I bought a vehicle advertised through Cars.co.za, trusting their platform to feature reliable dealers. Soon after the purchase, the car developed serious engine issues, and the dealer stopped responding completely. When I reported this to Cars.co.za, I was referred to their terms and conditions instead of receiving real assistance. This left me feeling unprotected and disappointed. Cars.co.za should do more to vet dealerships and support buyers who encounter dishonest sellers listed on their site.
I wrote a review on Cars.co.za yesterday 15 September 2025. I then received an email notification notifying that my review was live. Today 16 September I log in to check. I find that my review is no longer there. No explanation nothing whatsoever. What happened to my review??
I purchased a 2019 Ford Kuga through a dealer advertising on Cars.co.za (Fynatic Cars Benoni). The car was advertised as being in “excellent condition,” but within 24 hours the engine showed serious faults and was later confirmed by Ford to be full of water and damaged. Paperwork was irregular, the license disc expired, and the dealer has ignored all attempts at resolution. Cars.co.za should take responsibility for the dealers they allow on their platform. I contacted cars.co.za, they requested for details of the whole transaction and proof of which I did provide, all they did was.. they outlined to me their Terms and Conditions 6.2 and 6.3 via email, then wished me then best. Very unhappy with this experience and would not recommend

First time buying a 2nd hand car out of all vehicles I've previously owned. This dealership made it my worst nightmare and had me despise cars.co.za . Bought a 2019 Ford Kuga EcoBoost 1.5 Trend. Vehicle said to be in excellent condition on the adverti*****t and service record up to date. Test drove the vehicle for less than 15 minutes around town where all gears could not obviously been engaged. Stop N go situation. Assured all was in order, only to find they were lying. On my way back going home, noticed there wasn't power on the vehicle, it was vibrating and misfiring. Following day the engine light came came on. Checked, found there wasn't coolant in the car. Topped up, only for it not to last a day. Took it to Eastvaal Ford for service. Upon checking they found that the engine had an internal damage. Excessive amounts of coolant entering the combustion chamber on cylinder 3 hence they refused to do any work on it because of that type of engine for that car being discontinued and Ford not fitting in 2nd hand parts. Vehicle was previously in an accident, noticed that after doing paperwork. You first pay then do paperwork. Contacted them but they seem not to be taking me seriously. The vehicles paperwork is also not in order, found that out from the traffic department. Was given a Natis which reflected another company as being owners of the vehicle, whereas that same company does not even reflect at the traffic dep. Licence disc on the car expired. Car now just parked, Engine on limp mode and car not in EXCELLENT condition like they claimed. Purchased the car 2 weeks ago for 148k. Now I will have to spend even more money to get this resolved and I will not rest!
Hi,
My name is Khomotso.

This 24Hour mobility company is here to rip us off. Been with them for almost 2 years, On 26 Oct 2015 while busy relocating to another town from Lydenburg MP. Had to make a quick stop at Shoprite Lydenburg to purchase light bulbs. Accidentally forgot my cell phone at the shelve. One of the employees found it and took it to managements offices. On arrival where I currently reside, noticed I didn't have my phone. it was late at night at that time. Called the store and was told an employee did bring in the phone. To cut the long story short.. Drove to Lydenburg, the guy who took my phone to management went back to take it and it was given back to him. Went to his house, To my surprise he became very arrogant and abusive and started swearing at me saying that he had the phone but now lost it as we couldn't find it where he claimed to have hidden it.
Reported his actions at his workplace, branch manager and Shoprite customer care line. Opened a case at the police station and he was arrested. Seeing that I would not get my phone. I put in a claim at 24Hour Mobility and explained everything that happened. But my claim was simply declined, No questions asked
