Carol Bruce and her team assisted my mother and I with emptying out the flat of my deceased aunt who died suddenly. My mother and I were wondering how we were going to get the flat ready by the end of the month so we contacted a few services to see who could best help us. Carol of Moving On stood head and shoulders above the rest. We received the best offer from them. They came in, assessed the place quickly, taking a few photos and got back to us swiftly. They arrived punctually on a Friday and cleared out most of the flat. They arranged to come back again on Monday to get the rest. Carol even offered us a bonus for the rest of the goods, which we weren't expecting. It's not every day that people offer you more and go above and beyond but that is the service we received from Carol and her team. By Monday afternoon, they had removed everything from the flat and we were able to give the flat back to the landlord sooner than we expected. The service we got from Carol and her team at Moving On was better than I have ever experienced from any local business. They blew us away with their helpfulness and speed of service. They really were totally on the ball. If you need to move and have things to get rid of, I recommend you give Carol at Moving on a call. You can find her on google and Facebook.
I purchased anchor racking from Green Lane Gear via Takealot. On the box, that the equipment came in, they ask that customers contact them directly should they require any assistance. When I was assembling a rack, I discovered that the upright connectors did not fit. I requested replacements which also did not fit. I took photos of the problem and emailed them and explained the problem. They investigated and discovered they had been sent the wrong size parts but had located the right sized ones which they sent to me. These ones did fit. I thought their customer service was way above average, no arguing the toss, just straight to the solution. So if you do purchase from Green Lane Gear, you can expect very good customer support and helpful staff, which makes all the difference. I am a satisfied customer and the racks are awesome. I have 4 now with a 5th on order. They really are exactly what I needed and I did not know it until I got them.
I bought 3 items in one order to the value of approx. R3800. I used a coupon for R250 whose criteria was that I spend R1000. One item valued at R819 proved faulty, so I returned it. Takealot credited me R564 because they clawed their coupon back. However the remainder of the order which I had kept amounted to R2921 which means the coupon's criteria were still fulfilled and should not have been clawed back. As remedy, Takealot has offered me a R250 coupon not a credit as I requested and in order to use the coupon I must spend another R1000 by 7 July 2025, which means I will have to toss another R750 into their bank account against my will, by force, if I wish to keep what is rightfully mine. IOW they stole R250 from me and are saying if you want us to return our theft, you must give us more money. Despite explaining this situation to the customer servicel, they refuse to see reason and credit my account the R250 they stole from me. I think everyone should boycott Takealot and buy their stuff from amazon.co.za - my experience with them has had 1 hiccup so far, but they did rectify it eventually after a few weeks and they never bluntly refused to assist me like Takealot has. So just use amazon.co.za and let Takealot circle the drain and go bust. Between aliexpress.com, wish.com, amazon.co.za, amazon.com and a few other shops, you can drop using Takealot completely and save yourself a ton of frustration and anger. I am done using Takealot. I am cancelling my premium Takealotmore subscription for R99 a month. Yes, this is how they treat their "premium" customers.
On 2025-04-07 I purchased engine guards for my Suzuki v strom DS250 2024 model from https://allthegear.co.za/products/kappa-kn3116-engine-guards-for-suzuki-v-strom-250-17-21?_pos=1&_sid=e5f778a78&_ss=r I did not realise that these parts only fitted years 2017-21 because I did not understand what (17>21) in the title meant. On 5 June 2025 I was informed by my excellent mechanic (Andrew McCreadie) that the parts do not fit my motorcycle, so I asked All the Gear to either exchange the parts for those which do fit my bike or refund me. They have said they don't have parts for the 2024 model and they won't refund me claiming that I have made marks on the parts (which my mechanic denies) - they are in pristine condition. They've never been on any bike and they have been looked after. I warned JP of ATG that I would take legal action and the guy went bananas. He can barely speak English and threatened to sue me (which he can't do, since he actually owes me a refund, not the other way around). So if you want to save yourself the strife of dealing with the clowns from ATG who refuse to help a guy out who made a R3200 mistake of buying the wrong parts, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
Great shopping experience. I had to wait a bit for stock to come in, but their staff were a delight to deal with and were quick to inform me when their stock did arrive. Peachz sells a wide range of high quality accessories for cell phones. I'm so glad I found them because I've been buying flimsy plastic junk which breaks for years now.
