Shepstone Gardens : A stunning wedding venue
What a pleasure it was hosting 50 people, (restricted due to Covid), to our wedding at this stunning venue. Everything was as we planned starting one year prior to the event with Alex Watermeyer our planner and nothing went wrong. She held our hands all the way from our original ideas and guided us through all the things needed to make the wedding a success till the day itself. She was there organising from first thing in the morning till the guests left at night. The gardens were beautifully done as were all the flower arrangements. The catering by Howiegourmet was excellent from the stunning selection of canapes to the meal itself which was plated, and all 50 people were served at the same time by the waitering staff. A coffee bar from AVI was as popular as the bar. All the staff were excellent and after we were introduced we were always addressed by name

Pretty backdrop but complete unprofessionalism
We went for an open day at Shepstone gardens. We were looking at having our wedding at shepstone gardens, it was my dream venue. It was a complete disappointment. The person who showed us around, he was so rude and unprofessional. He attempted to sell us a venue at another location (his location) and acted very paranoid saying he has to be careful of what he says because there are spies all around him. It was all very strange. He then attempted to sell us a date for a "lower price" however would cut out the food vendors and suggest one he knows. He also spoke badly about the food vendors the company associates with. All of this was too much but what irritated me the most was in his response to me emails thereafter he always spelt my name incorrectlyk, not a big deal but does not speak to a quality customer service.

RUDE OWNER
RUDE OWNER. We sat outside, at the coctail table. During a wedding we attended. Minding our own business. Then we got accused for not greeting him (The owner). (We did not even know who he was). We got accused and said “you are looking at me like I’m a piece of wood” (after he start talking to us (we were in total shock as he adressed us) He was so rude and cannot believe a venue with such reputation will be so rude. He told us we eat here for free and don’t pay a thing and should be nice with people around here (which made me think - why? What is wrong, what made you say that? Our whole night was ruined by this address)
