I had to pay a 10% deposit as per the booking confirmation on 11 Aug 2023. The balance, 90%, had to be paid on arrival 13 Aug 2023. When we checked out 14 Aug they said the deposit was not paid. I mentioned that I will check my bank statements and do an EFT. I descovered that they took the full amount 100% on 11 Aug and we paid 90% on 13 Aug. I emailed and phoned several times, but do not get an answer. I also requested an invoice. Have not received it. I forgot my Garmin heart rate monitor in room 401. Asked for them to check. No answer!!!!!

THE BAY HOTEL - Absolutely shocking and disturbing my husband and myself decided to visit the bay hotel for mocktails AND A light meal with saying that we made a booking reservation. When arriving the waiter approach us and we ordered I said I would like to have the mocktails at the pool side please and went down we found a lovely spot with two pool chairs available we made ourselves comfortable after 10 -15 mins later a Caucasian tall man dressed in black no name badge no intro no logo on any of his clothing (saying his the manager or senior) with teeth yellow like his never used a tooth brush in decades. Approaches us and speaks loudly in a arrogant tone we are not allowed to sit here this area is only for paid residents and are you a resident? Can you afford to stay here? You are welcome to pay R750,00 as a day visitor he was so rude and the manner in which he approach us was utterly disgusting and embarrassing to say the least he mentioned there are cheaper options you know ...to insinuate my affordability a darn insult ... Is this The Bay caliber of staff racist and arrogant ????? Or is it because the color of my skin was not the same as his including the guest staying there, Was I getting drinks for free "NO!!!! A PAYING CUSTOMER" I SAID PLEASE CANCEL OUR ORDER WE ARE LEAVING. I would have respected him to say in a polite manner in a soft tone, this is a once off ill bring your drinks but in future you not allowed to sit here. I would have gladly accepted that. I would like to know this horrible person's name and a full explanation and apology from him directly in detailed written I would like to know what is The Bay hotel going to do about this matter how are they going to fix this at the end of it i was a customera paying customerlike any one else having a drink or staying ?????? I expect feedback asap... Not only did he embarrass me infront of the guest but I felt extremely humiliated.

The service from management was shocking. They had a don’t care attitude. I had a bad experience from the day I did my online booking. The location is beautiful but the ignorance of management really bring the rating down.

Not clean at all. I had to complain to the cleaners regarding the cleanliness. During my whole stay, 8 nights. The shower wasn’t cleaned once. There was some sort of mucus on the rail next to the bed. No hot water even when I complained about it twice. The room cleaner broke my brand new toothbrush. Só I complained to the manager, but nothing came of it.

I stayed at The Bay hotel in Camps bay in May 2021 for two weeks. The room wasn't cleaned properly when we arrived, the shower wasn't cleaned properly during our whole stay. I had to request bottled water for the room every day, if I didn't request, I never received. My brand new toothbrush was dropped and broken by housekeeping, and when I complained, nothing was done. Even upon placing my towels in the bath, they were not replaced by fresh ones, I had to request at reception when I wanted fresh towels. During my stay, there was never any hot water, eventhough I complained at the front desk. At the premium price I paid for my stay at this hotel, I got sub par service which made me move to a different location for the remainder of my holiday. I really wouldn't reccommend this hotel.
