I am giving these Managing Agents 1 star, because there is no option for 0 stars. Extremely useless, unprofessional, and every other negative word you can find to describe them! I would discourage anyone from NOT using their services. They do not correspond or reply to queries and/or complaints, citing that they only take instructions from the Trustees. They also seem to favour dishonest Trustees over honest ones. Right from their PA, to Portfolio Manager to the head, they are all useless and full excuses at not giving any information, always pushing the buck on to another member of staff. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANAGING AGENTS, USE THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL. AS THEY SAY, PAY PEANUTS, GET ******S!!!!

So I ordered a premium model off takealot (sold by Grand Prix Models as GP Models on the site) and received a completely different item, a basic model that costs 1/3rd what I paid. I logged a return with takealot and then called Grand Prix Models. The lady that deals with online sales, assured me they sent the correct model and the mix up must have happened at the takealot warehouse. I accepted this excuse. A week later, I get the replacement item, and lo and behold, it is the same cheap basic model again. When we buy online, we buy based on the picture displayed, you cannot display a picture of a Toyota and send me a GWM (an anecdote), it does not work like that. Now I am trying to call them and their phone lines do not work. PATHETIC SERVICE!!!!!!!
Presently, THE WORST ONLINE SHOPPING SITE / ECOMMERCE SITE in South Africa today (9th June 2022): I ordered and paid for items last June 2021, and had to wait over 100 days for the items, which never arrived. I subsequently cancelled that ordered and reordered other items, paying in an extra amount. The above occurred for two more times, until in December 2021, which by then I had enough of their false promises. In January 2022, I asked for a full refund of my monies outstanding, which they took time to resolve. It took them two months to give me a refund via their PayFast partner. Because of the piecemeal payments for the 4 various orders, the 2nd amount they credited my account, and with me be wary of their intentions, I bought something of their site, which was IN STOCK, so I was guaranteed of delivery. The balance owing to me from the initial payment from last June 2021, they kept giving me the run around, ignoring my emails, phone calls and Facebook messages. First, in May they insist that PayFast refunded me, which was not the case, that was another refund that was processed by PayFast. The initial payment was processed by RARU. Finally on the 7th June 2022, 6 months after my request and 100s of emails and phone calls, I received my initial payment to RARU. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE EVER AGAIN AND IF YOU DO TAKE THE CHANCE OF ORDERING FROM THE, YOU RUN THE RISK OF NEVER EVER GETTING YOUR ITEMS AND BASICALLY GETTING THE RUN AROUND FOR YOUR REFUND!!!!
Over the last 8 months, I've had to cancel 3 orders due to non-delivery in over 100 days (80 days more than their stipulated time). Now I have a 4th order, which is also overdue by almost 20 days, and I can't get hold of the company. Calls for 4 days running have gone unanswered. Sent an email 4 days ago and I'm still awaiting a response. When they first started the e-Commerce site, they were very efficient as they were 3rd behind takealot and Loot. Now that they are the only site actively selling Movies, they have literally taken a high-handed approach to dealing with customers. All I want them to do is cancel my long over-due order, and credit my card with all the monies due to me. But it seems I have a better chance of extracting my own teeth than getting a hold of anyone from Raru. Not to mention, the lady that answers the helpline, is the most rudest and abrupt person ever. This was my last order with Raru, I rather buy direct from the UK than deal with these inept people, at least my order gets to me within 6 days. I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO USE THIS SITE FOR ANYTHING THAT SHOWS A LEAD TIME. BUY ONLY ITEMS THAT SHOW AS "IN STOCK" OTHERWISE YOU ARE IN FOR A VERY LONG WAIT.
Do not use MyUS.com shipping, as a forwarding company, they are hugely misleading in their adverts. They say they let you know when the parcels arrive, but they don't do this and instead go ahead and prepare a "ships request" without you even knowing it and checking what you received, is what you ordered from your supplier. They will prepare pro-forma invoices with items you do not want, and force you to pay up or you won't get your parcel. They also include Customs & Duties on their invoice at 10 times what you will pay in your local country. This is how they are making their money. They also consolidate your many parcels into one but will still charge you the initial weighed volume, so which means there is no saving on consolidation. My first parcel shipped with them was just thrown into a box with no care whatsoever, damaging many expensive items in the process, which they refused to accept responsibility (as I didn't have insurance on the box). Come on, the items were damaged, even way before it was shipped from their depot, and they have the gaul to say, I should have taken out insurance for shipping. Lastly, the customer service is pathetic, they will not go the extra mile to help you, but instead just keep quoting their terms and conditions, and just won't resolve any issue that you might have. Pathetic and useless are two words to describe their customer service department. You don't even have an email to complain to, as all they provide you with is a "no reply email address". DON'T SAY I NEVER WARN YOU ABOUT USING THIS COMPANY! 🤚
Always pathetic customer service by the receptionist, viz. Cynthia. She is rude and abrupt beyond words. They make the mess up and then try and shift the blame on to the purchaser and absolve themselves of any wrong doing. With the diminishing online services in South Africa for entertainment physical media, we have no option at times, but to use them. If I had my way, I wouldn't though.
I ordered an item on the 30th April 2019 and then Raru so-called sent an email out on the 6th May 2019 (according to them, 3 working days is as per their rules) to the effect of: "We regret to inform you that we have been notified by the supplier of [link of item ordered] that is unfortunately no longer available. We have now cancelled [link of item ordered] from the order and placed the credit on you Raru profile." When you click on the link, it takes you to a page that shows the item is available to order with a "dispatched 10 to 15 working days" as per the original item ordered. 1) The item is available to order and Raru is claiming that the supplier has no stock. 2) The item price has gone 8 times the original price that was ordered at and refuse to honour their original price. 3) Raru is claiming that it is from a different supplier. (How do I know this, as when I click the link, it takes me to the page that shows the item is available to order, it does not take me to a page that shows the item out of stock) It is evident that Raru did not do their homework properly when they advertised the item for sale and now that the item has gone up in price, they are LYING and saying that the item is out of stock and that they are getting it from a different supplier, which is HEARSAY. If you compare them to their competitor, if the item is out of stock and you click on the link of that product, it will take you to a page reflecting "Out of Stock", it does not redirect you to another page with the same item at a higher price. I have dealt with a Rene from Customer Service (not much of customer service given) and a Kurt from the Warehouse and both are adamant that Raru is correct have the right to cancel an order (according to their rules, which both can not even quote to me). They both have pathetic customer service s****s and both will not admit that the company is incorrect. The company has trained them well! If you are a potential customer, I would avoid this website like the plague and visit their competition (which they say they are not trying to emulate) who is No.1 in South Africa as far as e-commerce sites goes, viz. TAKEALOT or even LOOT or better still AMAZON.CO.UK Raru are blatant liars and will and can cancel your item/s without any real proof given and inflate the price of the item at their will and whim.
