I am writing this to warn every homeowner and contractor in South Africa: Do NOT buy a Kwikot geyser. Their "warranty" is nothing but a marketing gimmick, and their aftersales service is an exercise in pure arrogance. In April 2025, I invested in a brand-new 200-litre Kwikot geyser. It lasted less than a year before the element burnt out. I immediately contacted their warranty and repairs department, assuming that since the unit was still under warranty, this would be a simple fix. They sent technicians out twice to look at the unit. They removed the element and gave me a list of excuses that can only be described as a "dog ate my homework" level of deflection. They blamed "water quality in Pretoria" and then tried to claim "human error" during installation. Let me be clear: I used a qualified plumber and electrician to install my geysers. The installation was perfect. Here is where the story reveals the true ****. I spoke to a representative named Johan from Kwikot. In an attempt to justify their refusal to repair my geyser, Johan actually admitted to me that they currently have 3,500 Kwikot geyser elements that have burnt out under warranty. 3,500! When I expressed my shock, his response was effectively, "Imagine if we had to repair all 3,500 at our own cost." Yes, Johan, that is exactly what a warranty is supposed to do. You cannot market a product, sell it as durable, and then refuse to fix it because you sold too many faulty units and it hurts your profit margins. I pointed out the obvious to him: "So your geysers must be faulty then if 3,500 of them are burning out under warranty, and you are refusing to fix them." He had no answer. I told him I would escalate the matter. I sent a detailed written email outlining the conversation and the fault. To no surprise, I never received a reply. They completely ghosted me. They left me with no choice. I had to pay out of my own pocket to replace the element myself. Kwikot, shame on you. You do not honor your agreements. You are arrogant, and you are knowingly selling faulty products while refusing to take accountability. I will never buy a Kwikot product again, and I urge anyone reading this to support literally any other manufacturer who actually stands behind their work. If you have a Kwikot, pray it doesn't break, because their "warranty" is worthless.

KWIKOT were agents for AEG and was supposed to hold parts for old AEG Products. I purchased an AEG Oven 8 years ago from Hirsch, which a few days ago blew its PC Board. Kwikot have advised me that they no longer hold parts for the particular model which at the time was their top of the range oven. Please don't buy AEG as they seem to be an unsettled business

This review is of the Cape Town branch. This company offers the worst service ever. No one bothers returning calls. No one can tell when stock is arriving. Their own products are out of stock for months. Once you have paid for the item, trying to get hold of it is another nightmare. I’m sure the staff have all been trained at home affairs. They seriously just couldn’t give a ****.

This has been by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with any company. Our geyser was still under manufacturer warranty, and our household insurance company instructed us to contact Kwikot directly, as they could not get involved while the warranty was still active. When we logged the call, the claims consultant Sizwe Mashaba assured us that a technician would come out to replace the geyser before 6 PM the same day, as we had explained that our daughter is writing her Grade 12 final exams and we urgently needed hot water. A technician arrived, confirmed that the geyser was beyond repair, and said it needed to be replaced. However, he then claimed he could not install the replacement because our roof is corrugated, and instead he would leave the geyser at our home. When we asked him to wait while we confirmed this with both his office and our insurer, he agreed, but then drove off with the geyser five minutes later without saying a word. When we called Sizwe back, he casually admitted he had “forgotten to mention” that Kwikot does not install geysers under corrugated roofs. He apologized and said another technician would return with the geyser. The first technician had been rude and even swore at us over the phone, so we specifically asked not to have him sent back. A new technician came out and dropped off the geyser, telling us we would have to find our own installer. Before leaving, he removed the element from our old geyser in the ceiling, which has now caused severe leaks every time we open the taps. He explained that it was “policy” to remove the element if they don’t take the old geyser — but he did not disconnect the water, resulting in a flooded passage, water damage, and a ruined ceiling. To make matters worse, Kwikot refused to assist with the installation even after we offered to have the geyser relocated outside to make things easier. Their handling of this situation has been nothing short of shocking. Kwikot’s product quality is poor, their customer service is appalling, and their after-sales support is non-existent. To top it all off, the technician even removed the warranty sticker from the new geyser before leaving — I have photos to prove this. If you value professionalism, reliability, or basic decency, avoid Kwikot at all costs. This entire ordeal has left us frustrated, without hot water, with water damage in our home, and no accountability from the company whatsoever.

1. On the 4 November 2025, I woke up to a burst geyser. I contacted the household insurance company and within an hour a plumber was dispatched to investigate and stop the water wastage. 2. The plumber found that the geyser had indeed burst and needed to be replaced. They discovered that the fault fell under warranty and undertook to inform the insurance company and Kwikot about the fault. 3. I received an SMS confirming that Kwikot was aware of the matter. The incident was assigned a Ref. No. KJ023189. 4. The next day, 5 November 2025, Green Planet Plumbing came out to site around 9:20am to investigate and replace the geyser. The technician advise that they could not install the geyser to the roof pitch. They said they would ‘drop-off’ the geyser and abandon the job and I would have to find my own plumber at my own cost. 5. I did not accept this explanation and continued to explain to them that this house has approved building plans which were handed to me by the previous owner. I continued to explain that the geyser was installed by SOLAR WISE so they could just negotiate with them to perform the work. 6. They did not agree, so they left with the geyser. 7. I waited hours for further alternatives from Kwikot but the call dis not come. I contacted them around 3pm and requested that they allocate another plumber. They insisted that I contact the insurance and arrange with them to install the geyser and they would only supply it. I stated to them that the insurance company had closed the case and the onus to negotiate the installation process rested with them and not me as the client. 8. Eventually they assigned a company (D and D Plumbing, or something like that) and they promised that I would receive a call in the next hour to arrange the installation. This did not happen. 9. Today, 6 November 2025, still nothing has happened albeit this being an emergency job. I sit with taps without running hot water and I have children writing exams. 10. I received an SMS stating that the job had not been done stating that Kwikot (Haier) EC has been advised. THe contact numbers I made contact with are as follows, respectively: 085627600; 0861 594 568 and 0413994000. I must say that some of the customer care agents do not deserve to deal directly with clients due to their impatience, rudeness and the fact that they simply cannot wait to transfer a call to the next person. I cannot wait for my warranty to expire in February 2026 so that I can deal with Kwikot no longer.

The products and services are of poor quality. Poor service. The Geyser was installed in 2019. In 2023 the geyser needed to be replaced and was still under warranty. On 15 October 2025, the geyser did not heat up and the thermostat needed replacement. This implies that only the tank was replaced in 2023. I contacted Kwikot and their response was, it is no longer under warranty and in essence it is just too bad because they can't guarantee whether their thermostats will last for a year or longer, likewise they cannot guarantee the lifespan of the geyser. I would therefore advise consumers to not purchase kwikot products because they cannot guarantee lifespan of their products.

Worst service ever from Marcus. I bought an Elon heater from Plumblink, and he admitted it was a faulty first-version unit. He promised a replacement with a newer model known to work better. Later, they voided the warranty due to no COC or isolator—requirements not mentioned in the warranty docs. The unit has software issues, not physical damage. I offered to pay for repairs since I was testing it before buying 8 more units, but Marcus refused—they won’t even inspect it because it’s from a defective batch. Unacceptable. This is your product—stand by it. Sadly, many South Africans will waste money on this. Buy at your own risk
