If you want to stress yourself out, buy a vehicle from this dealership. We baught a vehicle from them and little did we know that the car has major problems, the manager Mxolisi Ngwepe has now decided to ignore calls and emails.

It is through huge disappointment and with sadness that I write this review. I recently did an application to purchase a vehicle at Volkswagen Soweto Maponya. It was a 2014 Mercedes A class, my application was approved, we had some problems with the installment with regards to what the sales man said my installment is and what the finance person gave me, we eventually managed to come to an understanding but my installment was still higher than what the sales man said I got after approval, never the less we proceeded with the deal. I was advised that the vehicle was taken to Mercedes-benz for the speed to be uplifted because the "speed was capped" the car was apparently owned by a older lady that capped the speed is what I was told, there after it was a story about the auxi****y battery, there after I was told they are doing quality checks on the vehicle. I was abit suspicious with the various stories but I left it because I trusted Volkswagen as a whole, since this would have been my 3rd vehicle I bought with Volkswagen. I paid a R60 000 deposit on the vehicle to reduce the installment and the vehicle was intended to be a wedding anniversary gift for my wife, which I explained to the guys I've been with at the dealership. Eventually after alot of delays and hassles the vehicle got delivered to me on the 29th August 2025 with an engine light that was on and vehicle barely had speed, the manager i spoke to said I should drive the vehicle as it is and it will hopefully be fine with in a week due to the air filter could be clogged but will clear the more I drive it. I refused to take a vehicle in such condition and I cancelled the deal and said I am no longer interested in the deal. With my anniversary coming up on the 7th September I proceeded to look for a different vehicle from other dealers, I managed to find a vehicle from Avis car sales , great kilos great price 2024 model. I asked the manager at VW when my deposit will reflect because I did an application with a different dealer for a vehicle and I will need my deposit, he than went on to say, if he can beat the deal from that dealer will I take a vehicle from them as it will be the faster option, I thought about it and decided to give them another chance, we went back and forth with him sending me more expensive vehicles than what I got, i was irritated because instead of beating the deal, he just wanted to make a sale and seemed as if he had no intention to beat the deal and he was just delaying me as he knew my anniversay is coming up and i really hoped to get my wife a car as a gift. Here we are a few days before my anniversary and I want to cancel and he asked me to trust him, he will get me and deliver me a better deal, He even tried to convince me with balloon payments or extended terms to reduce installments, I refused the deal because it was not a better deal. The 7th September 2025 my anniversary day passed as a sad day because I could not give my wife the gift I wished and hoped to get her. I cancelled with Volkswagen Soweto Maponya , on the 8th September I was told I will receive my deposit during that week, today is the 15th September 2025, no deposit received, no vehicle, no reply from the manager I've been speaking to, just alot of sadness and disappointment. My trust in Volkswagen is unfortunately gone, I don't think I will do business with them anymore, I had trust in them but that is all gone now, thought they had very high standards wheb it comes to customers and service delivery and I experienced nothing but disappointment and sadnnes.

Stay away from this dealership. I purchased a vehicle from them in October 2024. A week later found out that the vehicle had accident damages despite them telling me before purchase that there were no accident damages. They do zero quality checks on vehicles before selling them. This vehicle has been back and forth to them 3 times for several issues. Their staff and management offer no after sales service and are absolute ****s. The previous manager told me that he ordered the headlight and it was on back order. Turns out that he never ordered it and hoped that I just went away. I am just being pushed from pillar to post. Now a new person Mxolisi, says that the CEO does not want to replace the light because of the cost and will refund me. They never get back to a customer and have offered no attempt to refund or find me another vehicle which was also promised by Mxolisi. Everything is just smoke and mirrors with them. All their staff know that I was promised the headlight replacement but now the CEO just refuses to honour their promise despite me sending the proof. Don't ever buy from this company! I cannot fathom how they are associated with the VW brand!

I am very impressed with the service I received from Tumi who assisted me. The whole process was seamless and I was kept informed on the application process. I bought a used car from Master Cars. Happy happy customer

I have had 2 break down since I purchased my T Cross 2023 in October 2023 at VW Soweto Maponya. The first one the air conditioning system was not blowing out cold air, I reported this immediately and they said the car was fine. IAs I was driving to North West in November 2023, the car alerted me to stop as the engine was overheating. Car was towed to the dealer and still they could not find what the issue, even after I told them about the air condition system. I must say the service at received thus far has been nothing but disgusting. My second break down was on the 4th of August 2024, AGAIN CAR ALERTING OF ENGINE overheating, car was towed to the dealer on Sunday and I ask for a curtesy car as my car is still under warranty, the lady tells me that they do not have cars for the next 2 weeks, I then ask what am I to do as I use my car for work and she does not have answers for me instead she tells me that, if the car has not broken down because of a mechanical fault, I will have to pay. HOW COME THE CAR IS OVERHEATING ONLY HAVING THE CAR IN UNDER A YEAR AND OVERHEATING TWICE. I am starting to believe that VW SOWETO SOLD ME A FAULTY CAR AND FAILED TO DISCLOSE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. THIS IS UTTER NONSENSE!!!!!!

I rarely leave reviews but Daniel Mpete from Soweto VW is most deserving of one! 1. He made the trade-in process so seamless and efficient. 2. The branch initially didn’t have the colour that I wanted in stock. Daniel didn’t try changing my mind but he instead made sure that I got the exact colour and specs that i requested for. 3. He ensured that he kept me updated throughout the process. 4. Dealerships rarely check up on customers after they’ve purchased their cars. But he made sure that he checked in with me to find out if I’m still happy with my purchase. I 100% recommend Soweto VW. I already cannot wait for my next trade-in. 😁
