They are back sending me WhatsApp threats again, the same story as in 2023. Demanding me to pay a cancellation fee for something I did not renew...I previously asked for proof, and she said they had a voice recording as proof, but no signed paperwork. They keep threatening me that if I don't pay that amount, they will blacklist me. They are ****mers looking for money. I blocked them previously, but they are using another number now, so i blocked them again, will probably hear from them again in 2027.
Stay away from Business directory and Amalgamated Business directory, (it’s the same company) Do not take calls from them at all, the moment they contact you with an offer just drop the call, block them, you will do yourself a huge favour. The following info about Business Directories: 1. Amalgamated Business directory CC nr 2003/069845/23, de-registered in Aug 2020. 2. Amalgamated Business Directory Cc nr 2018/068971/07 incorp date 2018. They are active. Also known as “Business Directory” , or on google ” Business Direcory 101” (all the same with slightly different web’s ) May 2016, I got a call from a lady offering me a "special" on advertising. At 1st I said no, but she convinced me and I agreed the following offer: R1500.00 for a business add for a period of 12-months on Business Directory and other sites on google, including design, artwork, advertising, everything…all included for only R1500.00. She offered to send a draft and said the add will be active after approval and payment. There were no terms and conditions mentioned, I kept on repeating everything to make sure there were no other hidden fees or surprises. It was a very informal telephone conversation we had, there were no formal telephonic agreement between us i can remember off, like where you have to give consent and agree to all terms and conditions by replying yes or no. The conversation was not recorded i know off because she did not mention recording it. The only paperwork I have is the invoice she sent on 10.5.2016 stated the add. refr. Nr for a time period off 12 months from date of insertion. No terms and conditions, no fine writing, nothing. I paid it and never heard from them again. The add was listed, but with the wrong street name, it was never rectified. I never heard from them again until 13/07/2023. A lady from Business Directory started sending me WhatsApp’s and SMS’s, demanding payment for an outstanding fee. I sent her a copy of the invoice and proof of payment I did back in 2016, then she said yes, what I sent was payment for the invoice but now I have to pay them another R1500 to cancel it from google otherwise they will keep on advertising and keep on billing me. She said they can’t cancel the add without us paying that fee. She said I was responsible to cancel the add after the 12 months expired, at a cancellation fee of R1500. This was never mentioned on our telephone conversation, nor emails…They are the ones responsible to follow up and delete expired adds not the client, I did not renew the add or gave them permission to keep on advertising after the 12 months. She then said everything is on band recordings so I insisted her to send me the recording …or any other valid proof but then she told me it was not necessary to mention the cancellation fee earlier because it is standard and everyone knows it, she told me I’m childish, and one of the most difficult clients and all other clients understood and paid cancellation fees. She then said she is done talking to me and is going to blacklist me and mark me as bad payer on google … she also mentioned her day for listing people on ITC and for taking them off from ITC is usually on Fridays until 15h00 . On Saturday ,15/7 at 06.23am I received another WhatsApp message from her where she demanded payment of R1500 otherwise she is going to blacklist. The company I dealt with in 2016 was Amalgamated Business directory CC nr 2003/069845/23, they were non - compliant since 2016 and was de-registered in 2020. The company threatening me and others is Amalgamated Business Directory Cc nr 2018/068971/07.

i want to thank Sunasha for her great service helping me with my querry. im sure it will be solved soon
Yesterday I did an upgrade, but at the end of the call, the salesperson told me there is no stock available of the apple iPhone pro 256g. So I phoned to cancel the upgrade cause I thought of postponing it to January when the phone will be available. The person who assisted me, Suraksha, cancelled it but immediately convinced me to upgrade my sim to a black Friday deal, Mega gigs xsmall, where I will only pay 149.00 per month, and she said I can add the iphone at a later stage when it is available. It sounded good, I accepted it even though I was not really happy because I wanted to do the upgrade with a handset cause the last time I received a new handset was 2018 and that phone is giving me problems. She did not offer to search for other available deals or specials. Later during the day another agent phoned me regarding the upgrade, and I told him what happened he said I will only be able to get a phone when I do an early upgrade which means I have to pay up the remaining balance of the upgrade I just took out, and that Suraksha did not tell me. So I start phoning trying to cancel this upgrade and eventually, Judy assisted me, she was very helpful and went out of her way assisting me and she found an upgrade for me on one of the black Friday talk packages where I will receive 17g data and 525 minutes of Talktime monthly at only R949 per month and with an apple iphone 14 pro 256g and she said there were 2 phones available. She went through the whole process and tried to cancel the 1st upgrade and do the new to do the new upgrade with a handset, we did the sale agreement, and then she wanted to confirm if the 1st sim upgrade was cancelled, and her manager said that the Suraksha, the lady who handled the 1st sim upgrade need to phone me and do the reversal/cancellation of the 1st upgrade and she will handle the new upgrade the one with the handset, they said she will phone me immediately, but she did not. So I tried to get hold of her for about 2 hours, I left multiple messages, and emails were sent to her and her manager, but no luck, then I phoned and got hold of Judy and she told Suraksha to phone me she said she will phone me immediately, but still no luck. She never phoned me. if she or her manager just can contact me but it seems like they just dont care
