I often buy from Sunningdale Sanitary but having to wait 9 days for a refund, after I took 9 boxes of tiles back, in person to the store is totally unacceptable! They were waiting to be refunded by their supplier. In the real world it does not work like that. This is the last time I order from them, purely because of their excuses the one after the other. Please fami****ise yourselves with the CPA!
I have been trying to close my single facility account with Discovery Bank since 23 September 2025. Firstly the call centre two numbers did not work, they stop short of "press 1 if you are phoning regarding your recent credit application" and then hang. I phone more than 5 times on one day. My colleague at work actually witnessed this as she sat next to me during my many attempts. The Whatsapp line bot is not set up to deal with account closures and was my last resort the Privacy team. I tried the call centre again and again and when I finally got to speak to a human the more I noted that I needed the closure letter for my bank urgently, since their facility is subject to this letter, the more Discovery call centre, when you finally get hold of them after the public holiday last week, say we have 8 days to do so. So it is the 1st of October 2025 and yet, I still do not have the closure letter. Big brand, very powerful, they can therefore be arrogant and do whatever they want, right? A complete nightmare to deal with. When a company becomes too big, service levels often deteriorate. Executives become so important that they cannot see the very thing that impacts the one key strategic objective, namely revenue growth linked to satisfied clients. Operational efficiencies are key, as well.

My goodness, I have no words. Need to start building, my 2nd bond was signed on 19 May and lodged in Cape Town Deeds Office on 20 May 2025. Today is 2 June 2025. The process for a single deed usually takes maximum 5 working days. It's been 2 weeks and nothing. Construction cannot start due to government not delivering. Remember they charge a fee, this is not a free service. I am one of many in the same boat. Clearly no contingency planning at the Deeds Office. So disappointing and frustrating and it will just fall on deaf ears.

Sold my mom's 2015 VW Polo and handed the keys, car, roadworthy and title document on Thursday morning 5 September 2024 in. The pre-loved cars sales lady Claudia that I have been dealing with since the 5th is very pleasant and trying to have the finance department process the payment. It is 9 September 2024 today, yet I still need to wait since the admin team are not available. I cannot help but wonder whether they have cash flow problems and if they don't then they certainly do not have succession planning and business continuity plans in place when critical staff are off ill or on leave. I am not impressed and cannot see supporting this brand unless they shape up. Even approaching the dealer principal did not help.
I have posted a week ago about my bariatric surgery approved on 1 March and at the claim stage being rejected outright due to the claims department not incorporating in their process "exceptions" (which is really no longer exceptions if all conditions are met) that must go straight to another department for approval. Discovery has been in possession before but also collectively on 4 April 2024 of the three claims and proof of payments and Discovery BCN approval. With huge effort the one refund was processed on Friday 13 April, BUT the amount claimed reflecting much higher than the actual tax invoice on the Discovery system. Again with the surgeon's account a total mess where the incorrect amount is to be paid to the member and the total amount claimed again reflecting an incorrect amount on the Discovery system, it is much more than what the surgeon invoiced for. It is clear that Discovery's internal processes are inadequate as well as the actual processing and how claims are reflecting on the system. Even though the surgeon submitted their documents manually to avoid online submission drama, the process still failed. A super mess and nightmare, with a thousand reference numbers, instead if having one reference number for one event.
So I got approval for bariatric surgery to be paid for at 80%. Blessed and very happy, until we got to the point of submitting claims for the more than R100K I paid cash upfront to the various medical professionals. Despite the fact that I proved to Discovery that I made the payments and hold an authorisation for the surgery in March 2024, all claims are rejected outright without Discovery checking first whether it relates to bariatric surgery!!! So they delay the process as much as possible and have backlog on backlogs! This is clearly a process failure on Discovery's part, which has a knock on effect on my Self Payment GAP, which I have clearly already paid (the more than R100K). I heard via a medical professional (hearsay) that Discovery does not want to spend any money on this "small" glitch as they have millions of other things to manage. We this is extreme poor customer service! You should have your processes 100% working when you are in fact prepared to pay 80% of the surgery. The hospital was paid only 76.5% why not 80%? When will I be refunded?
I would like to complement Pet Heaven on their user friendly website, quality products and amazing delivery service. It has been a real pain for me to go and buy my monthly cat food, dog food and cat litter supplies in general because the bags are so heavy, Pet Heaven is the only pet retailer that made it quick and reliable to ensure that we do not run out.
