In 2023, the dischem branch ‘The Neighbourhood’ in Linksfield dispensed medication in my name while I was in another province. The handling of this matter by the store was extremely poor. Despite repeated assurances that they would review the CCTV footage, no resolution or feedback was provided. With no progress from dischem, I reported the matter to Discovery. dischem was unable to account for why the medication was dispensed or to whom it was given. Discovery was wonderful and confirmed that dischem would reverse the transaction. To this day, I have not received any refund—neither directly to my account nor via my medical aid. Following this incident, dischem placed additional security restrictions on my profile. I am now limited to collecting medication from only one dischem branch and must present my ID for every transaction. Each month, I receive calls from the dischem call centre offering to pack my medication. I also receive SMS notifications stating that my medication is ready for collection. However, upon visiting the store, I am repeatedly informed that my medication cannot be packed due to the ID requirement. Yet every month I am called and assured my meds can be packed. As someone living with a chronic illness, I am deeply frustrated and disheartened that I am bearing the consequences of dischem’s error. I did not order medication from The Neighbourhood branch while out of the city, and in fact, I had not placed any orders for several months. It should have raised concerns that only one item from a multi-medication script was requested after such a long period of inactivity. I have ceased lodging complaints about this issue, as I have received no resolution or refund to date. Ironically, I had already stopped using the Neighbourhood branch years earlier due to a separate poor experience. On that occasion, I ordered medication for collection at the Neighbourhood, Linksfield. After receiving an SMS confirmation, I arrived at the branch, only to be told—after a 30-minute wait—that my medication had been incorrectly packed at the Lakeside branch. The pharmacist was unable to call Lakeside directly, as “the phones cannot dial out,” and ended up using my personal phone to contact the other store to rectify their error. If these problems are happening to me, they are happening to others as well. Individuals with chronic illnesses typically require more frequent medication than the average person. If someone is collecting ten items a month, there is naturally more opportunity for error than with someone who fills a script once per quarter. However, it is unfair and unacceptable that I am being penalised for mistakes I did not make. On 22 April, I spoke with a call centre team leader about removing the security restrictions from my profile. She indicated that she would email the branch and arrange for my medication to be prepared. Yet again, one medication was missing when I went to collect, and I was informed that neither the store nor the call centre could remove the security from my profile. Why am I receiving multiple calls every month from dischem when they are unable to fulfil my prescriptions? Why am I restricted to a single branch when I was not responsible for the original error? Why must I endure these additional security measures because dischem dispensed my medication—either erroneously or *****ulently—to someone else? Why am I denied access to the convenience of services such as “Pack My Meds” because of a mistake made by the pharmacy? I do not expect any change from dischem at this point. However, I feel both angry and deeply hurt that individuals with chronic illnesses must fight to receive the correct medication from a supermarket masquerading as a pharmacy. I am pained by the thought that someone undergoing chemotherapy or living with a terminal illness might have to waste precious time arguing with dischem staff in order to receive life-saving medication.
Woolworths Bel Air Coffee kiosk After waiting 15 minutes for my coffee I asked Ricky (the 'manager') to reverse my order as they had not started on it. He refused! The baristas were not making my flat white, they were making grande's and mugs for the restaurant. The customer who ordered the grande's came 10 mins after me. I was in a rush and requested a reversal but the manager refused. Please read up on the CPA as it allows for cancellation- considering you hadn't even started on my coffee! NEVER AGAIN!
We had an absolutely awful meal there (22.03). So did the table next to us (who also sent there food back). The manager said "The chef is still learning". Which is unacceptable for a restaurant like this. My burger first came raw. When it came back: it was a patty, a slice of unmelted cheese, and wasabi. Nothing else, the wasabi completely overpowered everything and there was no balance in the burger. My wife's steak looked like blade steak- terribly thing, stringy and tough. The table next to us send their meal back and also had a terrible meal. I work around the corner and am supremely disappointed at the quality of the food and manager. I would rather eat anywhere else. May be the vegan food is better- stay away from the meat as the may "still learning".
They took amazing care of my baby. All professional, explained everything and were so nice, Big thank you to Dr Pillai!
I am extremely flat footed. I wanted to give barefoot shoes a try. I used orthotics for years as a child/teenager but became disillusioned with them and haven't touched them in years. I am never steady on my feet but I manage to exercise and gym. I have a pair of fairly flat shoes ****tle heel drop) and have used them for years and really liked them, thus I decided to try barefoot shoes. I was eyeing a pair specifically for gym from another website but they were ridiculously expensive, So went with Sapmok. I am beyond impressed. Shoes arrived within a few days. I wasnt sure how they would hold up. They are well constructed. I can feel the ground like never before. I am steadier on my feet! I am no longer digging my toes into the ground to try stay grounded. I squat and deadlift with them- they are great! My feet/calves were stiff the first few times- those muscles that haven't been used are getting stronger. I love these shoes. I want a pair in each colours now! A thousand percent recommended!
Was a little apprehensive at first to use them, but I can say I am so happy I did. They were fast, professional and my ANC was done and registered, and within a month I collected the Original. Highly recommend
Their Bryanston branch is amazing. The store is loaded with things for every diet. Prices are not bad considering the quality and range. Their restaurant is amazing. Food is delicious and suits my dietary needs. Coffee is equally amazing.
Had to use their service. They were fast, great and professional. Whenever I see their cars/ambulance I wave in thanks.
Fresh earth has a good variety of things in their shop. They cater to various cohorts -vegan, low carb, gluten free etc. Their baking is great and restaurant is mostly busy. However, their service is absolutely pathetic. I've been 3 times and each time I waited like 30 minutes for someone to help me. They were rude and unapologetic. I will never go back!
The lancet accounts department is useless. I got an sms that I was being handed over to debt collectors. I had not received an invoice/statement for over a year. I had to call to get an invoice, On their online management system it showed they had not contacted me in over a year. Now their debt collectors wont acknowledge my proof of payment. They just ignore my emails. The whole thing could have been avoided if they had just sent me an invoice or even mentioned it when I went for my monthly bloods. These monthly blood tests are always pleasant, the branches I visit are great, the phlebotomist are great. The accounts department makes me want to switch to Ampath and have left a very bad taste in my mouth. Thus the 1 star.
