sunday 1st September 2024, I ordered from Ocean Basket Blouberg. My order total was R282,50 the driver collected my food and then canceled my order "because he couldn't find my house". So he left with my food and they still charged me for it. Mr Delivery has not refunded me after numerous emails. Their service is terrible and they take the food that you ordered. So you basically pay for their food.
