On the 3rd of March 2025, I sent 1Life's headstone service provider (Metgran) final confirmation and receipt from the cemetery that we can put up a headstone for my father. Was promised that it will be ready in 3 - 4months being July 2025 the latest. Followed up on the 22nd of July 2025 about it since the time had elapsed and was told that the Headstone was still in manufacturing and that they would get back to me once done. It is now End of October 2025, 8 months later and still no headstone has been received. After laying a complaint, I was once again told that the headstone is still in manufacturing and no timeline is available as to when it will be available. Requested a cash payout on it rather and was once again given another long wait by the service provider (Metgran) with an excuse that, "Payment will be done, but they dont know when it will be done". Im assuming a long wait of 8months again." They give no priority to clients, bad in communication and truely the poorest service provider I have come across.

Im assuming a long wait of 8months again. I am laying this complaint with 1Life because my relationship is with them and not "Metgran". I truely have no business with Metgran as 1Life is who I deal with directly and expect service delivery from 1Life. At the pace this enquiry is going, it shows no urgency whatsoever in prioritizing me as 1Lifes client, for a great push would have been given from their end to their service provider to resolve my issue. I also have a great consideration in cancelling whatever policy i have left with them because it is going to be a great drag again come a time such promise from them needs to be met.
I'm being harrassed by Vodacom and debt collectors because of their staff being incompetent. Have a contract with Vodacom, paid it off March 2020 at their Sandton branch if memory serves me well. Requested that they cancel it because I am no longer carrying on with it, which at the branch, they agreed to. months later I get sms' that I owe Vodacom, followed calls of demand and was only told then that I was supposed to call the cancellation dept to get the contract cancelled which was never mentioned to me. Paid the outstanding amouting of a R1000 odd with the last payment being in december, which is money i couldv used on my kids. Called into the cancellations dept on the 31st of December 2020 in the morning hours and spoke to Mandisa, call ref(1-34873854631257) and she assured me that the contract will be cancelled.. my contract is still not cancelled because i am receiving calls daily...****erally daily) reminding me that i need to pay my contract and all consultants who call always hang up on me when I inform them that i paid it off. The last lady i spoke to yesterday (05/02/2021) at 11h23am was Lerato and also hung up on me. I know got a call from Ms. Nulu at VVM attorneys who is now also demanding that i pay the amount....what the HELL needs to happen to get my bluddy profile sorted out and completely cut ties with Vodacom... <p>I withdrew my savings with Old Mutual with the hope that I would contribute to my Dearest Aunts funeral last weekend!!</p> <p>From a turn-around time for the funds to be available in my account of 5 days, it is now 3 weeks. I am glad I have no Funeral cover for myself and family with Old Mutual, cos I wonder if it were a Funeral cover claim, what would have happened then. I've got a retirement annuity with Old Mutual as well and have a good mind of shifting over elsewhere. Or does OM think when one surrenders an Investment account, it is for "funs Sake"? </p> <p>If anyone surrenders an Investment policy, (as per customer trends/service evaluation), since you have been in the industry for a while, you should know that it is for EMERGENCY purposes. I MADE MY FIRST CALL TO MIWAY INSURANCE AT 02H00PM. WAS ASSISTED BY MR S MATBETE WHO PROVIDED ME WITH GREAT SERVICE. ON THE FINAL BIT OF THE QUOTE, HE THEN INFORMED ME THAT HE CANNOT ASSIST ME FURTHER BECAUSE OF A QUOTE I DID WITH A BROKER WEEKS BACK. IF I WANTED TO CONTINUE WITH A BROKER(DONT EVEN HAVE THEIR CONTACT DETAILS), I WOULD'VE CALLED THEM, BUT CALLED MIWAY DIRECTLY. WAS THEN TOLD I WILL BE CALLED BACK, TO CONTINUE FOR THEY NEED TO CONTACT THE BROKER TO CLOSE THEIR APP AND THEN CONTINUE. CALLED IN AGAIN AT 16H15, SPOKE TO A GUY WHO PUT ME ON HOLD FOR 30MIN AND THE HUNG UP.CONTACTED MIWAY AGAIN AT PAST 5PM, SPOKE TO THABO WHO THEN REFERRED ME TO HIS TEAM LEADER, \OKO\", WHO PROMISED THAT I WILL GET A CALL FROM THE BROKER MANAGER IN 5MIN.AN HOUR HAS GONE AND NO PHONE CALL. IS THIS THE KIND OF BUSINESS YOU RUN? WHAT KIND OF SYSTEMS DO YOU WORK ON, WHERE YOU CANNOT TAKE ANY REQUEST OF A CUSTOMER FOR I REPEATEDLY MENTIONED THAT I DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH A BROKER.??
