Beware of buying from private sellers. You can find that you purchase an item which works for acfew days and then stops working. By that time the return warranty has expired. I think a significant risk for you that is not worth taking. Use a reputable platform.
DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE WEBSITE. MIKE FROM APPLIANCE DOCTOR CAME TO MY HOUSE FOR A FRIDGE REPAIR IN MAY 2025. THEY HAVE A SLICK OPERATION OF BILLING, PROMISING TO RETURN, NEVER FINISHING THE JOB AND BLOCKING YOUR PHONE NUMBER . BEWARE, RATHER GO DIRECTLY TO THE APPLIANCE AGENTS. YOU HAVE PEACE OF MIND DEALING WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY.
BEWARE : THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR PART FOUR- After numerous promises from THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR and Mike, the technician, that they have ordered and are waiting for "parts". I have to accept that this is their tried and proven strategy. Do a repair, receive payment and when you advise that the repair is not working, you receive the same excuse. "what are we supposed to do, we have to wait for the parts" You never hear from them again. The office and technician work hand in hand. It is worth waiting the weekend and dealing with the Appliance Agency on a Monday.
BEWARE : THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR - PART THREE I have now made several attempts by phone and email and received promises from THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR and Mike (Technician) to return with the 'parts' and complete the work on my Fridge, Nothing forethcoming. A lesson learnt is to look on 'HELLO PETER' for references on service providers. After my experience, I found numerous complaints of the same nature as mine regarding THE APPLIANCE DOCTOR. Where there is smoke there is fire.....better to avoid approaching them. They are very quick to promise and pass the blame around.
APPLIANCE DOCTOR : BEWARE - PART TWO After the report NOT RECOMMENDED on Hello Peter, they made a phone call questioning the service repair and asking for proof of payment. Vague enquiries on information that should be at hand. No further contact. The technician, Mike, has blocked my phone number. The repair was costly at R 4 980. After service responsibility is not there. Disappointing.
NOT RECOMMENDED The Technician (Mike) arrived and partly fixed the Fridge. He undertook to return. then said Appliance Doctor was ordering a part. That was the last we heard of him. Appliance Doctor have a phone number which is not answered and they do not respond to emails. Very slick avoidance from website to technician
