Has anyone successfully cancelled a membership with Virgin Active Green Point? I called the gym early last year to cancel and was directed to the call centre as branches cannot cancel telephonically. I called the call centre. I don't know what their function is because I got exactly no help and was advised to go to the club. No being able to get to the club being the main indication for cancelling. Time passed. Then the club revamps, and takes off a substantial amount of money for a membership I have clearly not used. Evidently, the prolonged absence of a member is immaterial in these sorts of matters. I went to the club the club on 05/03/2026 to sort out the mess and was pleased to helped by someone who appreciated the absurdity of the situation. I was advised that the membership would be cancelled without penalty, and the amount reimbursed. I called again 16/03/2026. The membership is yet to be cancelled and even after I explained the general lack of help from the call centre, the person who helped me asked, with all the indifference, to call the call centre. So what must happen now?
Tired of being overcharged by PnP Observatory, Cape Town. Unfortunately I am aware that a policy exists whereby noting that one is being overcharged, there is some sort of recompense. Today, at a self check-out, I again (recent similar experience), got charged more than the self price. A manager (who I am not sure understands this policy herself) explained to me that no amends would be made because I hadn't actually paid the money. I asked her to explain differently to help me understand; she did not. Essentially, the onus is on the customer to make sure that they are not systematically overcharged, and then when noted... well... nothing. The real rub here is that this PnP primarily serves a student population. It's completely unacceptable.
Hello, how can we trust you to keep us safe when after I asked the person checking me in for my flight from Cape Town airport to sanitise after handing me back my ID went in search for sanitiser and came back empty-handed. It’s over a year on... surely not! He felt justified telling me “they don’t give us!”, as though that is a reasonable response. Local flight - airline irrelevant because I assume ACSA has oversight. Do better please.
Consider sorting out the flow and order that customers are allowed into the store and helped and spend less time lecturing them on how to wait their turn (terribly patronising approach to serving customers) There used to be a great team there; a pity.

Completely blown away by the ABSA Fraud Division. Within 3 minutes (yes, I checked) of making an unusual payment, I got a call to confirm that I had made the transaction! Plus, the guy I spoke with was lovely :) A reassuring experience! Thank you
I cancelled my account at the end of last year and my line was deactivated on the 26th of December 2017. I received an invoice for January 2018 and was subsequently debited. I have just received an invoice for February... despite numerous efforts to correct the January error! I was starting to appreciate Telkom as a substantial service provider :( An example: telkom double debited me last year; I alerted them and a correction was made within 48 hours! What’s with the fluctuating service! Please stop taking money for a service you are not providing... I think that’s called theft :(
Long overdue report. I was a client of the bank for more than a decade (close on 2) and the level of service deteriorated to the point that I chose to close my account at the end of December. I was told at the Rivonia branch that I had to withdraw the remains in my account for the account to be closed. Lo and behold, I receive an sms earlier in the month about some debit order. Today, I receive the generic \my pleasure to help you"response BUT my account is still active! I am not surprised in the least... A case in point"
