AN UPDATE, WITHOUT PREDJUDICE I originally thought I would leave this situation as it is, (i.e., merely accept that I was defrauded by an online thief and move on) but believe consumers may be misled by the 5-star reviews and believe it my obligation to advise adequate warning of possible loss of funds and / or exceptionally poor service. Elotshop is an on-line company run and owned by Jean van Wyk and he dealt with me directly, via email and few WhatsApp’s. Basic events history: I ordered and paid for a product via elotshop.com website. The product was never supplied even with a commitment via WhatsApp, that it was on route following a complaint. His correspondence was exceptionally poor throughout until I sent a derogatory email regarding his service, where his correspondence was now rather associated with my email contents than the service and products in question. It took this kind of action for him to respond, ***!!!!! He decided that he would return the funds, but I left the ball in his court to either refund or supply the product. It has been 7 months and neither action has been honoured. Theses 5-star reviews are an absolute farce. Prior to Jean van Wyk blocking his Facebook friends list, too many names on the list matched Hello Peters usernames, to be a coincidence. He has even giving himself a review, ***! Further, he has also reviewed ProvectusWeb Solutions, where he is the MD. This an absolute joke and is dishonorable. I must admit, I like his website and it markets great products like Splash Drone, DJI, Flir and others, and consider it to be very user-friendly, BUT in the “about us” section, the reference to Christian values and honour, is shameful. Sadly, his website ( the on-line shop section) makes use of the Trojan-Downloader:JS/Agent which is a large family of programs that secretly download, install and execute harmful files. Just make sure you have a decent anti-virus program installed prior to using his website. His claim to do business in an honorable way, reflecting his Christian mortals (morals, I assume) and values and carrying them through to his business practice, is an outright fib. Using Christianity, to promote integrity and honour, only to consequently rob online clients, is as low as it gets and is downright blasphemous. I do pray for you, Jean van Wyk, that one day, you will see the light, and realize that conducting your life and business in an honourable way, is and can be extremely rewarding. I am not expecting Jean van Wyk/Elotshop to return my money or provide the product in question, as this would have been done, had his intentions have been honourbale. So, consumers, please be aware, and should you insist on supporting Elotshop.com, I suggest very strongly that you insist on receipt of the product prior to transferring funds, or rather shop elsewhere, as there are numerous reputable online options for Swellpro , DJI, Flir , and strongly suggest they are considered first to prevent disappointment. Be safe and love to all…...

Serious poor service issues, with failure to supply ordered products and /or return funds as per their company policy. Product in question is the Splash Drone 3+ battery. 8 weeks have passed and no delivery or refund, after numerous emails to Jean van Wyk. This should be a 3 to 5 day event. Clearly, they had no intention of supplying the product as advertised on their website, it was merely a ploy to accept payment then apply stalling tactics. I have finally given up as the battery is only worth R2500 and am grateful that it was not a complete Splash Drone or an expensive Flir product. The local Splash Drone agent should be concerned with this distributor actions.

Jean @ Elotshop in Cape town made my Swellpro experience such a great one. His professionalism is on another level. His knowledge of all flying machines is phenomenal. Bussiness etiquette and going beyond after hours calling and answering questions late at night really made me comfortable knowing I'm in good capable hands. Swellpro must be proud of a gem of a person.

FRAUDELENT DJI RESELLER ALERT As official DJI DISTRIBUTOR in South Africa, our Company would like to highlight our dealings with Elot Shop and Owner Jean van Wyk. After agreeing to assist Mr van Wyk with releasing an almost R50,000 thermal DJI aircraft before payment to one of his clients, almost 4 months later we are still awaiting payment. Mr van Wyk assured us payment was done on the day of the sale, but after repeated enquiry, our Company was told that his assistant / wife / girlfriend miss Nadia Strauss had executed payment to the WRONG ACCOUNT and Nedbank would not reverse the payment, nor release contact details of the person payment went to, which is very suspicious. We requested Mr van Wyk to show us a screenshot of the erroneous payment, which he refused to do claiming you cannot screenshot bank statements, which is again, a lie, as we had then shown Mr Van Wyk it is indeed possible. Once again, Mr van Wyk denied any wrongdoing and proclaimed his innocence, blaming his spouse for the error. As we suspected Mr Van Wyk of lying, which he strongly denied, we eventually got a confession from him that he did INDEED LIE and had SPENT the funds meant for our Company. After threatening Mr Van Wyk with legal action we finally received a payment of R4,500, and then he defaulted on his payment agreement. Furthermore, as this is an act of pre meditated theft, we have advised DJI head office to immediately disable the stolen aircraft, rendering it useless to the buyer. Our purpose for positing this is to serve as a cautionary warning to ALL potential ELOT SHOP customers that you are dealing with a fly by night company with no integrity that is happy to defraud the very same suppliers that have supported ELOT and Mr Van Wyk.

We had the pleasure to purchase a Swellpro drone through Elotshop and I can highly recommend them. Being our first drone we had some issues with calibrating however Jean was always just a phone-call away giving us some expert advise. If you are in the market fir a drone Elotshop is the way to go...

Excellent service coupled with great attitude. I was in the market for a fishing drone and was put into contact with Elotshop via the drone forum. I spoke to Jean who clearly gave me the impression that he was not in the business of making a quick buck but was rather interested in me getting what I needed. He had several units for sales, however referred me to one of his cheaper units seeing the nature of my use. I eventually settled on the Phantom 4 pro V2.0 and was given a great deal and advised all the way until the unit arrived in Gauteng at my premises. I have a new found respect for e-Commerce businesses after my experience with Elotshop. I must say I was initially apprehensive given my experience with these sort of businesses and procrastinated whilst doing research on Elotshop. They come highly recommended and are listed in the Flymag. Once I convinced myself to go ahead with Jean from Elotshop, I have had no reason to look back. I recommend very few businesses but I am glad to say I do recommend Elotshop and know a few of my mates who are ready to buy from Jean. I know from where I will be getting my accessories and next drone.
