In April 2018 I had my eyes tested at The Sanctuary Optometrist in The Sanctuary Shopping Centre, Somerset West. I explained to the staff that I needed at least a test pair of contact lenses before a certain date as I was flying to Thailand and would need to use the lenses there. I told them that if they can't deliver I would need to look for someone who can. They said I need not worry, they'll have test lenses ready before my flight. One day before my flight I was getting anxious and decided to give them a call as I haven't heard anything from them. They told me my test lenses would only be ready the following week. Needless to say, I had to go on holiday without contact lenses. A few months later I had to have new eyeglasses made. I decided to not have them made at The Sanctuary Optometrist because I could not trust their service anymore. I did, however, decide to use the prescription they gave me as I had obviously already spent money on the eye test. After receiving my new eyeglasses I realised something was wrong as I couldn't see as well as expected with them. I returned to the optometrist who made the new lenses and asked them to look into it. They immediately offered to give me a complimentary eye test in order to assist me in getting to the bottom it. The new eye test then yielded a completely different prescription as the one I received from The Sanctuary Optometrist. I then decided to inform The Sanctuary Optometrist of the situation. The optometrist at The Sanctuary Optometrist completely refused to take responsibility for the wrong prescription she provided. She said it was the responsibility of the optometrist who made the lenses to test my eyes before making them. She basically made a scapegoat of the fact that I opted to not spend money on having my eyes tested a second time. The optometrist where I had the lenses made offered to make new ones for me at 60% discount. I will recommend their service to anyone and will never make use of The Sanctuary Optometrist again. The staff at The Sanctuary Optometrist have no intention of keeping customers happy it seems.
More than a month after renting a car from First Car I receive an invoice for "FINE HANDLING FEE". I immediately query this invoice and ask for proof of a fine. On the same day the fee is automatically deducted from my credit card without proof of any fine. I have still not received any proof of a fine after e-mailing their "customer care" e-mail address (provided on the invoice) twice. I tried submitting a query on their website and seems their system is broken as it continually says I cannot submit the query because my surname and booking reference (copied from the booking confirmation e-mail) does not match.
When I was in the process of purchasing my home I was phoned by a representative of BetterLife who explained to me I needed bond insurance from them in order to register my home loan with FNB. At the time I agreed and took the policy as I thought it was just another necessary step towards owning my own home. A year later I realized that FNB already includes bond insurance with their home loan product and I have been paying for the unnecessary BetterLife insurance policy for over a year. Payments amounted to almost R5000 which I've essentially thrown in the water. Super dishonest company and probably in cahoots with FNB to scam people out of their money. Be aware.
Don't fall for their SCAM! They lure you into their offices with lies about winning a holiday. They also ask you to sit through a 60 minute OPTIONAL presentation where they try and sell you some contract. After getting to their offices we're told that we did not actually win a holiday but rather discount on a holiday package. Which is of course completely different because winning means no money spent and discount means money needs to be spent. They also then inform us that the now 60-90 minute presentation is compulsory in order to claim the prize. Has all the signs of a SCAM and we were not willing to find out where the other catches were so we left.
For the second time now I've ordered branded items from Brandability with a tight deadline. On both orders they made sure I received my goods in good order and on deadline.

With the last order they not only delivered on time, but even arranged to change my delivery address at the couriers and have my goods overnight-ed in order for me to take delivery before I left on a business trip.

Thanks for the great service! Keep it up and we will do business again.
