I have reviewed this business before as it is one of my most frequent places to shop. Imagine my disappointment then when at the end of a lunch over the festive season I opened a box of 'Tasty Treats Cracker Mix' only to discover piles of crumbs instead of whole wheat saltine biscuits and broken fragments for the other five varieties. The pity is that t his experience has greatly shrunk my respect for the Ferndale branch of FLM.
On Thursday this week myself and my sister-in-law took a wander around the organic market at the Waldorf school in Bryanston, Johannesburg. Set in a shaded area it is a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours with nothing particular in mind. There is plenty of seating for tired feet as well as country-style refreshments to treat the taste buds. Of particular note are the jewellery and clothing stalls, (I plan to save some shekels for one of the amber rings that tickled my fancy, As far as my taste buds are concerned I was blown over by the Green Bean African coffee and wondered where else it might be available. I would love to swallow some more of it.
On 16th July I had 4 trees topped by this company, they left debris behind which Ive had to pay to have carted away. they dawdled on the job and carelessly damaged some of my plants. Last year they did another job for me which was expertly done, I am there fore feeling very disappointed this time.
on 17th July I filed a complaint to actiononline@absa.co,za. I experienced a problem with their online banking whereby my account was debited for two failed attempts to buy electricity when an error message appeared. I received a reply and have received a refund for one of the failed transactions instead of two. I explained clearly what the problem was and cannot understand this oversight. I have sent a further email.
One hour ago I attempted to buy internet banking only to be informed that an 'error had occurred. I made one more attempt and received the same error message. Nevertheless my account has been debited twice with no pin provided so I cannot load the electricity. this is not the first time this app has disappointed. I recommend no one uses Absa internet banking app. July 17th 2020
I am on my way to my Spar, just around the corner in Conrad Drive, Blairgowrie. I patronise this shop because as a pensioner I get five percent discount SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!
The IMPALA butchery is a more recent addition to the Impala fruit and flower market in Northcliff, Johannesburg on Beyers Naude Drive. If you are one of those people who prefer, like me, to buy your meat from a quality butchery rather than a supermarket, give them a try. One of my favourites is the handmade Beef and B.acon burgers. Think Friday night relaxed supper with a hot bowl of soup followed by a cheesy-sink-your-teeth-into yummy hamburger in front of the TV.
If you are interested in buying FRESH fruit and veg at GREAT prices, hurry to FOOD LOVERS MARKET. I go to the newest one at FERNDALE ON REPUBLIC where the parking is non-hassle and FREE as well! While you are there grab a CHEESE LOAF one of the best I have ever tasted! Be sure not to leave without a PIE to munch with a cup of steaming hot coffee the moment you get home. GO THERE! Its worth it.
any one living anywhere near the Fruit flower and nut market in Conrad Drive off Jan Snuts avenue in Craighall Park, Johannesburg, should visit this unique little shop. It has a lot to offer. Firstly, an unusual mix of produce is what will strike you straight away. How many shops offer a large selection of fresh, and I really mean FRESH fruit and veg, plus every HEALTH FOOD you can think of, plus fresh bunches of flowers?, Go there! and do't forget to pick up some yummy home-baked Portuguese bread and delicacies at the till. You will leave smiling like a Cheshire cat!
Are you a culture vulture or a connoisseur of old and rare movies or documentaries? meet Henni Erasmus at his DVD sore in Greenside, Johannesburg. He is a specialist in British movies and TV series, historical and nature documentaries (think WW1 or WW2 or David Attenborough). I particularly enjoyed his travel documentaries too. If Shakespeare is your thing, plenty of that lives on his shelves beside musicals, adaptations of best seller books, gay movies and nail-biting thrillers and horrors. So if you, like me, are tired of TV channels and play stations choosing what they think you should see, get pro-active and come and choose for yourself.
