If I could I would not even give them 1 star. Worst agency I have ever had the misfortune of working with. Keeping it professional and my emotions out of it, I honestly would not advice either a property owner or a tenant to get involved with this business. In my case, they refuse to refund my full refundable deposit because they are keeping R1900 for utility charges not even yet invoiced! This is not legal! Ref: Rental Housing Act 50 of 1999. I am reporting them to PPRA and would advice all others to do the same.

If I could I would not even give them 1 star. Worst agency I have ever had the misfortune of working with. This is the worst agency yet.Marilyn appear so friendly but when you give notice she makes a total swing. I battled with my deposit for a month and deductions was made to repairs that was not my fault, when asked for quotes her reply was " I'm not in any form obligated to get 3 quotes....seriously the worst experience in my rental life....total no go to anyone renting through Alcus property management....

They are on the one side of a contract. They only care about their own gain when it somes to the landlord and a tenant. They got out contractors who ruined my furniture when they painted out the place I rented. The chipped tiles I moved in with was never replaced. I redid the garden and added blinds and really took care of the place. When it came to moving out the charged me a R1000 for replacing a bulb that was already not working when I moved in and a bracket I took off because it was broken when I moved in. There was no water bill till MidCity was brought in along with a new electric meter. I had to pay for the deposit there of and when I requested it back, they refused to give it and took it as collateral for April and May... I moved oud on the 3rd of March... I really don't know why realty companies are so ******* and clearly not interested in creating good relationships. I have lost alot of money because of them.

I am very unhappy about how unprofessional they are. I've rented from them for 11 months and gave more than 20 business days notice that I would be vacating the premises and cancelling my contract due to me having a baby. I've followed protocol as the contract stated that they needed 20 business days notice. Now they want to charge an early cancellation fee that is the same amount as my rent. They cannot even provide proof that they were advertising the property to find a new tenant.. They also came with stories that for over 20 days the contractors were busy fixing things but there isn't even that much to fix - closet door hinges and a cleaning. To say the least, I've been waiting over 41 days for my deposit to be paid back and they keep coming with different excuses. They will be hearing from my lawyer and the rental housing tribunal. Don't trust these people with your money.

I have a contract with this agency and they gave me three months to pay off my deposit's but after two months the request the whole amount after the amount and the my months rent was paid in full I must say they still want to cancel my contract and only want to pay my rent back. I can't afford to get more money for deposit again and now need to claim squatter rights to have a palace to stay. I phone a laweyr and they said they need to pay back all my money deposit included before they can cancel the contract, the lady's names by Alcus is rude and there names is Denise (accounts) and Marlyn (renting agent). The owner want her brother in the palace

Incredibly unprofessional company and people. I have been going back and forth for 2 weeks to try and view a property that is listed as available to rent. Not only was I never able to view the property but Marilyn never kept me updated or gave any feedback whatsoever. Her only responses were as a result of me having to ask over and over again for feedback, and last minute messages before I was supposed to view telling me I no longer could... and then the property is suddenly unavailable. I wouldn't mind if the tenant decided to stay on, as Marilyn now claims. My issue lies in the complete incompetence and lack of interest in their clients. After reading the other reviews about the company online I see I am not the only one displeased. Incredibly poor service followed by empty excuses. I definitely would not recommend this company at all.

(29/03/2019) me and my husband had a pre-scheduled appointment for the final inspection for the new place we were planning on starting to move in the next day (30/03/2019) to Deo Agathos, Unit 116. There were no words to explain the anger and, even more so, the extreme disappointment we felt when we walked into the yard to see that nothing has been done to make the place livable in any sense. We had previously found out when seeing the place for the first time (05/03/2019), that the unit hasn't been occupied for +/- 8 months. Apart from all the other issues that the apartment had picked up over this long time of not being occupied and receiving any form of maintenance, the unit was crawling with spiders, dead ****roaches, a hornet's nest and even mango flies in the yard. The yard itself was overgrown with bushes, ****s and tree branches covering the entire yard. We were fine with this, as we agreed that the place would be fixed up, made ready and livable by the weekend before 01/04/2019 to give us convenient time for the move. So 24 days passed and on the day of the final inspection, not a single thing had been done. The place is unlivable, hazardous and plainly disgusting in the condition it was and still is in. No person can be expected to be fine with the situation we are put in at this stage. We rushed and used our own leave days to organise and plan everything to be ready for the move on 30/03/2019. We took out a data contract on the unit, organised delivery for appliances and even organised our usual domestic to come in early in the morning to make sure the place is clean and help with the cleaning as we move in. This situation and conditions are unacceptable! There is in no way possible that the apartment and yard will be made safe and livable by 01/04/2019 when our contract starts and therefore this alone is a breach of the contract agreement. Not even to mention the cancellation fees of the newly taken out data contract on the unit, cancellation fees of delivery of appliances, storage fees for the new appliances, compensation for the domestic workers traveling and labor fees, expenses for unexpected living arrangements that need to be made. We requested a full refund because if this is the type of service we receive before we move in we do not want to continue with this sort of company. The companies response was that we are welcome to give notice however we would still be liable for the months rent, we have not even taken up residence yet!!!! They are not willing to even fix the mistake THEY have made, they only shrug their shoulders and say that they are awaiting approval. We were supposed to move in on the 1st of April 2019 and we are still waiting. No compensation proposal have even been made from them, we paid in FULL (Deposit and first months rent). They are in breach of contract and refuses to back our money.
