Very disappointed with my Canon printer and the service received. I bought this printer only two months ago, and from the beginning it has had the same issue: it prints for about two days, then suddenly stops printing completely. The only way to get it working again is to do an ink flush. After that it prints again for another day or two, and then the problem repeats itself. Because of the constant ink flushing, the ink that came with the printer — which was advertised to print around 6,000 copies — was completely finished within two months. I have already had to buy replacement ink, and those bottles are already halfway finished because the printer constantly needs cleaning just to function. I sent the printer in for repairs and explained this clearly. Unfortunately, because I had already done an ink flush before sending it in, the printer was temporarily printing again when they tested it. I specifically asked them to properly test the printer over a longer period because the issue only appears after a day or two of printing. To make matters worse, I had to pay R500 just to send the printer in, even though this is clearly a manufacturer fault and not something caused by me. Then I received a repair quote of R1,600 for a printer still under warranty — when the printer itself only cost R1,800. Extremely frustrating experience. Poor product reliability and disappointing warranty support from Canon.

I have two Canon inkjet printers and they both work very well. My complaint is the availability of ink cartridges for the Pro 100S model. My local photographic shop has other customers wanting the same items. It is now probably four months since they had stock. They gave me the name and number of the Canon representative. He just makes promises, the last was the ink will be here by end December. He no longer answers my calls.

I purchased a Canon PIXMA G2410 printer on 7 January 2026 from HiFi Corporation. From the very start, this purchase has been a complete disaster. At the time of collection, no technician was available to assist with setup. I was sent home with a brand-new printer and zero support. When I attempted to set it up myself for the first time, the printer failed to connect and displayed an INK LEAKAGE ERROR. Let me be clear: 👉 This printer was never used 👉 This was initial setup 👉 The fault appeared out of the box I immediately returned the printer to HiFi Corp. Because it was under warranty, it was booked in for assessment and repair. Today, I was informed that: ❌ The printer cannot be repaired ❌ I allegedly “violated the warranty” ❌ I will not receive a repair ❌ I will not receive a replacement ❌ I will not even be given a quotation This is beyond unacceptable. How does a new printer develop ink leakage on first setup, and how is the customer then blamed? If this is how Canon products and HiFi Corp warranties work, the public deserves to know. This printer was bought for work purposes, yet I am now left with: • A defective product • No support • No resolution • No accountability This conduct directly contradicts the Consumer Protection Act, which protects consumers from defective goods and unfair warranty practices. Passing responsibility back to the customer for a manufacturing or out-of-box failure is unacceptable. I am formally demanding: ✔ A full replacement ✔ OR a full refund EXACTLY how I “violated” the warranty Until this is resolved, I will continue escalating this matter publicly and through the relevant consumer channels. Canon and HiFi Corp must do better. Consumers are not disposable.

I purchased the Canon PIXMA TS3440 from HIFI Corporation at Fourways Crossing on April 27, 2024. As a hybrid employer, I didn't use the printer extensively. However, when I needed assistance, I was disappointed to find that HIFI Corporation Fourways Crossing had closed down. Things took a turn for the worse when I visited HIFI Corporation Northgate, and they informed me that my printer had a 3-year warranty with Canon. I later discovered from Canon Head Office in Centurion that this information was incorrect. According to Jonathan Matthews, the 3-year warranty only applies to G-series, i-SENSYS, and MAXIFY models. Key Issues: - False Advertising: Both HIFI Corporation and Canon provided incorrect warranty information, leading to frustration and wasted time. - Warranty Clarification: The Canon PIXMA TS3440's warranty details are not clearly stated, causing confusion. If you're considering purchasing the Canon PIXMA TS3440 I would highly recommend purchasing a brand such a Samsung to not waste your time by using brands that don't even last for two or more. HIFI Corporation and Canon's warranty information have been disappointing. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and take necessary precautions.

I've bought two Canon Pixma printers. I gave the first one away and am ready to bin the second. Both literally brand new. The absolute hours I've lost in productivity I could have bought six. They've been an absolute nightmare to use. Setting up wi-fi and downloading drivers is beyond frustrating. If I wanted to connect to a cable, which I'm now going to go buy (I gave the one that came with the latest one away with the last one stupidly), I'd have bought a printer that only connects with one.

I have two Canon Maxify printers each just over a year old. Both failed their printer heads. One doesn't initialize the printer head and the other just prints cyan. I have checked the cartridge ports free and clean, even bought new cartridges. Same problem. How is it possible that these 2140 fail almost at the same time with the same issue yet is out of warrantee. Disgusted with Canon right now
