Ever since my complex installed this system it has been just a headache and frustration. To make matters worse our body corporate add trustees who implemented this whack system of smart meters with The meter shack are not hearing our grievances about how this system is a *******. Majority of us in the complex are experiencing the same issue, which is billing that’s extremely high and unexplainable deductions. I went from spending R800 a month in summer to almost R900 a week in a household of only 2. The electricity consumption is so high.. when you look at the billing statement you see these 3 high amounts that always deduct one after the other daily. They are always around the same amounts every day, you R12, R10 and R9 consecutively most of the times when those amounts are deducted, either we are sleeping or not even home. And you wonder, what would be consuming that much electricity while we sleep or not even home. We have complained and complained and asked for clarification regarding these weird amounts, but nothing. It’s infuriating because we cannot be paying so much for electricity in this already tough economy. I can’t even put up my geyser for too long anymore or even daily otherwise R200 will be gone in a day. It’s literally the worst electricity system ever I can’t express my hate for it enough 😫

Hi my review is about the consultant Juliet, she was very helpful and knowledgeable and was able to sort out my enquiry. This new system is not user friendly at all however I appreciate the consultants assistance on this matter.

I am very disgruntled with the way Meter Shack charges water and electricity at Lake Grace Complex in Primrose. I work from the office Monday to Wednesday/Thursday some weeks but i still get charges water usage even though no one is in the house. I sent a message to the caretaker to reverse all the amounts I have been charged and she said the amounts cannot be reversed, I was charged because of a guyser leak. I had previously reported that I am charged for water I don't use but was ignored. The caretaker only responded to my message after I sent a message to the agent and was then informed about the guyser leak. My electricity was switched off because the Meter shack charges me for water and electricity. I am charged R110 for common area water usage, R110 for common area electricity usage . There are 44 units in this complex so I am assuming everyone pays the same amount or even more for common area water usage and common area electricity. I need to understand what common area water and electricity is and I cannot be paying so much money as I do not use common area water I dont wash my car in the complex and anyway there are no open taps outside to get water so what is this common area water and electricity for exactly. I need my money to be paid back to me urgently please, I work very hard to make ends meet. This is daylight robery. I spend a lot on water and electricity but I live alone. I am very very unhappy with The Meter Shack and its exorbitant charges. I need urgent assistance with reversing the water charges for water I didn't use as I was in the office. I can provide a Kronos report from my workplace. I work from the office 3 to 4 times a week, sometimes a full week. I usually spend the full day in the house only on Friday and Saturday. I go to church Sundays and leave the house at 8am and usually back by 4pm.

I having a problem of metershack ,they're just taking money from us for water and electricity and we can't access our meter at all ,they're telling me the meters are not accessible which is not I don't understand at all. We are just buying the electricity and water only via banking without seeing our meters and they only contact about the low balance on messages without even seeing the meter . They have been *****ing for long now. Under which agent here in SA who is not allowing owners nd tenants to see the meters? So far I have bought it through bank for R1800 but I can't see the units I'm purchasing, how is that possible.. This is a ******* company who is *****ing from people.. I'm desperately need help. Everyone is complaining in the complex except the one family which they have connections with metershack and I'm doubting if they're also buying the water and electricity
