I attended an Event at Rumours on Saturday and, while the Event was amazing, the service levels at the venue were less than wonderful. They were short staffed on the floor and behind the bar resulting in a wait of up to 30 mins to just get a drink and our food order took 45 mins to arrive and was wrong and then there was another hour's wait for the replacement. When the bill came we were still charged for the wrong order. I don't think that the staff was to blame as they were completely overwhelmed.

I have worked for Rumours almost 3 years now. Fred Otto doesnt pay his staff including me. There is alot outstanding. He waits for you to quit because you dont have a signed contract. You dont have a leg to stand on at the CCMA. Fair warning to everyone.

As a person that does not go out very often, Rumours has been on of the very few places that I attend. Overall the venue itself is quite remarkable however I have had nothing but issues with the waitrons, in the past year alone, without fail there have been now 3 evenings that they have been extremely arrogant, especially when called on errors on bills. Last night the 2nd of March 2019 when I expressed that the error amounting to just short of R400 on a bill was incorrect not only was this responded to with the worst attitude but was also forced out of us. With no choice but to pay, yet again, for someones mistake and being told management is too busy to assist. I do not recommend using the waitrons. Rather pay cash at the bar. This is only one of 3 incidents, the others totalled larger amounts up to the extremes of R1300. Again venue is great, floor staff however destroy the entire experience.

Was waiting for a friend outside rumours, so we could enter together. The manager commanded the bouncer to get rid of us because we weren't inside. We weren't even causing havoc - we were sitting on the pavement waiting for our friend. The manager swore at us, directed the bouncer to get rid of us. The bouncer then follow us to our parking and threatened to "F** us up if we ever disrespected him again". Not sure where the disrespect was, but I couldn't even reason with him. No worries about that happening again - you will NEVER see me back at that whack joint. I will never support your business. You chased away decent customers completely willing to have a good time at your place. Pathetic management. Tough guys who think they're on top of the food chain. Disgusting service and run by arrogant and incompetent bums.

Was threatened by the bouncer on command of owner for standing near the club (not even in it's premises. Like on the street, dude) waiting to meet a friend. Didn't even have a chance to get in. Owner swore at us for not coming inside immediately. The bouncer followed us to our cars and threatened to "F** us up if we ever disrespected him again". Reaked of alcohol. Couldn't even reason with him. I'm an 18 year old and shouldn't be writing complaints on hello Peter, but to be chased away from a place just because and threatened because the owners think they're tough guys is just pathetic. I will NEVER be visiting this place again. Absolutely pathetic management

I attended the metalfeast event hosted there on 27 Feb 2016. The whole day I've been paying R22 a beer (despite the bottles saying recommended selling price is R6, I understood they had to make a profit). Towards the end of the night, when the last band was playing I went to buy a beer for my friend in said band for when he is done. When i got to the bar a waitress asked me what I would like and I gave her my order of 1 beer. Whilst waiting for the barman I took out R22 just for the waitress to inform me that all of a sudden its R30 a beer. I told her but I've been paying R22 the whole day and all she had to say was that the prices increased the week before. I wasn't in the mood to argue so I gave her R30 and took the beer but that is ridiculous. As I was leaving she even had the cheek to click her tongue at me for not tipping her.
The reason I'm only reporting this now is because I mentioned it to a friend of mine that was also there that night and he told me that they charged him up to R35 a beer. I wonder how many other people the waiters conned that night and if this happens on a regular basis?

We went to Rumours on Sat night. Paying R50 each at the door you would expect to be treated with a bit of respect. After going to sit at a table for dinner, waiters passing by pretending we are not there. Finally went looking for one, ordered a pizza and when it got to the table, asked for serviettes and they never arrived. After seeing the pizza is cheddar I tried finding my waiter to cancel the 2nd pizza order but she was nowhere to be found. I cancelled 3 times with another waiter after she purposely ignored me I asked her to stop treating me like shit and listen to what I am saying. (Our first waiter would answer with a loud and rude \huh"and walk away and ignore us when she would not understand what we are saying) after the pizza was brought I specifically said no I have cancelled this. She starts yelling at me and telling me I will eat it and pay for it. After repeatedly asking for the manager"
