You have really proven to be tops with online delivery of fresh fruit, veg and other groceries, all at good prices and with great specials offered. Thank you Discovery for always providing great service. Previously we were insured through Outsurance (for about 18 years) and had a terrible experience with them. We felt victimised due to their attitude and not being able to assist us with our insurance matters, so we cancelled our insurance with them on a very bad note. We have never had problems with Discovery and thanks to Janine Mitchell from Discovery who treated us with kindness and empathy. Your services at Discovery is greatly appreciated.
We purchased an Xbox 1 through Takealot as a birthday gift for our daughter on 14 May 2020. There was a delay in the delivery and eventually when the parcel arrived, we received a set of security cameras instead. The security cameras had a barcode on reflecting a different recipient which means a big error was made from the despatch department who included our barcode and details to the outside box. There was no way of reaching Takealot telephonically so the only option was to place a return on the order. We received an email from their agent Xavier M advising that we will receive the correct stock, or a suitable replacement or credit. I replied to the agent advising him that the incorrect product was collected and specifically stipulated that we did not want the item to be credited as we want this issue to be resolved or replaced. This was Takealot’s error and they should take the responsibility! At this stage the price of the Xbox went up from R6,400 which we paid for, to an amount of R9,999 (which is now going for R8,999). We feel that we have been robbed by Takealot for not providing us with a product which we paid for in order for them to make more money off it. This was a very sneaky way of making the ‘error’ and shutting us up. We received a response from Xavier M saying that they will follow up with the relevant department and provide feedback. On Saturday, 23 May we received an email from Takealot saying that the full amount has been credited into our Takealot account! I am disgusted in the way this whole scenario played out, we feel scammed and disappointed with the service. We now sit with a disheartened child as a promise was broken due to Takealots incompetence. There is no ways that we will pay R3,000 more for the same product and fall into Takealots trap of spending more money. I cannot understand why they could not source the product which we paid for or at least have a good customer service approach to the whole situation. So now we sit without a birthday gift for our daughter and Takealot still sits with our money in credit!! Unacceptable!! So all we can do now is ask for our money to be paid back into our bank account asap and try to get a gift with that money on short notice for our daughter. We will always feel disgusted in the way Takealot handled this situation. We want our money back as we won’t require their services any longer. We have a long history of making big purchases through Takealot which has now come to an end. We are appalled by all of this!!!
I ordered a plant and a birthday balloon for delivery on 15 May and I was very disappointed when it was not delivered. The Monday I spoke to Brenda who clearly understood my disappointment and embarrassment, as a close friend of mine did not receive her gifts on her birthday. Brenda then swiftly assisted to remedy the situation. It was too late to deliver a birthday balloon so Brenda made sure to provide a wonderful replacement order. Thank you so much, the belated gift really brightened up my friends day, as well as mine.
Late last year we had a life-threatening and unforeseen situation with our roof which was on the brink of collapsing. We were very worried and concerned about the safety of our children. On informing Outsurance, we dealt with a Qaasim Varind who showed no empathy towards our situation and whom we found to be very impersonal in our communications. Our claim was rejected and we had to bear the brunt of the unforseen situation and the huge costs of vacating the house, having the roof removed and then replaced. <br> At that stage we received another surprise, our insurance premium was adjusted by almost 50% more. We would usually not have had a problem paying more, however we did not receive any satisfactory results from Outsurance, so this makes us contemplate the insurance of Outsurance.<br>
