I had a very disappointing experience at the restaurant today that sadly overshadowed what could have been a lovely visit. When we needed to use the restroom, the owner told us — quite abruptly — that the indoor bathrooms were only for guests. Even after we explained that we were dining at the restaurant (paying customers), he still insisted we use the outdoor restrooms meant for trail walkers. He was rude and offensive towards us. Looking at other reviews on Hello Peter, it seems this sort of behaviour from the owner is not uncommon — frankly, it’s astounding that someone in hospitality could show such a lack of professionalism and respect for guests. On the positive side, the food was excellent and our waiter gave us fantastic service — friendly, helpful, and professional. The Nature Reserve is stunning and I’ll be back to enjoy the trails, but I won’t be returning to the restaurant.

Avoid Rademeyers at All Costs – A Horrible Experience! If I could give Rademeyers zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disgrace, and the owner/manager is by far the rudest, most unprofessional person I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry. He has no regard for guests, treats people like garbage, and seems to think he’s running a prison camp rather than a venue and restaurant. His attitude is dismissive, arrogant, and downright hostile—if you have any complaints, you’re met with an attitude that basically says, “If you don’t like it, leave.” I had friends who got married here, and their experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The way they were treated on what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives was appalling. The staff was unhelpful, the management was completely indifferent, and instead of making their special day stress-free, Rademeyers made it a frustrating and upsetting experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy for a wedding or any event. The restaurant is equally **********. I have given it two chances in the last month, and both times were a disaster. The food is absolutely shocking. I ordered a toasted sandwich, and what I received was a mess—old, stale, oily bread, way too much cheese, and no ham at all. It was inedible. The chips? Disgusting. Overcooked, tasteless, and clearly made with the cheapest ingredients possible. There is zero attention to quality, and it’s obvious that the management doesn’t care. The service is just as bad. The waiters look like they are on death row, completely lifeless and uninterested in serving customers. When you arrive, don’t expect a friendly greeting—expect to be ignored. The service is painfully slow, and the overall attitude of the staff is, “You chose to be here, so deal with it.” It’s beyond unprofessional. The only positive thing about this place is its location within the Moreletapark Nature Reserve. The setting is beautiful, but unfortunately, Rademeyers completely ruins the experience. The management is an absolute disgrace to the hospitality industry, and the restaurant is a joke. Do yourself a favor—go literally anywhere else. Rademeyers is a perfect example of how bad management and terrible service can completely destroy a business. Avoid it at all costs.

What a terrible experience. The rejection was felt like a stabbing dagger! 14 July '24. We walk the Moreleta Kloof trail daily over weekends and always have drinks and pizza afterwards at Rademeyer's restaurant. The waiters in general already know our order in advance! Today we were met by the "manager", a white Afrikaans old man, with a hostile and aggressive attitude (not the first time either) and told they are full. Bluntly refusing us entry. Yet there were open tables! I have photos to proof it! What a disappointment! Get your house in order, you were rude to the people in front of us as well. Where are your manners and customer service? Just look at the reviews in general, let this guy go, he is causing the beautiful setting much harm.

This restaurant is at Moreleta kloof nature reserve, they do functions they have venues, but what I have noticed was such a bad experience, OK when you do ur function you are charged for venue + food, right but my worry is on food, they use the same food for the last week function for next week function, in short if there's any left over for this week function, those left over food will be served for a next week function no customer is allowed to take food away that they have paid for, they care for profit, they don't Care about the healthy for a client, come on it's a buffet bulk food, how wicked are they, this I found it when I worked for them, till now it's a same song, this is a municipal nature reserve, what kind picture are they giving to citizens, government must act to such, citizens health are on danger even the kind of treatment they give to his and her workers that's being wicked.

WORST TREATMENT FROM MANAGEMENT EVER! After more than 10 years of visiting and supporting Rademeyers and witnessing how the MANAGEMENT treat the elderly is disgusting. Repeat customer pensioner lady being shunned by the staff and MANAGER to use the facility far outside. Disgraceful. When questioned the reason for the treatment; a very argumentative and blatant response from both MANAGEMENT was that "it was her problem of misinterpretation". Treat your guests better. We will never recommend Rademeyers for any occasion.

500 We all got food poisoning !!!!The service was extremely slow. Three of us visited the restaurant after our hike. We each ordered a fish meal. My guest ordered fish with rice and veg, it came with rice and chips, another guest ordered fish with rice and chips, it came with rice only. All 3 of us suffered food poisoning, shortly after. We informed the owner/manager, Andre, the next day and he insisted it was not his restaurant, even though it was only meal for the day (we ate around 11:45am after our hike), he refused to listen. Called us back but was, very insistent that he was not responsible. We told him we didn't want our money back, just an advisory so that others don't get ill. He was not appreciative and probably thought we were looking for a free pass. Will never visit again!

The lemongrass fish, that’s something unique. It was completely different to what I expected. It has a nice taste, but need a bit of sauce to it. did order desserts, but this is something that all indian restaurants fail at in my opinion. I have not gone to any indian restaurant where I have enjoyed dessert to date.

Food and service was average. Prices are competitive. The menu has a variety of options to choose from, including vegetarian options. Like some other restaurants and take-away's, they also need to update their opening and closing times on their website. Especially for weekends and public holidays to prevent any inconvenience. Overall it's worth the visit.
