WORSE THAN TERRIBLE SERVICE...MORE LIKE THEFT The service from this company is terrible.I see a horrible long time coming trend of entitlement as a rule in South African companies. It’s as if they are doing you a huge service by doing the bare minimum for your hard earned money. ACE GRINDING IS NO DIFFERENT. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS AWFUL WHEN IT CAME TO ANY BACK UP SERVICE. When I bought my clippers and four pairs of new blades from them they were ever so efficient. However when it came to sending my blades to them via Postnet I heard nothing more I had to chase up what was happening at least four or five times more over the course of a few months! Eventually after my impatience wore thin they finally my blades were ready to send but first I had to pay the money. I asked for an invoice and they said no I had to pay the amount first, they only send out invoices on payment. Eventually I got an invoice and , It was a handwritten amount on a piece of paper over WhatsApp. My blades arrived and I was not going to use them until horse clipping season except that I have an older gelding whose hair is growing thicker than it should. He was washed beautifully that morning and when he was dry I proceeded to try and clip him. I could not clip one single hair! It was terrible! My blades were still clipping when I sent them for sharpening but I like to be fully ready for the next season. 2 Pairs of blades have only seen 12 clips in total!!!

I have unfortunately has a bad experience with Ace Grinding & Sharpening in Epping , and would advise any other person starting a grooming business to not buy any equipment from them as then you will have to deal with them again and again for repairs. Rather go to Daro and purchase Oster products This business has no comprehension of customer service and will blame you when they consistently make mistakes.I have been consistently charged exorbitant rates for small electrical repairs... I was charged almost R2000 just to replace a cord and a circuit board on a clipper... When i needed a faulty cord on a pet dryer fixed , the manager tried to again charge me R2000 and I objected . I picked the dryer up and was told the carbon brushes needed to replaced and i agreed.Upon using it , it broke straight away. I believe my dryer was not fixed properly because i refused to pay a huge amount for a small repair.. I now have to drive all the way back to Epping from Hout Bay while the disgusting manager Karen doesn't answer any emails. Please stop wasting my time and playing games with your customers... it seems you use every opportunity just to suck every rand you can

I bought more that R20 000 of Andis products from them. I sent an Andis blade (that I dropped) to have fixed. They took it in without saying anything about the possibilities of fixing a dropped blade. I drove all the way from Stellenbosch to collect it in Epping. They charged me for the sharpening and told me it was fine. Upon using it, it did not work. I sent an email complaining - got no response. I waited until I had more blades to sharpen. I went there yesterday (after phoning the day before to confirm I was coming). I enquired about the blade that was not working. I was told they cannot take responsibility for dropped blades. I asked them why they did not tell me that they could not fix it the first time and if they test blades before sending them back to customers. They said: Yes they do test them. I asked why then did it not work? They said it worked on their clipper. I tested it on two clippers in my shop - it does not work. Furthermore, I was then told that the staff member who sharpens blades did not pitch for work. I told them I would leave my blades and wanted them delivered free of charge. I got a call today (the owner Alan will not speak to me directly) and I was told that he (Alan) will not deliver my blades because they are Oster make. They are happy to take my business of sharpening them, but they refuse to deliver because of the make - which was never an issue. So, I spent R20 000+ with him and now I get told my blades are not good business and they will not deliver free of charge. I run a small one man business and cannot drive up and down between Stellenbosch and Epping all the time. Their staff did not pitch, the least I would expect is that a company will offter to deliver free of charge.
