Stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea with Vumatel and its ISPs. I bought a new flat and arranged for fibre through Afrihost, only to discover that the previous ISP - Web Africa refuses to release the line. My router has been delivered three weeks ago but it is sitting useless and I am getting excuse after excuse from Afrihost as Vumatel apparently couldn’t be bothered to take their own line back. Dreadfully poor service - rather stick with cellular.
Placed order 51026 yesterday and made payment- I got no confirmation email from them and there is no response to follow up emails or Facebook messenger messages- I phoned but I just stay in a holding queue. I fear I have been ****med.
I had a hopeless logistics experience with them - whilst I understand that orders under lock down can cause huge logistical issues the delays in getting things done by Port2Port is just mindblowing. I ordered wine from other merchants which were delivered within 3 days from lockdown. This particular Merchant had almost 6000 orders to deal with but managed to get it done within 3 days. I had two items on order. For both I got emails that the goods have shipped within 4 days of the end of alcohol lockdown. The facts are that the one order has not even been collected from the wine farm 7 days after the shipment record was created. How on earth Port2Port can confirm to me that shipment took place under these circumstances smacks of blatant dishonesty. For the other order I got a call from the courier looking for my address in Somerset West, whilst I live in Paarl, and it is reflected as such in my account at Port2Port. Still Port2Port insists on using the same useless couriers.
Almost 4 weeks later and no joy in opening account - no feedback, no interest in getting things sorted. If this bank survives till the end of 2020 it will be a miracle.
I have been using Europcar consistently for a number of years but I must be honest my latest experience with them means I will definitely not deal with them again. I phoned to book a vehicle for collection at Wonderboom airport because I needed to make sure that I get a vehicle that can accommodate 5 persons - 3 adults and 2 children. This requirement was made very clear to the lady I spoke to. I was then asked whether a Toyota Corolla would be fine and as I rented a smaller Toyota the previous week which could easily seat 5 I said that this would be fine. However when I arrived at Wonderboom I was presented with a VW Polo Vivo, which must have the smallest cabin for a four door car on the market. It did not have a headrest for a fifth passenger and it also only had a lap belt for the fifth passenger and not a proper full seatbelt, making it clear that the manufacturer did not intend for this vehicle to carry five passenger unless in an absolute emergency. When I enquired about this I was told that the Polo is in the same class as the Toyota and that is it. There was little interest shown in my predicament leaving me to drive more than 300km's with a vehicle not suitable and not safe for my needs. By the way the cars fuel gauge seem to be broken as after having driven 300km's the fuel gauge still read full! I phoned the number on the key for emergencies to check on this but despite numerous attemps the phone would disconnect after only one ring. The car had almost 40 000km's on the clock and the drivers sun visor was absolutely filthy dirty making we wonder if this car had not been retired or retained as a pool car and only given to me because nothing else was available! The booking reference was ********** 62
I purchased two vehicle value reports about a week ago. In both cases nothing was received from them. I phoned them last week Monday and they indicated that they are having problems but will resolve in 72 hours. By Friday nothing has happened so I phoned again. They indicated that they are still having issues but will communicate by Friday afternoon. Suffice to say nothing happened. They simply do not care.
