FNB Debt Review Centre – Repeated Broken Promises & Unanswered Calls I have been a debt review client with FNB since November 2022 with an unbroken payment record of 39 consecutive payments. I have a legitimate query regarding my account (40535015359) where an incorrect interest rate has been app**** — something FNB's own consultant has acknowledged needs to be corrected. What I cannot get is anyone to actually resolve it. Since 7 March 2026 this is what has happened: Multiple emails sent — all read, most ignored Sharon Trollip (Service Recovery Consultant) committed to feedback on 10 March — nothing received Committed again on 11 March — nothing received Committed again on 14 March — nothing received Called in, held for 10 minutes — no answer Left a voicemail — no callback Called again today 16 March, held for 9 minutes waiting for a manager — no answer I am not a difficult customer. I pay every month without fail and I am simply asking for a known error to be corrected. Instead I am being passed from pillar to post with broken promises and unanswered phones. FNB — your customers deserve better than this.
Trying your online chat, been waiting for 30 minutes and nothing. MY installement went up to R749 pm. I want to downgrade this, simply cant afford these increases when the service is not up to scratch
My accounts are with Consumer Friend on my Makro, Coricraft and Game accounts. Although I have paid consistently on debt review for 3.5 years, the balance owing currently is more than the capital balance and interest rates charge are still contractual and not reduced to to being under debt review, no termination notice was issued by Consumer friend they just take my payments monthly and this has taken me over 7 months to try resolve to protect me as the consumer. Should I not receive a solution from RCS/Consumer friend I will report this matter to the NCR. Tribunal and wherever I need to.
Good day Mr Seath We acknowledge receipt of your email. The FirstRand Debt Review Centre confirms we are currently investigating the below. Kindly note feedback will be provided within the next 72 hours. We trust you find the above in order. Regards This was from Sharon Trollip on the 10th of February, I followed up 72hrs later, no reply, I followed up on the 16th, 19th and 26th and still no answer.
despite emails to Consumer friend/ Maheshree John and from my DC giving 7 days, my request and my DC's request has fallen on deaf ears, leaving me as the consumer in limbo, 3.5 years of committed payments and not one missed payment yet Consumer friend refuse to reply or assist and make contradictions. I have paid for over 3 years no missed payments and Consumer friend is still charging contractual interest when they have accepted payments all this time and not terminated my arrangement, happy to collect money but just wont help a consumer begging for assistance. I remain committed are you to me and your other clients? Dear John, I hope you are well. I am writing personally as the affected consumer in this matter. To date, I have paid a total of R83 308,70 across the accounts under debt review. The original capital amount was R109 992,86. Despite this, the current alleged remaining balance stands at R127 639,66. ( This is across the 3 accounts with you ) In other words, I have paid approximately 75% of the original capital, yet the outstanding balance now reflects more than 116% of the initial amount. This position is difficult to reconcile and is understandably concerning. I have consistently comp**** with my obligations for over three years and remain committed to resolving this responsibly. However, I cannot reasonably consent to or proceed with court re-enrolment based on figures that remain disputed and unsupported by a detailed reconciliation. I respectfully request that this matter be treated as urgent and that the reconciled IPDA ledger, full transaction-level breakdown, and written justification for the balance escalations be provided within the stipulated timeframe. I remain committed to an amicable and constructive resolution and trust that we can resolve this without the need for further escalation. Kind regards, Darren Seath

FNB debt review centre does not reply to emails since over 8 months ago. I pay my debt review and have done so for over 3 years yet my balances do not seem to decrease at all. My debt counsellors have reached out to FNB but they dont seem willing to assist in anyway. I have consistently paid and not missed a single payment yet FNB '' how can we help you'' doesn't live up to this at all
I have been battling through my debt counsellor to review my accounts as I have paid for over 3 years, yet my balances do not decrease. Consumer friend has been contacted emailed but nothing to date.