My Mtn contract expired and I had to do an upgrade, but I wasn’t ready to do the upgrade yet, and wanted to wait I also wanted to wait for the Apple Iphone 12 to be released before I do the upgrade. On Thursday, 08/10/2020, a MTN agent phoned me, I was told afterwards she was a sales lady for RewardsCo or Mondo . I immediately told her I’m not ready to do an upgrade yet and I also wanted to wait for the Apple 12 to be released later this year. She then told me the contract I was on had expired, and it no longer exists and I have to do the upgrade, she said I could get a new handset later I just need to go the a MTN store and apply for an additional line then I get my new handset and she actually encourage me to do that because she said a lot of people are doing it lately because it work out to be cheaper. She really made me feel obligated to upgrade because my package was no longer in use. I agreed but the whole time I wanted to tell her not to go ahead with the upgrade but then she mentioned I have two weeks to cancel. After we spoken I looked on Mtn’s web, and found a cheaper package I would rather prefer I and decided it will be best if I do an upgrade and choose a handset with the upgrade but on a later stage. I don’t want to apply for an additional line later on it will be too expensive . About two hours after our telephone conversation I sent an email to Mtn and requested to cancel the upgrade. Refr. Nr. 3435571. On Friday morning I sent a follow up email to cancel the upgrade, refr. 3439296. I received a SMS from Mtn saying they hit pause on my credit check until they have all the documents they needed, no one asked me for any documents and on 15h00 Friday afternoon I received a sms saying my order, 1-2107841630 was submitted. I then dialled the number of the agent and spoken to Ethan and told him to cancel, he then said he have to speak to his manager about it and will come back to me early Monday morning, 12/10. I never heard from him again. On Monday I almost use all of my airtime trying to get someone to help me, but was referred from one Dept. to another, and from one number to another, I almost spent the whole day on my phone holding the line for Mtn agents to assist only to hear it’s not their problem and to be transferred to another dept. I heard I could not cancel as the upgrade was activated on Sunday, 11/10, that is 3 days after I tried to cancel. I then said I have been told I have two weeks to cancel, but that seems to be like a problem, and no one wanted to assist. At some stage I’ve been told to phone retentions, so I did sent them an email, never got any reference or response, so I phone them and was told I can’t really cancel, but I have 7 days and if I cancel I will have to pay for the penalty , and will only be able to upgrade in 2022. He then transferred me to customer services, and the lady there told me that I was not obligated to do the upgrade if my contract expired I could still use the same contract until I’m ready to do an upgrade and no one can tell me when to do the upgrade, she transferred me to someone who sent an email to the right dept. and gave me a reference nr 1/2165296630. She said if I do not hear from them in 48 hours, I must contact them again. Today is 48 hours, no word from them. I cannot hold another 3 hours to get through to someone who will be able to assist only to get a new reference number. On 14/10, I phoned again. I spoke to Nadine, she said she could see my case on their system, she said the upgrade was done through a 3rd company, Rewardsco, and the sales lady miss informed me. I was being transferred to Rewardsco, spoken to someone who asked all my details, and gave me the cancellation refr. number of RC0111737. On 20/10, I have been invoiced with pro-rata fees from 9/10 to 16/10, and with the monthly fee starting from 16/10. I phoned Mtn they told me nothing has been cancelled the have not heard from Rewardsco. I phoned Rewardsco they looked it up, nothing has been cancelled, the lady said she can trace a refr nr. from the email they sent to MTN, it is refr. 3453720. I’m still receiving sms’s saying they hit pause on my credit because they are waiting for some documents. Ive been sending emails for 3 weeks now, I spoken to sso many departments and have so many reference numbers! And each time im being told that the 3rd party never sent Mtn any cancellations. I have a reference number Rewardsgo gave me, not to be traced on Mtn’s systems. On 26/10 I received an email from Mondo with a reference asked if my problem was solved and I replied it’s not so im still waiting for feedback no one came back to me since then,,, I need this upgrade to be cancelled without any additional / penalty fees as I was misled. It seems like Rewardsco or Mondo are trying their absolute best not to cancel

She really made me feel obligated to upgrade because my package was no longer in use. She offered me two packages, one was R999,00 and the other R699.00. I decide on the cheaper option “ Mtn Made for Me X-Large” but in my heart it did not felt right it was still too expensive and I was not sure what an additional line with a new handset will cost, so I agreed but the whole time I wanted to tell her not to go ahead with the upgrade but then she mentioned I have two weeks to cancel if I felt like it. After we spoken, I looked on Mtn’s web, and found a cheaper package I would rather prefer I then looked at my budget, and decided it will be best if I do an upgrade and choose a handset with the upgrade , I don’t want to apply for an additional line later on it will be too expensive and I do need a new phone I can’t wait for 2022 to get another phone, so about two hours after our telephone conversation I sent an email to Mtn and requested to cancel the upgrade. I’m still receiving sms’s saying they hit pause on my credit because they are waiting for some documents. I’m sending this to Hellopeter, cause I don’t know what to do anymore….perhaps one of MTN and Rewardsco managers will attend to this matter ASAP, and cancel this upgrade without any additional / penalty fees as I was misled. l would still like to upgrade on a later stage when I’m ready. It seems like Rewardsco tried their absolute best to get the order trough as quickly as possible and make it impossible for me to cancel.
