I am a professional installer of solar systems. I currently have a client that has a Schubart 6.8Kva Inverter installed that has bombed out twice and was repaired by us. Now I am looking for the installation manual for this inverter that is not available anywhere on the internet, the system has bombed out again, and on the SolarMan website, the contact numbers are no use, as there is no answer on either of the numbers provided. (If you work in this industry you should be available to your clients at all times 24/7 365days a year) So it seems that Solar Man is only in this for the sales, as there is no after hours of after market service for their clients. We as a professional solar company are available to our clients at all times 27/7 365 days a year. So it seems that SolarMan as a supplier are not on the same page. I have tried various times to contact Solar Man to get my hands on the manual of the Schubart inverter that they are marketing without any response, in order to help my client resolve this issue as they are now without any electricity. Why is it that we can find 90% of inverters imported into SA manuals on the internet, but not this one or any of Solar Man's manuals are listed on their website. Please respond immediately

SolarMan in Silverlakes, Pretoria is a pathetic company to deal with. They are quick to sell you things but as soon as they have your money the service stops. In November 2023 they sold an inverter to me which I paid immediately with my credit card. The installer (electrician) needed a pin layout which they could not supply. When I wanted to contact their supplier to try and obtain the required info. they refused to give me the supplier's details, They also convinced me to buy a "change over switch" and a "voltage switcher". My installer could not use these two items and I returned them on the 9th of January. I gave them my banking details, but now they refuse to refund me for these two items, claiming that I must supply them with a confirmation letter from the bank, which in my opinion is utter nonsense. I confirmed my banking details by email to them. Stay away from this company

The absolute worst. My mom bought her inverter and batteries from SolarMan. The initial service seemed great - eager to help and real smooth talkers in terms of sales (think second hand car salesmen). But, soon after, we started experiencing a myriad of problems, from the system not being properly earthed, to the battery being to small to meet the specs and constantly running down, to having to buy an extra battery (something not initially budgeted for), to the first battery just completely giving up (not even a year old). As friendly and helpful as SolarMan appears to be during sales, the complete opposite is true for their after sales approach. When they were not being evasive, then they were condescending or trying to pull a fast one on who they perceived to be a "little old lady who wouldn't know better". Unfortunately my mom did not think about checking SolarMan's ratings on HelloPeter (none of us did), and instead went on the word of friends and acquaintances who had done 'some' research on the topic, but clearly did not have to deal with solarman in an after market capacity. HUGE MISTAKE!!

I am very disappointed with SOLAR MAN on Solomon Mahlangu Drive in Silverlakes. As I write to you, we are not on loadshedding, we have a solar system, yet we are in the dark. Our fridges are off and our business had to come to a standstill. Also, our security is compromised. We purchased and installed their system which cost us over R130000. We have experienced a lot of problems from the time they installed it. We have contacted them and still nothing is happening. We are supposed to be off the grid by now, 12 panels, 4 gel batteries and 2 inverters, yet we still spend R2000 on prepaid electricity because they did the wrong settings. Their installer, Msizi, some call him Ceaser, is not reliable at all. He has been promising to come and look at the settings on our system and now he is not even taking our calls. The Solar Man staff are also not helpful at all. To make matters worse, we have not been issued with a compliance certificate. As is now the system is malfunctioning and we are unable to bypass it to use Eskom. We called them this afternoon to tell them our frustrations. They promised to come back to us and we are still waiting for them to revert back to us.

After months of battling with poor performance of a 6kW inverter and 5 kWh Lithium battery, numerous unanswered emails and several visits to their shop I finally went to see the JP, the person apparently in charge, to see what assistance I can get. Same JP tried to convince me that I need a second battery even though the system trips with loads far below rated capacity. When I questioned this, he simply blew up and loudly and rudely swore at me in front of all in the shop to see and hear. I stated that I hoped for a friendly resolution to my issue but as an old person I felt so threatened by his behaviour that I had to leave the shop without delay. Lesson- seems like substandard equipment, total lack of support and the rudest imaginable treatment of a customer that spent tens of thousands of Rand with them.

Product was good but sadly installation etc was BAD and team were not registered with Dept of Labour so could not give COC. Salesperson Lindy and Manager were absolutely rude. Manager even became vulgar on the phone and threatened to throw me out of the store if I went there. DONT BUY

Their service is absolutely pathetic, the staff is rude specifically Jean and JP. We bought 4 x Gel batteries in November 2021 from them through the salesman Stephan, who told us we had a 24month warranty. Today 27 January 2023, about 14 months after we bought the batteries, we took it to Solarman for them to test it. All off a sudden now the warranty was never 24months and only 12, but Stephan who sold it to us is not even working there anymore. JP told me that we had to go buy our products elsewhere and also threatend me with legal action after I gave them a real bad review on Google. So to people who are looking to buy solar products, do not buy it at SolarMan Silverlakes as they will take your money and if there is problems afterwards they will not help you!