This is not an actual company. They are s c a m m e r s. They somehow get details of a shipment you are expected - I don't know how, but it is unauthorised access of private information. They they constantly harass you for payment of duties which is entirely bogus. All monies collected go straight into their own pockets. I wish I knew who they were, but it is likely either some syndicate in Asia (China) or in South Africa or perhaps both. Do not pay them anything. They are not involved in delivering your parcel. They just managed to obtain info they should not have been able to and use that to trick people into giving them money. Do not get caught by them. I was not. I suspected them immediately and googled them and found all these negative reviews which saved my bacon otherwise I would be out of pocket like the rest of the victims complaining here.
Jason Wahl is the owner / operator of WMR Motorcycles. He is the best mechanic I've ever had. You can enjoy a nice chat with him while he fixes your bike. I had problems changing gears with two different bikes (an old Honda and a brand new Suzuki). The lever was angled wrong. He fixed the niggles I had with them with a couple of adjustments and totally changed my enjoyment of riding both bikes. , This had stumped other mechanics (or they didn't care). Jason's workshop is about an hour's drive from me, but it's worth the trip to get the right attention. I'm so glad I found him. May you be glad too!
The disqus comment moderation team at MyBB is ridiculous and irrational. They won't tolerate anyone poking fun at their articles. I wrote the following comment on a blog post: ~ ~ ~ URL: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/motoring/522809-electric-car-sales-record-shattered-in-south-africa.html COMMENT: "several models are now selling for below R1.5 million, making the fully electric option more accessible." How does a South African blog publish such a statement with a straight face? More accessible to whom? Is there a large group of journalists who woke up and realised they could now afford to spend R1 500 000 on an EV? In what reality am I living? Is this a computer simulation of South Africa where everyone is rich and having R1 500 000 is like having R100 for a combo meal and coke? There are many SAns who will earn less than R500 000 in 5 years of their working careers and spend all of it just surviving and even accumulating debt. It would take them more than 15 years of working (without spending a cent) to accumulate R1 500 000 and at the end of 15 years, the price may have doubled twice to R6 000 000. R1.5M is accessible only to a tiny fraction of the SA population. Most people can't afford to pony up the R300K to go off grid, but this blog thinks R1.5M is "accessible"? It must be nice living in La La land. ~ ~ ~ Can you imagine the enormous ego of the MyBB moderator that they decided the above comment needed to be removed? Not only that, but they placed my account on timeout for 7 days which means they decided I will not be allowed to comment on blog posts for 7 days due to their tetchiness. "Oh noes, someone made fun of our blog post! REMOVE IT! SUSPEND HIM!" How insecure does one have to be to have this kind of kneejerk reaction to a comment that poked mild fun at their journalist's ridiculous assertion that a R1.5 million electric vehicle was more affordable? Humourless, insecure, irrational, and infantile are adjectives I would attach to this kind of moderation policy.
I have bought from Takealot since they were Take2. In all that time ****il now), their customer service has been excellent. However, my last return (of a smartphone holder) was labelled by their "evaluation team" as "user abuse" and they declined to credit me the R200 I spent on it. The product has latex grips to hold the phone on a motorcycle. One stretches the latex to hold the corners. One of the latex grips snapped while putting the phone into the holder. This was not "user abuse", it was a latent defect and I should have been credited. This happened within the 6 month warranty period. I notice that this has become the norm now. Many other (negative) reviews on here show a massive trend of Takealot refusing to refund the junk they sell. This is the end for Takealot. The business is going to fold. Rather buy from an alternative such as wish.com or makro or bobshop or amazon (when it launches in 2024 locally). Do not become a victim of Takealot. They have gone rogue and you will be disappointed.
Every positive review is done by a shill (i.e. by the company itself). All positive reviews are **** reviews designed to lure you into doing business with this online ****. The con is simple: they hold out the promise of making money from home doing transcription work. But before you can get work, you must pay them for courses to learn how to do it, which is ridiculous. Transcription work is not rocket science - simply listen to audio and type what you hear. There is nothing to be taught. The courses are a complete ****. Also, the entire business model is a **** because there is software, such as Dragon dictate, which does transcription automatically and much faster than a human being. If you give these people money, you will never be refunded once you realise it is a ****. Do not be fooled.
