I have used several moving companies in the past and recently moved again, this time using Legends Removals as they had been recommended to me. However, it proved to be a very disappointing experience. In my experience, using an inventory to verify all items uploaded and off loaded, is essential. Legends do not use this type of control. As I started unpacking I realised that several items had not been off-loaded and I engaged with the owner about this. It was not resolved, and I concluded that my stuff had been ******. I have many paintings, framed and unframed, and some were too big for the boxes: so, I grouped them together in two boxes, standing up, for ease of carrying. At some point in noticed the staff having unpacked one of the boxes and when I enquired about it, was told that it made it easier for them to pack. Then, when off loaded, one of the boxes was almost empty and I assumed the pictures would be downloaded separately. However, many were missing. I am an amateur artist, and they even stole some of my unframed paintings. They miscalculated the load: they arrived with too small a truck and the move had to commence on a second day. The owner wanted it done on 4th March and I told him that I was being threatened by the new owners with occupational rent. So, he agreed to do it on the 3rd but it meant that I had to spend two days moving instead of one. Also, he then threatened to send me an invoice for staff wages for the 1st March. On my quote as well as email starting the process I made specific mention of two items, very precious to me, to be handled with extreme care. When the staff arrived, it was clear that they had not been briefed about this: I took this up with the owner later and he did not deny this. I took them 4 hours to load my property. I have never had to wait more than 90 minutes for the uploading of items. When they off loaded on the Sunday evening, 19.30, I was exhausted and I did look inside the truck. But the items must have been hidden under the blankets as I saw nothing. This leads me to conclude that this was a team effort. Contracting Legends Removals, in hindsight, was a huge mistake and I would definitely not recommend using them.
When moving, it is really important so choose a company that offers a professional service. They also would need to have sufficient controls in place to manage your risk of moving. I was recommended to use Legends Removals and unfortunately, had a very bad experience. When I raised my problem with the owner, he eventually got really rude and accusatory. A carry-on bag was ****** by his staff, and he blankly refused to accept it. A professional moving company works on an inventory against which items uploaded, and again off loaded, are controlled. This is not a control used by Legends. They rely on a camera in the truck, and since, according to the owner, he did not see a blue carry-on bag, it did not exist and by implication I was lying. They also did not calculate the load correctly. They arrived with a truck way too small, and it took them 4 hours to upload. I have moved many times and uploading seldom was more than 90 minutes. They had to come back a second day, I had been threatened by the new owners with occupational rent, and it was very inconvenient for me to spend two days moving instead of a half day, as it would have been with a more competent moving company. I definitely won’t recommend them.
In June 2025 I laid a complaint with the Tshwane SPCA about my neighbours' boerboel being tied to a chain 24 hours a day. An inspector went to the house, and provided the owner with guidelines. One of these are that he is to let the dog off the chain for a few hours every day. He only partially comp**** in terms of the length of the chain and a proper kennel etc and let the dog loose some days for a few weeks. I raised it with the NPCA, no change. I went to Tshwane and they referred it back to the SPCA. I spoke to the Ward Councillor who referred me back to the SPCA. Since October 2025 the dog was let off the chain twice and it now is February 2026. The SPCA Act 1993 mandates the SPCA "to prevent the ill-treatment of animals by promoting their good treatment by man". Similarly, the Tshwane Regulations specifically provides for protection of pets against ill treatment and unncessary confinement, including chaining. This poor dog barks, whimpers, jumps up against the wall, and I have to listen to her desparation almost daily. My neighbours complain that her faeces is not regularly collected and sometimes she is without water. Last week I again called the SPCA, they would have called me back, but nothing happened. I have always understood the SPCA's role to speak for animals who cannot speak for themselves. This is not right. They bend over backwards to accommodate the owner and allow ill treatment of the dog.
Duster Dollies has been cleaning my house since Sept 2024 and I am very pleased. Staff members are always friendly, and they really do an excellent job. The owners were prepared to adjust my services according to my requierements, which I appreciated.
I have had to make a change to my policy, and on a previous occasion needed assistance. In both instances the staff were very professional and helpful.
The arrogance of this School is going too far. Despite numerous, repeated complaints by neighbours since September 2023, and a prohibition notice served on them in March 2024 by the Tshwane Municipality, their highly disturbing loud music has now become almost a daily occurrence. Sometimes, even on Sundays, we are not spared the noise. And their attitude is that the neighbours just have to put up with it. I called them recently asking to turn down the music as I was about to start a meeting with participants from different countries. I was told that there was a guest singer and I should 'make another plan'. What sort of answer is that? The recent 10+ days constant noise will probably just be justified as the annual cricket event- but no, the disturbances and lack of consideration goes way beyond a single event. What example is the school setting to the children? If you are popular and big enough and have enough money, other people don't matter? You can do what you want and see what you can get away with? I have been living here for 13 years and in the last year it has just been getting progressively unbearable. Calling them or writing emails, is totally pointless as they simply don't care. They have an attitude of shut up and let us get on with what we do. If I had to decide where to send my child to school, I would certainly not choose a school where there is such blatant disregard for the law. Their website invites you to become part of a culture where a child is encouraged to become his/her best. Does that include values such as respect for others, if we as outsiders do not observe that? And what about Ethics? When I once called them, they were quick to point out that the noise level was within the Municipal Regulations: so, as long as they stick to what they think they can get away with, their conduct is acceptable? Yes, if it is every now and then, we as neighbours are prepared to allow some leeway but not for days on end – then it becomes a problem. And what is ********* is not necessarily *******. But, clearly, having this conversation with them will serve no purpose. I am sure they have a few attorneys on the school Board to advise them how far they can push things, that is why the staff member was so quick with her reply. We as property owners and the surrounding community do not think you are as smart as you conduct yourselves to be. You are just insensitive and arrogant.
I terminated my contract due to poor service and their unavailability in December. A security company not answering the phone? My attorney sent a letter explaining the reasons and stating my legal position. There was no formal response and they just proceeded to debit money from my account. I lodged a dispute with the bank in an effort to stop this but the bank explained that they use different codes to take the money. They keep on trying to take money from me. In my interpretation this is dishonest.
I have bought on-line from Yuppiechef a number of times and found their service consistently excellent.+
I bought the Canon G4411 printer in May 2022. I have had constant problems with the scanning function. The scan quality is not consistent, often poor on part of a document where I scan several pages, and it very often does not take 1 page at a time then I have to stand and page by page hold back pages so it does not take more than one page at a time. I had it serviced but the problem persist. Very disappointed.
