Be very cautious when dealing with Helé van Aswegen and Stitchbury. Read all the reviews online and THEN only do you decide whether you can give this person your fabric and money. She sounds very capable and right for the job in the planning stage. She then demands a 100% upfront payment and, vanishes. It becomes harder to get a hold her, she makes dates for completion and doesn't stick to them and eventually even outright refuses to give you feedback on your order. We've sent her about R85k of our fabric and have had no response from her or her lawyers about where our stuff is. Her lawyers? Yes, she will play victim and put a team of lawyers on you. I can advise anyone who is out of pocket because of Helé van Aswegen and Stitchbury to report her to your bank and the police. It's important that a record of her behaviour is made with authorities now so that she is eventually held accountable and put to book. Please contact me too. We're already putting together a class actiom lawsuit against her with other victims of her actions.
I haven't come across a business with such predatory sales tactics as Outsurance before. We had a bunch of policies with them. When we started enquiring about home insurance for which we already had an existing policy with another institution, the phone consultant kept on trying to get me to agree to signing up even though I had to insist numerous times that we wanted a quote and that we already had a policy elsewhere which would need to be cancelled if we switched over. The following month, my Outsurance debit order included a premium for home insurance. I really had to resist the consultant who was forcefully trying to get me to take the home insurance when I was just asking for a quote. I at one point found myself screaming down the phone: "It is ******* to have two short-term insurance policies!" At which point, the consultant backed off but then still went on and signed me up to the product. When we tried to get hold of someone at Outsurance to explain to us why we were signed up for a new product for which we didn't consent, they went AWOL. We sent numerous emails and made phone calls only for our query to be avoided. During the whole ordeal, we didn't once receive any communication from anyone at Outsurance. We reported them to the Insurance Ombudsman and Outsurance conveniently left the above conversation out of our complaint after having to request numerous times for records of our calls. Outsurance's game is to make you so fatigued from trying to get justice as a consumer that you eventually just give up. After the very ******* move described above, we decided to cancel all our policies and move elsewhere. When we started this process we found that the person on the other end of the line just wouldn't take no for an answer. When trying to cancel our business insurance, the consultant literally tried to sell us another product instead. I again had to raise my voice in a bid to defend my right to cancel this policy and only then did the Outsurance employee comply. Another one of their strategies is to tire you out in the cancellation process that you end up staying with them. Surely this predatory behaviour can't be legal! Anyone considering insurance, call your bank and sign up there. The service may take 24 hours longer but they offer far cheaper insurance products and are less aggressive.
We switched over from FNB because they offered us better rates, then they went and changed the rates almost 2 weeks in. There was no paper trail and no documents signed. Their phone calls aren't recorded so there's no record of anything and their staff can say whatever they want to to you. There's a reason why governance in financial institutions exist and we switched back to FNB within a month of using Yoco just because we missed that level of governance. We continued to occasionally use the 3 Yoco machines we had left and miraculously they all lasted almost a year exactly. They are all now broken. Guys, go to your bank who is listed on the JSE and thus held to a higher level of scrutiny and contact them for credit card machines. Yoco is not the one.
Travelstart is redundant! Just book from airline directly. Booked a ticket in March 2020 which was subsequently cancelled. We went through all the processes at first to try and sell the ticket on to someone else when travel became possible again. That wasn't possible because every time someone wanted to purchase the ticket and do the name swap it was impossible to get hold of someone at Travelstart and the buyer would lose interest. Then we tried to get a refund for the tickets and they went round in circles until the time to get the refund from the airline expired and we no longer can be refunded. All the time they were going round in circles felt like a concerted effort to muck us about so that we would eventually not be eligible for a refund. Guys, book your tickets directly from the airline. Travelstart is redundant.
Never ever open an account if you hope for business continuity. Capitec has gone and blocked my account and I am now unable to withdraw the R20K in there to pay my supplier. This is all happening under the hardships that small businesses have undergone in the last 2 years. I have visited a branch so that they can verify my identity and hand me back the rightful control to my bank account, yet they can't. The current waiting time for their so called forensics department to assess my case is 7 to 14 working days. What small business has 7 to 10 working days to wait for their capital to be released. Close your account with Capitec and get yourself to FNB. Capitec never even had the decency to call me to notify me that they would be blocking my account. Complete disdain. If you like being treated like a criminal by your bank, Capitec is the one for you.
Perfectly Stitched is a business potentially operating fraudulently. On their website, they make you pay R250 for a consultation and once that happens, you receive invoices with invalid VAT numbers. Their payment method on their landing page is false because they would never be able to get a PayPal account. When we asked for their valid VAT number or to speak to a finance person, we were told we couldn't. When we wanted to go to their offices, we were told that we couldn't. Until the company proves otherwise, I would say stay away from www.perfectlystitched.co.za More than happy to change my review if company provides me with valid CIPC and SARS documents but until then I would advise anyone to be very cautious before proceeding with this company.
