In December 2025, we were only charged for 15 days of water and electricity because the office closed on the 15th. As a result, December’s bill was about R1,000 less than usual. However, in January they billed us for 45 days to “recover” the difference. I contacted them to ask a simple question: who was notified that this would happen? A basic email to owners would have allowed everyone to plan ahead. After several emails back and forth, their response was that they are not legally required to notify anyone. They also mentioned that if they had known the debit order would go off earlier, they would have notified me — which does not answer my question at all. The issue is not the money. The issue is the complete lack of communication and the inability to answer a straightforward question. Considering that people trust this company with buying and selling properties, this level of communication is very concerning. If they cannot handle something as simple as informing clients about billing changes, I would never feel comfortable trusting them with something as important as selling my property. One simple email to clients could have avoided this entire situation and would have set them apart from most other companies.

Bad service from Desiree van Niekerk I bought a unit at comet oaks in 2023 I paid my levies everything was fine In 2024 we were told that they are moving our levies to IDEALPrepaid service but they will do that once all your levies are paid with on the ALEC massel account . I did that paid everything then my levies were all paid on their Account then I started paying on ideal everything was fine until I got an email form Desiree telling I owe R4200 from January 2025 to march 2025 I called ideal they told me everything is fine on their side I’m not in any arrears. Month end of March I get an email again form Desiree telling me it’s a final demand of payment I ask her for which months because ideal said everything is fine she now say no it’s For 2023 Oct to Dec I must send her all proof I did that sent her all the statements she needs from me she then says I still owe R4200 now she doesn’t know for which months I must check I did that I checked her statement it shows I’ve paid R29000 since 2023 till 2024 July I call her try to explain to her that she screamed at me and hanged the phone the last email she sent was bottom line your levies are in arrears how am I in arrears when she can’t even show me for which months . And how did she move my levies to ideal services if I was in arrears how am I expected to pay for something she also doesn’t know I told her to escalate this to someone higher In her department she hanged on me

I rented an apartment through them. They would disconnect electricity services even if rent is paid in full. They will charge you for repair work that is not your fault. They will charge rent even if you have given notice and moved out. They hand you over for this unoccupied rent charges. They are always unfriendly.

Avoid at all costs. Absolutely useless. Debbie Vergottini and Lindi Mngomezulu were the 2 clowns I had the misfortune of having to suffer. I actually wonder how either of them function as adults in the real world. Communication is exceedingly difficult as neither seem to understand basic English. Questions remain unanswered despite being asked several times. Calls are never returned and voice mailboxes are permanently full. Emails take weeks to be responded to if ever. When responses are received the content is usually 2 or 3 irrelevant words, which then prompts the cycle to repeat. Neither of them understand their own internal accounting systems either. Reports make no sense and they're unable to explain their own figures. As a managing agent, they failed to inform me that my tenants had not paid rent. They made no effort at all to recover funds owed to me. Incidentally, I'm out of pocket as as result of their negligence. Absolutely hopeless. Not worth the single star they've been given here.

This is the worst place to ever rent from. We have been staying here for almost a year now and since we moved in our taps have been leaking, light fittings are broke, tiles are starting to fall, the wall of the sink in the kitchen is rusted away and tirmites coming out, swithing off the power for now reason, the garage wallsare cracked. And worst of all is our toilet is leaking for a week now and they tell their maintenance guy micheal he needs to come fix it and on the day he tells us no Alec Massel is only buying the stuff maybe next week. This is a health and safety risk to our family Sorry this is bull**** to be honest. They are the ****ing worst.

You dare write a negative review about any staff member of Alec Massel, their attorneys will demand that you pay R50 000 within 7 days or face legal action. They don't care about using reviews to get rid of the rot within their company or even use reviews to improve their services. My friend was threatened and had to remove their review. So I give them 5 stars because I am scared of them.

Desiree Van Niekerk and Sabine Seier of Fairway Mansions are commiting theft and fraud of trustees funds. Collusion with suppliers and serbice providers to divert funds from body to themselves. Under unvestigation from SAPS as of Aug 2022. OneTime PTY ltd and Silver Dreams PTY ltd also under scrutiny for irregular business relationships. Fraudsters being caught eating in broad daylight. Desiree also responsible for compromising health and safety if 1 year infant due to non compliance of process.
