So much for avoiding!
I have a Corolla Cross XR (the one that supposedly has all the safety tech). One of the things it is supposed to have is “collision avoidance”. Based on the name, one would think it would help one “avoid a collision”. The other day I was driving in bumper to bumper traffic and, totally my fault, became momentarily distracted and went into the car in front of me. No warnings, no breaking and certainly no avoiding. I reported this to my local Toyota dealer and was told that the car will NOT do anything to avoid the collision if you are doing under 20 km/h! Isn’t that exactly what it is supposed to do?

Standard Bank

Dont bother
Ive been a Standard Bank customer for over 20 years so, when considering a new car recently, I figured maybe I should move all my asset insurance over to \my bank\". Mistake...big mistake! Do you really want to be in the short term insurance business Standard Bank? Because it really doesn't seem that way. I called....waited about 20 mins for phone to be answered. Once answered I was bounced from one operator to another, lisened to copious amounts of \"on hold music\" and eventually put the phone down after a frustrating half and hour of wasting my time. Please don't bother Standard Bank. Stick to banking. Called Discovery Insure and it was all sorted out, quote and all, in less time than you took you to answer the phone."

Vodacom assists spammers
This is something that really should be exposed nationwide. Companies like Vodacom hide behind a veneer of respectability when some of their business practices would be better suited to phishing scam artists. How can I say this with certainty....well because I have incontrovertible proof. About a year and a half ago I took out a data contract that included a Samsung tablet. I have no idea what the cell number associated with this contract is. Thus I have NEVER given anyone this number...I don't even know it myself. Yet within a week of activating this contract the spam smses started. Then the phone calls from direct marketing call centres. At this point I am inundated with smses from SABC tv licences, Hollard Insurances and a multitude of funeral policy and loan companies, some of whom address me by name. So my question to you Vodacom is how did these companies get this number if the only people who know it are Vodacom and myself
