Not a complaint against the company itself as it is against one of the staff working there. This staff member has displayed a visible and consistent hatred for one person over the span of many many years, and has recently even led a targeted hate and campaign and attempted cancellation against this said individual for absolutely no reason whatsoever except for her one sided loathing. Many companies, of which Lombard does seem to be one, put alot of effort into curating and maintaining their positive social image and standing in the community, encompassing their core business values, social responsibility as well as their staffs behaviour and how that behaviour reflects on the company they work for. However, when one staff member acts this attrociously towards an innocent person who did nothing wrong to them ever, one has to question whether the company trully knows what kind of person their staff member really is, and if they did, whether or not they would condone this kind of behaviour, and if it is something by which they would proudly stand and put their name behind. This makes one question the itegrity of the company as a whole, aswell as the staff member themselves. Even though I am trying to be respectful and not say the persons name if i can help it, I am happy to discuss this with the company should they decide to respond to me following this complaint. Again you charge my account fraudulent fees for alleged "ITEMS PAID NOT PROVIDED FOR" to the amount of R335 IN TWO DAYS!! Both days there was more than enough money in to satisfy all payments, even leaving my balance after the fees were charged of hundreds of rands still so how does that make sense? How can there still be that much money in my account after I was charged such a large amount for effectively not having enough money in my account??? This is my fourth time complaining about this same issue on here because apparently it is the only way to open communication with this bank but often that doesn't even work. SO TELL US FNB - HOW DO WE GET YOUR ATTENTION AND WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET YOU TO START TREATING YOUR "VALUED" CLIENTS WITH SOME MODICUM OF DECENCY AND RESPECT???
The fees this bank is charging now is beyond outrageous! I have just recently calculated the total amount I have been charged throughout this year for nonsense made up discretions and come up with a total of almost r1000!! These fake fees are made up of two sections, namely: 1) Numerous accounts of r8.50 called "not provided for", even though I'm say, sitting at home, reading a book and not even thinking about trying to purchase anything and have no debit orders scheduled. When I brought this up over the phone, in person, and over secure chat to 'my team of personal bankers' (ha!) I have plainly been told that they, as my bank, have no means to see what the actual transaction was that was supposedly rejected, and that it is my job, as the client and account holder, to know what is supposed to be coming off my account and to make sure it is provided for! When I asked them to stop it they said they couldn't, when I asked them to reverse or refund of they said they wouldn't, and when I asked them what it was for they said they didn't know and basically didn't care. Keep in mind that this was happening even when I had no less that r15000 in my account, so I ask again what can this possibly be for and what amount would satisfy it if even r15000 was not enough?? And this has been happening for much longer than just this year.. 2) Multiple monthly instances of fees in the hundreds labelled as "paid not provided for" which is a shocking example of how the banks delayed and deeply flawed accounting system benefits nobody but them. Let me explain: I have r0 in my account. Someone pays r100 into my balance and my available balance both now show r100 at the time on my banking app. I purchase something, say, online, for r70. Both my balance and available balance now shows R30 available. That night when the bank does their silly magic. The next morning I wake up and check my bank app which now shows, shockingly, that I am r120 in the minus! Incredulously I go and check my recent transaction list. I see the r70 transaction there, click on it, and in the details it shows me that at the time the transaction was began, my balance was apparently r0, which landed my account at -r70. I was then charged a fee for the bank having to allow the transaction to go through even with no money in my account, which they name "paid not provided for" of r150, ending up with me then at -r220. They only then reflect my debit of r100, finally ending me up at a end balance of -r120, where in my mind, and in actual real life fact, my balance was and should still have been R30!! As an added bonus, let's say that I was expecting a debit order to come off the next day of r15, now that's fine, obviously, yesterday when I last checked my account it was still at R30 remember? Fine.. No!! Now, after FNBs night time 'magic' landing me at -r120 for no apparent reason, I no longer have enough money to satisfy that debit order so it bounces and my wonderful amazing bank then goes and charges me another beautiful fee of r180 for that bounced debit order, landing me at a magnificent -R300.. You see my problem yet?????
I am so sick and fed up of being lied to and stolen from by FNB it is ridiculous. Either they are reversing debit orders that should have gone through easily or they are charging me penalties for things which I didn't approve and have no idea what they are. Countless number of fees charged randomly for "unpaid items" each accruing their own penalty fee yet the bank cannot tell me what it is for or who it is going to nor can they stop it. It's ridiculous I hate this bank and it just keeps ripping me off every day. It returns debit orders that there is more than enough money to cover for no reason and when I query it they say they can do nothing about it simple as that.
Why can I not comment on a complaint?? Every time I do the page is simply just refreshed and it says I need some comment plug-in from Facebook and my entire comment is wiped away. What dies hellopeter have to do with Facebook?? I don't have Facebook so now I can't comment on posts - is that really what you're telling me?!
Still noone has contacted us back about this or even replied to one of our many many phone calls and emails - all sent and directed to whatever phon number or email address we could find because the one on the "website" either doesn't work or never existed. You think I am just going to leave this?? No way my friends!! We paid ALOT of money for that weekend away, that trip and that room and we were not even there for 10 minutes. Basically we stayed for the tour and then immediately called the manager who wasn't there, then the owner, who also wasn't there and apparently doesn't even exist because we still can't get hold of the woman and she refuses to communicate with us. The hotel keeps telling us to take it up with the booking site - booking.com and vice versa - its frigging ridiculous!! Just the plain arrogance of the woman the place and the site- not to even offer us one CENT back for remuneration or apology!! No way stuff that.
Has anyone actually received a response back from BAT about this problem yet or what?? Something similar happened to us when we went to go buy there was only soft pack and the individual boxes were all dented and it all (like all the brands) had this weird sticker on the front. Has anyone else seen these?? I want to get my money back for them before I open them or atleast exchange them for normal ones if there is something wrong with them but I'm not sure. Has this happened to anyone else here?? And more importantly - do these people ever actually reply? I feel like they are purposefully defrauding us as the consumers knowing their products are faulty and still selling them full price anyway!! That's just my opinion though - who can ever know for sure?! And its actually so sad too because these are all super established respected and (dam) expensive brands, I mean in this country names like stuyvesant, dunhill and winston used to mean something, but apparently not anymore :(
Do not book this place EVER!! It looked lovely online om one arverts so we booked it happily and paid UPFRONT. As soon as we arrived we could see that it was not what we were expecting or what was advertised at all. The room wae extremely small and not like it was advertised - much smaller than a normal hotel room and about double the price. The balcony from the bedroom is apparently"communal" as it joins the bedroom to the communal lounge area which anyone can reach - Giving them easy and unfettered access to our room. We found this shocking aswell as completely unacceptable and obviously very unsafe. We were not even there for 15 minutes before decided to leave and asked for a refund. At this point things became tricky and hard to understand- we could not get hold of any owner or manager or even anyone who could assist us in any way whatsoever. We requested a full refund as we thought this was only fair considering the amount of time we spent there. We have videos of our battle to get some kind of assistance aswell as of one of the staff members agreeing with us that it is totally unsafe. Finally we were advised to request a full refund on the booking.com site instead of going through the hotel, which we did, explaining the whole situation but the hotel still declined and charged us a r650 cancelation fee which is half of the total amount we paid. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. IT IS SMALL, UNPLEASANT, OVERPRICED AND UNSAFE
We often do business with cash converters as well as other 2nd hand shops and pawn shops, etc, but none shine as brightly as cash converters honeycrest. When eddie is there he instantly makes anyone feel welcome and comfortable
