Based on recent customer reviews, UFO Furniture faces significant criticism around product durability, particularly with leather and upholstery couches peeling within one to three years and mattresses sagging or developing spring defects within months. Customers frequently express frustration with after-sales service, citing ignored complaints, warranty disputes, and being redirected to pay for repairs on what they consider manufacturing faults. However, several reviews highlight exceptional individual staff members at branches like Vereeniging, Brakpan, Wonderpark, and Kempton Park who deliver personalized, attentive service that earns genuine customer appreciation.

I brought a bed in December of 2025 and the base had a funny sound when I was sleeping, I went to the shop in December to complain and they told me compliant department is close and will open in January the 18th, the sales rep helped to put in complaints in January 2026. February 2026 they delivered a new base still has funny sound when I’m sleeping UFO has poor quality of beds, I recently emailed the compliant department and there is no feedback how can it be that two base that are delivered to me can have faults, I thought this shop sales quality for the amount I spent on buying this bed it’s not even three months but two base have faults I’m really angry and disappointed about this. I would not refer anyone to buy a bed at UFO.

I bought a couch (GINA) at UFO in Marlborough, it's hardly been 2 years. I bought it in May 2024 and the couch is now sagging. It's a recliner and is no longer closing properly. I reported the matter to UFO and they referred me to their service providers and I'm expected to pay for the repairs. I find this very disappointing, especially from UFO a reputable shop known for selling high quality products. This is indeed disappointing.

A year ago I purchased a queen bed from UFO N1 City in Cape Town. 10 months later a spring from the bed popped through the mattress which has injured my wife on multiple occasions to date. I went back to N1 City only to find out that the store has closed down. I contacted UFO via email to let them know of the situation. They sent me documents to fill and to liaise with the supplier’s representative Mike to which I did and was informed they will replace the mattress and it will have to be manufactured and will take up to two weeks but he will try and put an urgent notice on it. It has now been over a month and I still have not received the mattress because UFO is trying to arrange it at a time that is convenient for the driver from the nearby Lewis store. My wife has since been scratched and poked multiple times by this spring and when I contacted UFO to let them know and that we need the mattress urgently due to this, my emails were ignored. I then sent a further email stating that if they cannot deliver the mattress they should refund me according to the CPA as they have proven to be ************* and unreliable, my emails still went unanswered and to date I have not received any update. While we are out of pocket with the risk of serious injuries and infections this company deciders that the best course of action is to ignore our pleas. I write this to warn other consumers that when you buy from these stores, this is the quality and service you’re expected to get not to mention the instability of them just closing stores down. If this matter isn’t resolved, I will be laying a formal complaint with relevant departments to make sure that this doesn’t go unanswered. We work hard for our money and don’t expect companies to just take it and ignore us.

Customer Service Review for Tonny Matene – UFO Furniture Vereeniging I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the excellent service I received from Tonny Matene at UFO Furniture in Vereeniging. I had an issue with my bed that was uncomfortable and causing me back pain. Tonny handled my complaint with great professionalism and care. He took the time to explain every step of the process, including how long it would take and what to expect. He also assured me that he would stay in touch throughout the 4weeks waiting period while I awaited the delivery of my new mattress — and he kept his word! Tonny followed up regularly, kept me updated, he even called me in the morning after delivery to check how the new bed felt. That kind of dedication and genuine care is what I call going the extra mile for a customer. UFO Furniture is truly blessed to have such an outstanding employee. Tonny’s customer service is excellent, and I’m extremely happy and grateful for his assistance. Thank you, Tonny, for making this experience such a positive one!

Please DON'T ever spend your hard earned money at UFO Furniture Alberton. "AFTERMARKET SERVICE" is not a word in their vocabulary, it is non existent! They come up with any and all excuses not pay out or exchange products you paid for and ARE still under warranty. Their employees have NO people skills and are so arrogant. ZERO STARS IS MORE ACCURATE, but on here we are polite.

Complaint Regarding Product Quality and Customer Service I am writing to express my profound disappointment with a bed I purchased from UFO Amanzimtoti approximately two years ago. Recently, the bed has exhibited a significant manufacturing fault, with the springs on the side beginning to pop out. Given that the product is a mere 2 and a half years old, this issue clearly points to a failure in quality and workmanship. I immediately lodged a complaint with UFO Amanzimtoti. While I was informed that the standard warranty period had expired, I was assured that the product was still under a "guarantee." Following this, an inspector from **Viva Bedding**, the manufacturer, assessed the situation and confirmed the defect. However, I was then advised that I would need to pay R1,500 for the repair. This proposed solution is unacceptable for several reasons: 1. The defect is unmistakably a factory fault, not a result of misuse or wear and tear. 2. The repair cost of R1,500 is disproportionate, considering the original purchase price was just over R3,000. At this rate, purchasing a new bed from a different manufacturer becomes a more logical and financially sound option. 3. The entire experience has undermined my confidence in the product's quality and the brand's commitment to customer satisfaction. This situation reflects poorly on the quality of both UFO's products and their supplier, **Viva Bedding**. The service from both entities has been unsatisfactory, and the resolution offered does not prioritize customer loyalty but rather seems designed to extract additional revenue. Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend UFO Amanzimtoti or **Viva Bedding** to other consumers. I had expected both the retailer and the manufacturer to stand behind the quality of their products and ensure their customers are treated fairly. I am sharing this feedback in the hope that it will prompt a review of your quality control and customer service policies. Sincerely, A Disappointed Customer
