On the 09th of March, I wrote the following to ABSA: Unlawful Bank Fees Yesterday I have transferred money into my account from abroad - I do this on a regular basis to cover costs. Yesterday, for the first time, YOU have taken a fee for this transaction - WHY??? This is the second time this year your are taking a fee from my account without informing me of your reason and you don’t bother answering to emails either! The fact that I have no option but to trust you as a bank with my money soars me and you have the power to take ‘fees’ for every time a person just looks at their account without formal notification. Please reply in person justifying your above actions. To say the least, I am p ... angry!! Then came the normal ABSA response to sweeten you up: Dear Customer Thank you for bringing this unfortunate matter to my attention and please accept my sincere apology. Your reference number is C-09584591. I will review and provide you with my specific contact details as well as an expected timeframe for further update/ feedback via email or contacting you telephonically within four hours. Looking forward to being of service to you. Kind regards Nthabiseng Sibande Customer Value Management Absa Bank Ltd I even received an email from Nthabiseng promising that she will contact me on the 16th of March after her investigation. Today, the 26th, Absa informed me that my case has been been closed and if I have any further queries, I can contact Nthabiseng. What a cheek and laziness from Absa and your staff. Please call me, I am waiting!

I cannot believe this company is still in business!! People, PLEASE don't use them, it will safe you headaches and the frustration.
Are these guys still in business? Eben Saunders - the wheel is turning and i wish you nothing but hardship during the liquidation. i hope they take you to the cleaners!
Absolute pathetic service with zero customer relations or service. 1. They gave me a car with very worn back shock absorbers / suspension. They agreed to change the car but made me pay for the fuel charges involved. Why should I be penalized for them renting out unroadworthy vehicles? 2. E-toll charges - why pay an additional 15%VAT on their invoice if it is already included in SANRAL pricing. 3. Re-fueling charges - the vehicle was filled to the point of spilling/overflowing. I then drove under 10km to Europcar drop-off. The vehicle was checked-in as FULL. 3 Moths later, they deducted from my account R231-00 fueling charges! 4. One rental contract but they invoiced me twice a Document Administration Fee. 5. Upon returning the vehicle, they found a small chip on the windscreen. Unfortunately, the day the vehicle was swapped (changed the out the bad suspension car) it was raining and a quick inspection of the car was done - my own stupidity trusting a thieving company. 3 Months after completion of the rental, I received an invoice of R95-00 for repairs to the windscreen. Europcar is now threatening me with a legal action if the invoice is not settled - but they refuse to respond to any of my quires regarding overcharging my account.
On the 09th February 2016, I made a deposit from abroad to my Absa account to cover my bond in SA. On the 11th February I received an SMS from my online banking saying that the funds were received and by me logging into my internet banking, will release the funds immediate into my account. the same day I logged into my account twice.
On the 18th February I realized that the money has not yet been transferred.
I then sent Absa an email asking why the money has not yet been transferred. Your respond:
Please note that we can only release the funds when we receive an instruction to release it and authorization to credit the account at the ruling rate of exchange.
We did not receive an instruction to release the funds on the 11th February 2016.
If you send me an SMS - twice already - asking to log into my account for immediate action and I did respond by logging into my account, is that not me obliging to your instructions?
By you not releasing the money, I am loosing out on the exchange rate.
I have been asking Absa's explanation over and over - but nothing, just keeps on saying they can only transfer the money at the current exchange rate - which is rubbish.
I want justice!
These guys are highway robbers. i had Afriworld removals quoting me on relocating my furniture from Harties to Plett. Log-Tec was sub-contracted to do the removal. Dealing with Eben was very frustrating and painful.
When the truck finally arrived - after many frustrating phone conversations with Afriworld (Gerhard) and Log-Tec (Eben) - it was 21:00 and I had to cancel my flight that left at 19:00.
When the truck finally left in the early hours of the next morning I received a SMS from Eben stating i had more furniture that quoted for and had to pay an additional R18 000 plus he offloaded my furniture somewhere in Jo'burg and i had to pay extra for handling and storage. I was threatened that my furniture would be sold if i don't pay the money in full, basically, i was held at ransom.
When my furniture finally arrived, there were a lot of damage.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS OR AFRIWORLD TO DO ANY REMOVAL
a Month before my removal took place I chose Afriworld to do the removal for me as their price were very good and their correspondence professional.
They asked for a shipping list and I explained that i did not had one but mentioned a few items i knew i had. They suggested and quoted for 25m2 and twice I made it clear i needed 65m2.
On the day of removal I was informed there was no track and a sub-contractor was taking over and i was asked to contact him.
LogTec - Eben - the sub-contractor was from the start bad news. Truck was scheduled for the morning and finally arrived 21:00.
01:00 the next morning after loading I was told that i had to much furniture as quoted and had to pay triple the price. By then i was beyond myself. Afriworld did not take any responsibly or charge of the situation and was told to deal directly with the sub-contractor. The next morning my furniture was offloaded in a store and i had to pay extra for offloading, storage & loading until i pay in full. The sub then informed me that Afriworld is only a broker and not a removal company as advertised.
Finally, my furniture was delivered 3 days late and close to 4 x the original quote.
Afriworld is useless!!
