I have struggled for YEARS to sort out my billing with these people, wasting a fortune on phone calls and sending emails that are unanswered. They have double billed me for water and sewage for years - charged me for two properties when I only have one. The last time I spoke to them, they made me hold on the line for almost two hours while they "investigated". I spoke to someone called Koleka. At the end of the call she acknowledged the mistake and said I would be reimbursed. A month later I received an email saying my matter "a payment plan and of late payment" had been resolved. I HAVE NO PAYMENT PLAN NOR LATE PAYMENTS. I have paid all the bills, despite them being incorrect, for years. I have lived in other cities and none of their Municipalities are so useless. No wonder Johannesburg is falling apart with all these useless SEOs. Joburg Connect - you suck. But no doubt your fat cats are making billions off us.
I called them about my kitten Binky, who has an eye problem in one eye. My local vet was not sure what caused it, and Binky also has juvenile gingivitis, so I was worried. On the phone their receptionist said it could be FIP, which is a deadly virus, and this obviously made me completely panic-stricken. I then made an appointment the following week with their cat specialist to assess the kitten. When I called again prior to this appointment to ask a question I was told I was not welcome at their practice. This was extremely surprising, confusing and upsetting. I had an appointment and then they just cancelled it, after telling me my kitten possibly has a deadly condition. They said they refused to see me due to me missing an appointment 15 months before - for my other cat Zorro, who ended up having recurring pancreatitis and had to be put to sleep. The ordeal with Zorro was extremely harrowing for me, he was my companion of 18 years. I missed the appointment because I had a stomach bug that day and was too sick, which I did convey at the time. They said they had spoken to my partner at the time, I don't even know why they would have his number. I was very confused by all this and offered to pay for the missed appointment but they still refused to honour the appointment we had made for the following week. I was never rude to anyone at this practice and I find it cruel and careless that their receptionist told me that my kitten might have a deadly disease, and then they cancelled my booking based on events 15 months ago. Apparently it was Dr Miller himself who told them that his practice refused to treat my kitten, but I have never even met Dr Miller nor have I even spoken to him. Surely it is not ok or professional for a receptionist to be offering diagnoses on the phone and then for the vet to refuse to treat a very serious disease with no proper justification? There was no proper justification or reason given for this vet refusing to treat my kitten as I have never been rude to anyone at this vet and offered to settle the amount for the outstanding consult, despite being too sick to attend at the time. These people seem more concerned about their own egos and taking umbrage for fictitious offences than about the animals who are suffering. In my view their behaviour is a violation of the SAVC code of conduct, which states that: "A good veterinarian makes an uncompromising commitment to sound professional, moral and ethical practice, based on dedication to the health and welfare of animals". I also believe the receptionist behaved in violation of section 3.5 of the SAVC code of conduct on "TELEPHONIC/VERBAL ADVICE TO CLIENTS", she is not a vet and was telling me that my kitten possibly had FIP, then this practice refused treatment.
Stay away from these useless *****sters. They were recommended by Patio Warehouse and I will be reporting their behaviour to Patio Warehouse, so hopefully they will not lure in any more unsuspecting customers. They took my deposit and returned my outdoor furniture with the fabric too short and now they refuse to fix this or refund my money.

Don't bother buying fabric online from Chamdor. They will send you a COMPLETELY different colour. This happened twice now. I ordered GREY pvc mesh and it arrived BLUE. I then tried to order a STONE/ BEIGE colour and it was BRIGHT WHITE. I've spent hundreds of rands on fabric that I cannot use. Waste of time and money.
These people are ****mers, in my very honest opinion, based on my experiences. In my case, they promised to slash my repayments by about R8000 per month. On that basis, I agreed to go under debt review with Debt Rescue, despite my bank offering to restructure my debt to help me pay it off. Debt Rescue also said their lawyers would help me fight a case of reckless lending against my bank. As soon as I signed up with them, however ALL these promises vanished. Their latest, after I signed up, is that their lawyers won't help me, and that in their opinion now my bank did not give me reckless credit. They also came back with a new amount that is not even R3000 less than what I was paying before, when they promised R8000 less in their quote. I actually regard this as ***** and false advertising, and would like to report them. I WANT OUT! If I had known all this beforehand I would rather have just restructured my debt repayments with my bank. Going under debt review is not a decision to take lightly, I tried to be VERY careful and thought it through, based on their offers and false promises. I want out of any engagement with them, and would actually like to report them to the NCR.
I cannot believe this is a private company and not a state-run flop. I have not had internet for 4 days but there is no service at all from Vumatel. Afrihost initially said the fault would be fixed in 24-48 hours. Now they say they cannot do anything because it's up to Vumatel who provides the line. Also - there is no way to communicate with Vumatel, I can only communicate with Afrihost. Johannesburg is broken thanks to Vumatel.
I have not had internet in 3 days. I reported this to Afrihost immediately and have been trying to communicate with Afrihost about this, and they promised the problem would be addressed in 24-48 hours. I know realise this is just nonsense that they tell people to make them go away. I have also been sending messages via their client portal, and then I noticed that the email address where the replies are coming from is literarily called abuse@afrihost.com. In other words they think it's a joke that they "abuse" their customers! I have lost hope that the problem will be sorted. At this stage I'm looking for another ISP as Afrihost thinks its customers are a joke.
The only good thing I can say about Bestmed is that they pay the minimum as required. But you will need Gap cover. Your Gap cover provider will then need documentation from the Medical Aid stating what has been covered and what has not been covered. This is where the problem arises: Bestmed completely ignores my requests for this information. They do not reply in a timeous manner to emails, and trying to reach them by phone is impossible.
they don't answer emails and it's impossible to contact anyone on the phone. they make mistakes on your claim statements that cost you tens of thousands of rands. I believe this medical aid should be disciplined by the ombud or struck off the roll of medical aids
