For the past 2 and a half months I've been back and forth to Computer Mania( CM) due to issues with keyboards I've bought from them. Initially I purchased a Razer keyboard from them. Within just under 2 months, a few keys were starting to fade and scratch, causing the lettering to disfigure. I contacted their support branch in Montague Gardens, and spoke to Michael, who was extremely helpful, professional, and punctual and assisted me throughout the entire ordeal. He organized that a replacement Razer keyboard was sent to the branch I purchased the original keyboard from. Upon picking up the replacement keyboard, the staff at the Pinelands branch were friendly and happy to assist me. A little under 2 weeks after receiving the replacement keyboard, only one key started to fade, but pretty badly, that there was no more lettering on that specific key, but rather a smudge from the backlight shining through. I contacted Michael again and asked for either a refund/credit or a swap out for a different brand of keyboard. He was yet again happy to assist me and organized a swap out keyboard of my choice. (I chose the Cougar brand). Upon collecting the swap out unit, the manager himself at the Pinelands branch spoke to me and was friendly to assist me in any way possible. Upon getting home and testing out the new keyboard, three keys didn't work. I took that keyboard back to CM and got a new keyboard (Logitech, a different brand to the last two aforementioned brands). I asked the manager to test the keyboard in front of me and all was within working order. I understand that durability of a unit, and a unit being defective is not CM's fault, but rather a QC fault from the manufacturer's side. While the past 2 months have been frustrating due to products not working as intended, or the durability of said product was subpar to what was advertised, the CM Pinelands team, along with Michael from customer support have been extraordinary with helping me resolve this matter and keeping their customers happy. I would highly recommend the Pinelands CM branch to those in Cape Town and surrounding areas. I will definitely be purchasing products from them again in the future.
My experience with you has been nothing but appalling. I used your service for a while but due to latency and connectivity issues, I was forced to get fibre installed for what I am needed to do online. I cancelled my account with you guys at the end of July, and you guys came and collected the router on the 11th of September, but I haven't been using your services since the fibre was installed mid August. I cancelled my account with you guys, the router has been collected, yet I'm still charged at the end of September for a service that I've not been using. I want my money back.
If possible, I would give this company a rating below zero. Absolutely terrible service and communication. The delivery of my parcel was scheduled for 18:00PM today according to the tracking on their website. The delivery driver showed up at my complex 5 hours earlier than the stated delivery time, but I was out so missed the delivery (that's my fault). Within the hour, I tried to phone their support line three times. Firstly, the automated system on the other end bugged out and kept telling me my request was invalid when trying to select what I need assistance with. Tried phoning a second time and got into the waiting queue, then my call was cut. I phoned a third time and finally got through, I explained the situation and they assured me that my parcel would still be delivered the same day. They confirmed my address and said all was in order. Come 18:00PM, I received a SMS stating my parcel couldn't be delivered due to an address error. How the hell is that possible when the driver was LITERALLY AT MY COMPLEX hours before? The quality of service, communication, support, and level of professionalism from you guys is utterly dismal. Either you deliver on what you tell/promise your customers, or don't promise them anything at all.
What poor and unprofessional service from Standard Bank. I went to a branch a few months ago, waited in line for just on 2 hours because there was only one consultant available. I was helped by said consultant to change my online banking password. They said that a SMS would be sent to me within 48 hours to reset my password, even though they changed it on the system while I was in the branch. Months later and I'm still waiting on that SMS. Appalling service! Now I need to take time off work to go back to the bank and wait in the queue to redo the entire process. If this is how you as a bank handle small queries like changing of banking passwords, I don't even want to know how you handle bigger banking challenges/tasks. Shameful that the quality of service has drastically decreased over the years.
Be aware of a scam happening in South Africa by an agency going by the name of Henderson Property. I was nearly caught out by the fraudsters when applying for an apartment. I found a listing on Private Property, and proceeded to contact the agent managing the listing. The agent replied and sent the relevant application form. The application form looked professional at first glance and I proceeded to fill it out and get all the required documents in order. Before sending all the documents to the agent, I noticed a few red flags: 1. The agent's email address looked fishy. It had numbers in it ( the email address: hendersonproperty.1ptyltd@gmail.com) and was an ordinary Gmail account. (Normally agencies have their own email domain. i.e agents_name@seeff.com) 2. There was an application fee before I was even allowed to view the apartment. 3. I tried to go to the website URL provided by the agent in their email ( www.hendersonproperty.co.za) , and Google couldn't connect to the server/ return the website. Thinking the website was down or undergoing maintenance, I did a domain lookup (on https://who.is/) to find that there is in fact no website with that URL, and you can claim/register the domain for yourself. But, if you Google "Henderson Property" it shows an agency based in USA. 4. The name of the agent in the email, and the name of the person I spoke to on the phone were different. 5. I phoned the agent to arrange a viewing of the apartment before any documents were submitted, and he stated that I cannot view the apartment until my application has been sent, the application fees has been paid, and the application was successful, because the agent didn't want to waste time with people who aren't serious buyers/renters. I asked to speak to management and he want to supply me with only an email address and not a phone number. 6. I looked up on True Caller to see who the agent's number was registered to, and it was a different name/ person to the above names in point 4. 7. I tried to view the listing again on Private Property, and it has been taken down. 8. Upon looking at the application form again, I noticed that there was no reference number to the property I wanted to rent. I was almost caught out and scammed of R7.5k, but lucky I noticed the irregularities and stopped the process in it's tracks. Please be aware and check the fine details such as the application forms, the agent and agency you're wanting to buy/rent a listing from, make sure the agency you're going through is legit. It's the small things that one tends to overlook like that that can cause major stressors in your life. Lesson learned for me, and I'm just trying to spread the word for others out here in South Africa who have come across listings by an "agency" called Henderson Property.
When it comes to Rain, what an absolute deplorable use of the term 'ISP' to have in your name when you guys can't even provide customer/ technician services whatsoever, 4G/5G coverage is extremely limited, as well as internet connectivity is non-existent in areas that have coverage. On a daily basis I experience either no internet access, or the internet speed is so slow that, for example, our postal service would be quicker to send and receive documents and/or mail. To anyone reading this review, I would strongly advise against going with Rain as they are happy to take your money when you sign up, but you're pretty much on your own after that. Rain, you have left me no choice other than to look elsewhere for 4/5G packages as your services are inadequate and unsatisfactory. If it was possible I wouldn't give you any stars at all for this review.
