Never trust Vodacom!
Vodacom are fundamentally dishonest. We have tried for years to cancel a contract for a former employee, AND a contract that is for nothing - appears to be imaginary. Vodacom have refused to cancel these, and now claim that someone walked into two different vodacom shops and renewed the contracts. They can't or won't produce the paper work, and nobody had the authority to do that anyway. I advise everybody to never have any dealings with vodacom

Momentum doesn't care for clients
I've (unfortunately) been with Momentum for a number of years. But when you sign up with Momentum, you are on your own! I cannot get a single advisor to respond to me regarding investments. They also don't respond to requests for tax certificates. Be warned: When you go to Momentum, you aren't a client - you are just a number.

Vodacom refuses to end contract
I have been trying for more than a year to cancel a vodacom contract. In September 2025 we were promised telephonically that the last payment (for a number that hasn't existed for some years) would be in October. In December, Vodacom is still *******ly debiting our account. I would suggest that nobody EVER take out a Vodacom contract. They can't be trusted, and aren't interested in customer requests. Best to miss them altogether.

PAXI's big failure
PAXI was a great idea but doesn't follow through. If a parcel is lost, there is NO help available. Neither of the lines advertised is answered, and the Whatsapp is no help - IF somebody bothers to answer it. A pity, because it works well until it does not work.

We were let down by another company, and Display media came to our rescue. They made up a package of gazebo, fitted tablecloth and sharkfin banners in a couple of days to fit our deadline.

Shell V-Power - not much use.
On 3 April, I purchased R400 petrol at STEYNS GARAGE - Shell HERM**** WAY BOTRIVIER, Western Cape, 7185. The attendant refused the card, saying they are not really a Shell garage! How is one to know where the V-Power card is accepted, since they sell all the Shell products, wear Shell uniforms and the Garage has a Shell sign? I contacted Shell several times but nothing has come of it. IS the V-Power card worth it, since there seem to be pirate Shell garages?

Precision Rewinders rocks
Our borehole pump wasn't working after winter. GvD Rewinders T/A Precision Rewinders in Diep River was recommended to us. They fixed it, serviced it, put in a new bearing (it was very noisy) and even resprayed it so that it looked like new! I can heartily recommend them.

FNB skimming account
I would rate FNB as -100 star. The "service" is utterly appalling. We have apparent ***** on our account, but FNB has refused to answer queries. They keep deducting money for "Declined Forex transactions" But will never say what this is for. Evidently, it is a sort of skimming by FNB

Karcher vacuums: Fix it yourself and save money.
The filter on our Karcher vacuum became dislodged and the motor started to make a screaming noise. I took it to Karcher in Tableview and paid for an examination. It was returned as "beyond economical repair". I don't think it had even been opened. I took it home, opened it and vacuumed all the dirt out of the motor. Now it's fine. Why are allegedly trained service people unable to do that? Actually, looking at the overly complex structure of the unit, I can understand why they were reluctant to open it.
