I have had endless problems with summercon. I pay exorbitant levies for my yard to have pipe bursts and damage to landscape , then for the yard to flood again yet having a huge store drain in my yard . There is no emergency contact , and the one that was share just rings !! the guard house doesn’t have airtime, easy living estate doesn’t do anything to help in any emergency . It’s the worst as a homeowner I get no compensation for my anxiety having my yard flood twice now ! And use my airtime to phone numbers that do not work . The way in which this property is built is not up to standard! Never buy summercon!!!

I am horrified by how a company, called "Property Specialists" do not offer much in the way of anything special. Murano - a beautiful, upmarket residential estate in Bryanston, Johannesburg was built by Summercon, with no down-pipes in the single units. As a result, water coming off the roof, cascades onto the patio flooding it and causing continuous damage to furniture and the tiles. I have requested for the problem to be addressed 6 months ago and keep being shafted; obviously single-unit owners are not seen as valuable members or important enough levy-paying clients. I would NOT recommend using them, nor Easy-Living Agents either as between the two of them, no one can make a decision or at least even try to resolve the problem.

Hi There; I want to share my experience with Summercon when I was told that I'd get my R20 000 refunded if I changed my mind on buying a property. This did happen and they have since refused to pay me back my money instead they tried to bully me into purchasing the property at Ventura. I want everyone to know this is how they carried their business with me, till today they are refusing to give me back my money. For a first time buyer I'm shocked at how they carry their business even more so given that they're working in a very sensitive industry which requires huge commitment from all parties involved. I'm currently shattered and having sleepless nights over this loss:( and I dont want anyone to experience what I'mcurrently experiencing cause it's not fair practice.

Summercon truly believe they are above the law and can do no wrong. These Summercon developments shoot up in a blink of an eye and they believe that there is no shortcuts or mistakes made. NOTHING IS EVER PERFECT! I recently ran into some unfortunate painting issues at my home were the entire coat of wall paint has lifted and peeled directly away from the sand / concrete wall in massive layers. I have had 3 separate contractors come to my home and tell me that my wall was never EVER primed initially and if it had been there would be signs and this would not be happening. I reached out to Summercon as this problem is an unforeseen expense and should not be my problem, I am not the developer. I have bought this home under false pretense that the necessary workmanship had been provided. Summercons immediate reaction to me is that I "insult them with these accusations" and that the gentleman who have advised me of this information in there professional opinion "do not know what they are talking about" and basically are lying. Summercon WHO do you actually think you are!? We are not on a witch hunt here and you are not without your faults but to think we have this personal vendetta against you and all 3 people who came to the exact same conclusion who owe me nothing would say this for whose benefit?? In fairness my property is old and this problem has risen many years later I can understand how statute of limitation can apply, but when it is very clear the proper precautions and building methods were not taken you think one would hold themselves accountable or at least entertain the idea that human error is a real thing and come out and take a look... Your slogan experience is a load of rubbish and summercon does not stand by it "All our Summercon clients benefit from our exceptional build quality and superior finishes. Our developments are all handed over in perfect condition both internally and externally, which includes unparalleled indigenous landscaping." THIS IS NOT the "buying into quality of life" I WANTED.

I bought a property in this complex. The garage door broken after 6 months i moved in. I tried to contact them to help me with doors but i couldn't get hold of the person which in charge of any snags due to the development issues, when the person finally arrived on site, he said he will check with the garage door guy, and he never got back to me and changed his number again. And then i contact Summercon (the developer of this complex) stuff after my garage door kept half way open for several days, then i got blamed said that i broke my door. Its not only my garage door is broken, there are several units' garage doors are also broken. They are using shoddy materials and not taking responsibilities if any issues happened after they sold the property. Another disappointment is that I am paying high property rate due to the market value is doubled on the municipally bill. When they transfer the property, they don't change the market value according to what they have being sold. it means everyone in this complex is paying double of the property rate of what they supposed to pay.

Summercon are developing the Augusta complex which happens to be very close to my house. I have the type of job that allows me to work from home and from the office - i,e, flexible. I also happen to live in a street that has several businesses (uncluding a nursery school). And so having Summrcon property developers right on our doorstop - and them having absolutley no regard for the neighboiurs is a problem.. The construction team have persistently blasting extremely loud music today - so loud that I can hear it from my home office with the windows closed. They were asked to turn it down, that lasted maybe 30 minutes. I have also phoned Summercon head office TWICE - I spoke to a (patronising) director who told me it was no problem, but it did not solve the problem. I had to phone again and spoke to the receptionist (and thratende to file a noise complaint). And yet the music went on an on - and I suspect that the construction team are now persisting for their own amusesment - to aggaravate the complaining neighbour. If this is the way that summercon like to business, well then I will make it my business to spread the word in my network about their extremely poor culture and why people should not do business with them. I have simply asked for some courtesy - and they have made it clear that they do not care. They do things to please themseves and FTC.

Summercon is now marketing their Cedar Loft studio units in Fourways by over R150,000 less since I acquired mine a year ago. I appreciate that Summercon is free to dispose of the units at any price it sees fit, but it represents poor development planning and behaving in bad faith to other property investors in their development.

If I buy in the first phase of a development I expect future phases to be priced more expensively to secure the investment I have made. Not all developers get this right, but I expected Summercon, given its experience, to get this pricing right. I will be more circumspect in purchasing investment property from Summercon in the future and less confident in their ability to price at market related prices. No-one wants to purchase a unit and then find that they could have purchased it significantly cheaper a year later without a corresponding drop in market prices.

I don't think I have a minority view on this. If canvassed I think all the investors in the development would be irate to learn that units are being offloaded at significant discounts which affects their values, at least in the short/medium term, as well as their rental yields.
