Burksies, Port Alfred. Great meals and staff
A small restaurant that has a targeted plan to excel in their chosen sphere... breakfasts, brunches, burgers and salads!@ They do it WELL, quickly, with great smiley staff and attention to your requests... value for money and view of the 'duck pond'!! Worth regular visits

A small restaurant that has a targeted plan to excel in their chosen sphere... breakfasts, brunches, burgers and salads!@ They do it WELL, quickly, with great smiley staff and attention to your requests... value for money and view of the 'duck pond'!! Worth regular visits

Support those who support others - R72 Saloon, Port Alfred
The owners do their utmost best to keep customers returning... (and chase away irritating, rude, noisy ones that spoil the calm small town character) Dot is a quadraplegic so the venue is totally wheelchair friendly - as is her partner and the staff. 1) Inside and outside areas for shelter and some privacy 2) Great pizza, Eisbein, curry and more. 3) Light lunch time snacks too. 4) Ample parking 5) Generators (a sad necessity) 6) Aviaries, free ranging chickens and rabbit hutch to entertain children. (Dogs must be on a leash obviously) 7) Supports local!! 8) Tries hard to give opportunities for fundraising events... donates time and profits. First Friday in Novmber - Excellent rock band, dance floor and an espatada special. Entrance fee is dog or cat food for the battling local SPCA First Saturday is a magician show followed by Boks vs Ireland on a big screen outside, 3 screens inside. Again, entrance fee is dog or cat food for the SPCA. They are also assisting in the "Movember' drive in support of our local Hospice. Judging of best moustache will take place on 30th November at R72 Saloon

R72 Saloon - hidden gem in Port Alfred
What a hardworking bunch of people! Owner, managers, waitresses, kitchen staff... All strive to make sure their clientele are safe, sanitized, served promptly with excellent well priced food. The inside restaurant is eccentric yet interesting and cozy. The outside area has birds, bunnies, chickens and a beautiful fish pond with private tables, open areas that all can view the music/ TV stage. There is wheelchair access, a fireplace and a great 'feel' of friendliness.

After investing in upgrades during Lock down you guys still forego profit for friendship. - What unselfish concern to assist one of the regulars!!
The owners and senior staff invested their time and effort during lock down to keep feeding their birds, fish and rabbits AS WELL AS renovating/ revamping and upgrading the bar and restaurant areas!! Toilets have new cladding and paint jobs, serving areas prepared for physical distancing, kitchen upgraded and painted, new water facilities, entertainment area improved for day and night time activities... right the way though to the storerooms!! *****You all deserve a 5 star clap AND NOW.... they are donating 20% of this Friday nights turnover to a young regular who has to undergo serious surgery, chemo and rehab.... what an unselfish dedication to clients and the betterment of the hospitality industry... Tears in my eyes for you Geoff, Dot, Lisa and Elisma amongst other staff members***** WELL DONE. THE MOVE TO LEVEL 2 SAW A HUGE INFLUX OF REGULARS AND NEW CLIENTS TO SAMPLE THE EXCELLENT FOOD, PRICES AND REVAMPED PREMISES. THE FLOW OF CLIENTS (ACTUALLY FRIENDS NOW) HASN'T DIMINISHED Furthermore, staff wear masks permanently, constantly sanitise themselves and surfaces, on the ball with names/ temperatures and other regulations.. SOOOO IMPRESSIVE

A pub/ restaurant that knows what it is!
What a refreshing pub/ restaurant atmosphere in this little town!! Unique decor inside with a beautiful garden 'feel' outside. Well stocked fridges with cold beer and wine combined with happy efficient staff who know how to advise you of their meals. I recommend their pizzas and burgers although all meals are served with pride. Excellent lunch time specials - value for money R60 meals. #SupportLocal WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY THROUGHOUT Children's play area combined with 2 large aviaries, a fish pond and a rabbit hutch. Musicians often perform on a weekend from a low stage Major sporting events are screened on a LARGE screen where an outside bar is open for quick service. A secluded area is also available for small private functions of up to 20 people

Value for money with excellent tasty meals and variety
EXCELLENT 'VALUE FOR MONEY' meals. Pizza's are superb. Relaxed atmosphere with unusual decor - tasteful and complimentary. Staff are attentive (not intrusive) trained and offer quick service even though 2 areas of seating - inside and outside. Often musicians on weekends. Totally geared for casual functions. 2 special meals on offer - M'rse burger.. (finish it with draught beer in one hour - it's free). M'rse pizza which is great for a small family. Owners wife is disabled so they are wheelchair friendly with wheelchair accessibility

E.g. egg, bacon, cheese tomato jaffle at R25 during the day; excellent pizzas; Happy hour Monday to Thursday 5-6.30pm SAB beers at around R11. Music is often played in the outside (mostly covered) entertainment area. + Kids playground, rabbit hutch, fish pond, vegetable garden Keen to host functions. Separate bar available for functions. DISABLED facilities (one owner is wheelchair bound so totally empathetic). Clean ablutions. Plenty parking front and back
