On 5 July 2025, at approximately 14:45, my family and I entered Ackerman’s Pavilion to shop. We purchased one item for my daughter. By approximately 15:00, I was standing in line to pay when my wife approached me and informed me that her cellphone, a Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, had just been pickpocketed from her black backpack. We immediately reported the incident to the store manager, Mala Chetty. She responded that she was busy attending to another customer who had also just been ****** inside the store. She was indifferent to our concerns and did not promptly assist us with reviewing the CCTV footage or requesting that security close the store to apprehend the *****. While we waited for her to respond, another customer was ****** in the same store, yet still, no action was taken by the store manager to call security or alert the mall control room for immediate investigation. It is my firm belief that, had the store manager acted swiftly and responsibly, we could have recovered our ****** property, and another customer would likely not have been victimized. The apparent incompetence and inaction of the store manager resulted in multiple thefts occurring on the same day, with no immediate recourse offered to customers other than advising us to report the theft to the South African Police Service (SAPS). Consequently, we reported the matter at SAPS Westville under reference number IR 05/07/2025, and the ****** cell phone has been blacklisted at Vodacom ITC.

Ordered a fridge online, it was delivered defective. Reported it to Makro 2 days later. They arranged a Hisense technician to confirm. Following I received a credit note and a response stating that I should take it in store. I'm in Durban, credit note states the store is in Johannesburg. What kind of useless illogical process do these people use.
Terrible store policy and experience at this store (South Coast Mall). Purchased for over R1000 on the same day but just with 2 invoices and get told that you must purchase for over R1000 on 1 invoice for you to get a scratch to win card. The manager/supervisor Phumelelo was very unfriendly and unhelpful with this issue.
Poor service. Placed an order 22 May and still haven't received it 16 June. Tried calling daily and get told to contact Dawn Wing. Eventually get a hold of Dawn Wing, get told Amanzimtoti Makro hasn't dispatched the item. What's the point of online orders if I have to spend 30 mins on the phone everyday trying to get my order. It makes no sense, not an efficient process Makro. EDIT: I still haven't got my order, no one from Makro cares to give me a meaningful update other than the customer care line telling me they will follow up every damn day!
Ordered an item from this store on 02/02/2019. I emailed them 07/02/2019 as I had not received any tracking details only a confirmation email saying the item has been shipped. So, I waited patiently. Called zasttra.com on ********** on 19/03/2019, and a lady told me that she would follow up and email me the tracking number, no ETA. Called again on 20/03/2019, and the same friendly lady said I will get the tracking number soon, no ETA. zasttra.com I'm tired of waiting.
Pick 'n Pay Shelly Beach Is this branch even being run by the same umbrella company? If yes, please get one of your directors to visit it and then contact me if you (the director) feel that this branch lives your brand promise. Every single time we go shopping here (and I'm not saying that out of exaggeration because there's always something missing), there is no stock of items listed on your specials pamphlet. This time I had enough, 3 items I wished to purchase were not on the shelves on a Monday morning. When are your shelves stocked??? so I'm posting this review for others to know the incompetence of the people running this branch. That said, I will take my money across the road to Checkers South Coast Mall going forward.
I called them, the consultant emailed me the form to cancel the products as they were at the end of the contract term. I completed the form, emailed it to the cancellations email and also CC the consultant. Look at my bill this month and they billed for the services that were meant to be canceled.
