I am extremely dissatisfied with how ABSA Legal has handled my vehicle matter. My vehicle was taken under a warrant, and I approached ABSA in good faith to negotiate a settlement that would allow me to bring my account up to date. I specifically requested to settle the arrears only, which is the standard and reasonable approach for credit providers. Instead, I have been met with inflexibility from the liaison officer, Monique van der Mescht, who refuses to consider this request. Instead, I am being pushed to pay an excessive full settlement amount of over R600,000 — an amount no credit provider would realistically expect in these circumstances. This treatment is not only inconsiderate but also shows a lack of willingness to assist a client who is actively trying to resolve the matter. It feels punitive rather than constructive. I am calling on ABSA Vehicle Legal to urgently review this issue and allow me to settle the arrears so that my account can be regularized. The current stance is unreasonable, and I believe it reflects poorly on ABSA’s commitment to fair customer treatment. I trust ABSA will address this matter urgently and provide a fair solution.

On the 27 of September I was due to depart from Johannesburg to Durban – GE 211 Sep 27, 4:00 PM–5:05 PM Take-off Sep 27, 4:00 PM Landing Sep 27, 5:05 PM Flight duration 1 hr, 5 min Passenger name ANELISA MAGINI Seat -Confirmation number 3858AE35. I then unfortunately received a text an hour before that the fly was not going to take of due to technical difficulties. Therefore I requested lift airline to refund me for this trip and successfully I did get a refund. This forced me to then request Fly Safair to put on hold the flight and I contacted them to state the reason for me not flying but I was given a voucher. I will not be travelling and have been requesting that my matter be considered as this was due to unfortunate circumstances as a result the voucher is not assisting me as I will not be flying I have incurred unnecessary expenses as I was forced to drive to Durban meaning extra expenses which I have not recovered. I would like to recover from this unfortunate event financially and request that the matter be escalated to finance department to consider my refund from the voucher as I need it in monetary value to recover all expenses. The consideration of customers is important especially in such events. Please consider this request and escalate it for a refund to the bank account used for purchase of the ticket.
