I placed an order for an item of clothing online on Friday morning, and it was delivered (the correct item, in the correct size, to the correct address) before 11 a.m on Monday! That's what I call service, especially after previous disappointing and frustrating experiences with other online retailers in SA. Just wanted to give them a shout-out for doing it right.
For the past couple of weeks, I have been receiving non-stop spam SMS's on my Cell C mobile number - day and night, waking me up at at all hours of the night and interrupting me all day long (loan offers, phishing SMS's in the name of Omo, Toyota, RICA & god knows what all else). Since other customers have made the same complaint, I can only assume that Cell C is in the business of selling our numbers. I don't know how to make this stop, but if Cell C doesn't do something about it, IMMEDIATELY, then I am going to switch providers. This is totally unacceptable.
OK, I have to hand it to this company for outstanding customer service. A repeat customer, I recently placed an order using a new address, as I've moved since I last ordered from Inksaver. The order confirmation emailed to me contained the correct address, but the order was somehow dispatched to the old address. When I got a call from the courier company to this effect, telling me that delivery would be delayed by several days, I was annoyed and fired off an irate email to Inksaver. Within 5 mins I had a phone call from Bianca, who then immediately sent a replacement cartridge with a driver, which I received within half an hour. Can't beat that for acknowledging an error and fixing it right away. Take note, other online companies! (By the way, Inksaver's cartridges are half the price of the manufacturer's, last twice as long, and are of equivalent quality - so why would you continue to be ripped off by the outrageous retail prices?). It's not often one has the opportunity to compliment a South African company on its customer service (!), so I'm delighted to do so.
We recently purchased 3 items of furniture from Mistry's in Northgate. As the promised date of delivery approached, with zero communication from the company, I made numerous calls to ascertain (a) whether the delivery was going to take place, (b) if so, when, & (c ) how to obtain an invoice to pay off the balance due. This required at least 6 phone calls, none of which were ever returned by the salesperson responsible (Karen). When I paid the balance & sent proof of payment, I was told that it hadn't been received. Having finally managed to confirm delivery, after 3 pm on the day in question, I was informed, at the last minute (ie, when the van was already on the highway to my address) that they had loaded the wrong item and would have to redeliver the following day. All this would have been bad enough (10 phone calls, and counting) but when the furniture arrived, it was of the worst possible quality and stained bright orange (!) instead of the light oak requested. The samples shown in the showroom were entirely misleading and bore no relation to the shoddy, inferior products that we actually received. Stay away, for the sake of your wallet and your mental health.
