I am tired of the "take it or leave it" attitude of many shops that sell irrigation supplies in the Bellville Area. No customer service. Spilhous Boland in Stikland is an exception to that trend. Werner and his team have gone out of their way to help me and to provide suggestions for my situation and to go the extra mile to get the goods that I needed - even though they did not stock it. Well done! You have won my loyalty.
Kudos to Jason and his team for a flawless and quick installation! Despite some challenging logistical issues with their bakkie, and having to delay installation by a day, the company kept us informed as to their situation, and turned up on time. The work was neatly done, and the results are very satisfactory. The pricing was also very reasonable.
After phoning 8 local suppliers of Nutec houses, Arbor Designs was one of only two to have the courtesy to reply. Many of these "Nutec" businesses seems to be "fly-by-nights" quick to take your money but not to deliver. They paid us several visits to check on the measurements, ask questions about our needs, make suggestions and were up front with all the specifications and options. House was completed very quickly (less than a week) and is exactly what we had asked for. Only thing that customers should be careful of, is to check their T&Cs, what they will and will not provide but that should be standard with all businesses. We are very happy with our Nutec house.
Marnus Visser from TimberMaintenance.co.za came to look at the problem that we were having with our Oregon Pine Flooring in our house. Although the house originally had Oregon pine flooring throughout that we had sanded and sealed, the section at the front door was installed later when we converted the stoep into a new entrance and extension of the lounge. With the wet winter or 2020, rain had seeped in under the flooring and the Oregon pine flooring had stated to buckle and lift. Another company had been approached but it seems they did not want to tackle the job. Marnus came and inspected the damage and up front warned us of the risks and the potential for problems, but assured us that he and his team would give it their best shot. The job was completed within the deadline, the carpenter, Sidwell, who did the job, identified several serious issues with the previous installation and corrected it, keeping us informed of the progress and provided us with feedback and suggestions. The end result was quite satisfactory and we are very happy with the work that they have done. If you have old wooden flooring that needs some TLC then TimberMaintenance.co.za should be on the top of your go.to list.
Maintech Plumbing helped me install and create a greywater and rainwater harvesting system at my House. They had plenty of experience and were certainly creative with their solutions that they offered. They always worked within my budget and always tried to get the most cost effective solution that could be expanded and adapted later. I am very happy. Also when repairs and servicing had to be done Ruan and his team were always quick to respond.
I did an earlier review with Telkom about them *****ing up the porting of my Telkom number to my ISP for VOIP. I got an e-mail from a "Senior Associate: Retentions" a Mr Warren David who assured me that my number would be reinstated for porting, as Telkom had *****ed up the porting and despite cancellation of the service were still sending me bills. I contacted my ISP today 4 weeks later (keeping in mind that I have been without a telephone line for more than a month!) and they told me that Telkom had rejected the port a 3rd time. I contacted Telkom (waiting for 35 minutes before my call was answered) only to be told that the Order Reference Number for reinstatement has been cancelled AGAIN. (This is the 3rd time!) All I can say that if you are thinking of using Telkom as a service provider, don't be an idiot. Their poor service and gross incompetence is astounding. I cannot wait to be rid of them.!
I got fiber in my neighborhood, and decided to change my ADSL to fiber. I contacted my ISP, CyberSmart, and they explained to me what to do to cancel the DSL and the Telkom line and to ask that the Telkom number be put into a pool to port across to the ISP for VOIP. Telkom instead cancelled everything (I have been without a phone line for 1 months now) and rejected the ISP request for the port. They have been sending me ad hoc charges for the line (which hasn't worked since late July) (R15.00)and have rejected the ISP's request for porting 3 times already. 1. because customer cancelled the line (which they admit they made a mistake on) 2. Customer has outstanding amount of R15 (paid already) and now 3. The customer didn't request a port to the holding pool. (IOW back to where I started with them) What a bunch of incompetent fools! The sooner I get free from Telkom the better.
It is now the 18th of February, almost 5 months later and still no sign of Vumatel making good on their promise of restoring the damage that they did to our paving outside our house in Bellville while underground fiber was being installed in our suburb. I was contacted telephonically by a Vumatel representative in November who promised he would pay me a visit at the latest the week of 10 December. I am still waiting... All calls to the Vumatel call centre (close to 10 now) have proved fruitless as I get the "runaround" with "promises" that someone will contact me. Recently the agent at the call center stated that the call had been closed as the "customer had indicated that they were satisfied with the repair work". This makes no sense as since the repairs have not been done to my satisfaction, and if I was happy then why would I be calling to say I am not happy? Now I have been told that the issue is with "senior management" and that nothing can be done until "senior management" have answered. Senior management is a euphemism for "ignore the client and drag your feet until the client gives up and goes away". Vumatel ought to be rebranded to Zuma-tel - Corrupt and incompetent.
I placed order for 2 replacement optical drives on the 26th December 2015 from FirstShop. I was mailed on the 5 January to tell me that my order would arrive at FS warehouse on 6 January 2016 and confirmed that delivery to Cape Town would take 3-5 working days, making ETA on delivery on 13th January at the latest.

On 8th January I was mailed me to tell me that \there was a huge mixup with the order\" and that of my two units in stock, one had been given to another, but they would ship one down to me in the meantime.

I waited until 18 January for the first optical drive to arrive. On the 18th I was told that the ETA for stock to arrive was the \"1st week of February\".

On the 20 January I was told the order would now arrive at the Gauteng warehouse on 5th February 2016.

Further mails on 28 January and 8 February about delivery dates recieved no reponse.

On the 15th February, I was mailed again and told that the stock had come in but \"someone\" had picked up my stock and given it to another client. Furthermore I was told that the optical drive was now \"EoL\" and no further stock was available. OEM units were offered. OEM units finally arrived on 22nd February 2016. (2 months late)"
