Turn n tender Parktown is one of my favourite restaurants. Food is excellent and waitrons are beyond fantastic. They make every guest feel welcome and service is impeccable. Today my special thanks to Zee, Musa, Ellen, ,Bongi and all the other servers. I do, however, have a big gripe. The manager Justin stands around like a lump of lard. He doesn't greet or acknowledge any customers, he doesn't check on the quality of customers food - he just stands around looking bored and I think I saw him dozing off a few times. He is in the front, so clearly he doesn't supervise the kitchen I hope he isn't ill, but as mentioned, I am a regular customer and every waitron comes and greets me warmly and Justin always displays the same lack of ibterest Congratulations to wonderful servers and thumbs down to disinterested manager Justin

Last night I took my son and wife out for dinner to celebrate my son doing well at school. We went to Turn n Tender at The Verge shopping centre. When the waiter came to take our order, I greeted him first and got a half hearted greeting back, no smile or personality. Not once during the meal did he bother to come find out how everything was. When the bill came, the amount was R627. I added a R50 tip for the waiter, so the total was R677. The waiter looks at the slip and then takes my credit card to tap it. Once the transaction went through, he gives a sneer and then walks away without so much as a "thank you". I've been in the service industry for over 35 years, one would think that an upmarket restaurant such as this would educate their front line staff on the importance of making their clients feel welcomed and appreciated. Times are tough and a tip is to the clients discretion, but based on the fact that I was made to feel unwelcomed, I will not be visiting that establishment again.

We had the absolute pleasure of attending the grand opening of the new Turn ’n Tender in Paarl, hosted by the wonderful Ian and Joan. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated—what a fantastic start to an unforgettable evening. The food was exceptional: • My husband enjoyed a perfectly prepared 300g fillet steak with chips—tender, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. • I had the 200g fillet steak with mash, pumpkin and spinach, and every bite was pure delight. • For dessert, my husband had a whiskey Dom Pedro, smooth and indulgent, while I had the baked cheesecake—without a doubt the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the entire dining experience was exceptional from start to finish. A special mention must go to our lovely waitress Nkosi, who was an absolute delight—friendly, patient, and offering truly excellent service throughout the evening. She added a warm, personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. Congratulations to Ian and Joan on a wonderful opening. Turn ’n Tender Paarl is a superb addition to the area, and we look forward to many future visits!

On 25 July at the Vaal Mall T'nT I was victim to ******ion from Mr Michael M... I never knew that Tn'T has a new law that insists that customers must make a 10/15/20 % of their bill and not follow the Gratuity option like all other restaurant. Wen the bill came the waiter explained to me that T'nT has implemented by Law a bill mark up. After this encounter I had to go look for the manager as our waiter refused to call him and to my surprise, Mr Andrie Breitenbach handled the situation but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I will never be visiting any T'nT restaurant in the foreseeable future. It is by some surprise that the T'nT at Three Rivers closed down, but I imagine it is through such conduct that people would prefer your competitor. We had to wait almost and Hour to order and get our food. I had to beg for ground papper and the bill so I could leave, but to top it off, The waiter wanted to take me for a ride !

I was taken out to a Fathers' Day lunch at Park Town. Opted for a 200g fillet steak. Probably worst fillet steak I've ever eaten. Burnt on the outside but medium rare inside as I ordered. But it tasted off and even the runny and insipid pepper sauce didn't make things better. I didn't want to complain at the table and embarrass my children so had a quiet word with the lady in charge. We've all had bad steaks but the reason for me posting this is that she didn't even care and dismissed my complaint as if it didn't matter. I'm sure that the complaint never reached the kitchen staff and therefore things like this will happen again. Clearly, next time, if we want a decent steak, we will have to go to a proper steak house!

Great start of dinner in Illovo. Our server was friendly, kind, caring, and really assisted kindly with my step family. Sadly when we discovered a piece of bread that had two blue mold marks, we informed her, she apologized and we were expecting a manager to come by. Eventually a manager came in once, telling us the bread was good and it was probably in our mind. No excuses whatsoever. We'll, let's move one... The second time the manager came by with two other pieces of bread, showing us expiring dates, stories and pushing the customer to feel they are wrong and the restaurant is right. This situation can happen and we all understand, however, a manager pushing his customer to think they are fools... does not work ! I would never hire such individual. What was unpleasant is that Hospitality is about interaction, service, understanding, passion & compassion, not about working for the money only. The other sad part is that, apparently, the owners were present. No interaction, apologies, definitely not from the hospitality background, or if so, very poor. All was good and we loved going to Turn N' Tender Illovo, however it seems that the lack of management, NOT service on employees level, has given us reason not to return.
