<p>The Penthouse I booked smelled of stale cigarettes, (frankly it stank to such an extent that we opened up everything to air the apartment - which really only helped slightly).<br />The furniture was disgusting in that it had cigarette burns, stains and two of the chairs were worn through. My daughter (12) fetched the hand towel to sit on the sofa. There was hair from previous guests on the floor in the bathrooms. The curtain rail in the main bedroom was broken; in fact the curtains in all the rooms were dirty and smelled bad. The aircon did not function properly, the kettle did not work, the mattress in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable as well as the pillows (lumpy). A truly disappointing experience...</p> <p> </p>

<p>I have emailed, called, left messages and had no response from an unprofessional and inept financial manager, Kerri Erasmus. She was supposed to file a tax directive for me however, for the second time she has let slip. Instead of calling me back or responding - she just ignores. I have emailed her several times and no response, to the point where I spoke to the financial director - who said only she can assist but she doesn't. It's frustrating that in times like today we still have to deal with people that have no regard for professionalism or other people's time or money.</p>

<p>I made a reservation on booking.com for Critchley hackle lodge, there was free cancellation until 2nd August. The hotel immediately debited my credit card for the 50% deposit. On 4th June, I cancelled the booking at 0 cost. I had to email the group to request them to refund me the deposit. I was told it would be dealt with the manager at CH. However a week later I had to email again - I was fobbed off and told the person was on leave but that they would refund the deposit within 7-10 days. It is now nearly 4 weeks later and there is still no sign of my refund. Eventually the manager came back and said booking.com would refund the deposit, even though booking.com did not debit my card. Suffice it to say that all my emails to the manager are being ignored and I still do not have my deposit. It is simply not acceptable, what do I need to do to get my deposit refunded? This is totally against all consure protection policies. If this si the kind of pre-service a person gets, I certainly will not ever stay there</p>

What a nonsense service ! that we received after purchasing coupon on line , we showed them the proof of payment that was on our cell ,we were told to print it , the reception lady tried to print but couldn't because of her computer that was not working properly , despite the proof that we emailed it to her ,we were told to go back and print , just imagine where do you get Internet cafe that is open Saturday afternoon , we asked if we can email it to the owner , they said No , we want our refund !! Never go back to that dirty place !!

The hotel had no lights when we woke up me and family had a weeding to attend when i complained he passed the buck 4 us to phone [URL Removed] then the still wanted us to pay the cancelation fee when we called bernard who is the manager he was unintrested in dealing with us this hotel is the only 1 with no back up generator bernard stoped taking our calls The manager who is bernard is absolute rude and not available when i whent down to the reception there was no 1 there to assist us the security there was worst rude this is the most perthatic service i have ever recived in a hotel i would never recomend any1 to stay here ever unless the manager is fired
