So disappointed in the unprofessional and poor service received. We booked 2 rooms, and were only informed as we arrived that it was double booked. We were then given 2 alternative rooms where there was no light in the bathroom, toilet tank cover was missing and was shocked to discover a rat infestation! This is a major health and hygiene concern! The second room was not even clean, untidy, no clean towels which clearly shows that they didn’t service the room after their guests checked out. The reception just always has excuses. Angel Guesthouse is in desperate need of proper hospitality guidelines and training.

I would like to share my dissatisfaction about Angels Guest House in Elgin Road Ferndale. Me an partner booked on the 15 Dec 2024 for 2 nights and paid a premium price of R1400. There was not was in the property since we arrive so my partner decided we go somewhere else the following morning since we could bath, flush toilets, or even drink some water. We had to keep fetching pool dirty water. We then requested a refund for the remaining night. I have been dealing with a gentleman by the name of Dan who had promised on several occasion a call back from his boss. I have been calling but it seems like I'm been avoided. I just to let you know that don't even both to visit that Guest house. I have been visiting this Guest house for a long time and had dealt with a nice gentlemen called Chicco who's no longer there. I'm sure if Chicco was there I would have received my refund promptly. I will be opening a case with the Randburg SAPS.

To make it clear: This is the Angel Guest House in Ferndale, Randburg so not to confuse guests. The apartment was not ready although they said it was. When we checked out and complained - reception said that the plumber did not show up for that apartment (how is that our problem) the bathroom had an incredibly sick smell and while showering, the drains began to clog. Later on that night - ****roaches started coming up the open pipes in the bathroom and into the rest of the apartment. My mum visited the doctor the next day because she fell sick.

Please never ever book this place in Randburg , I’m so traumatised by my experience . I used to book the place about three years ago and all was well . But now it became the worst experience of my life . Firstly when I checked on Monday the 20th stood outside with no one to assist me . Eventually I check in , I get room 7. The minute I get in I can smell a stench , the guy that was assisting me said it was probably the previous guest , I didn’t want to argue or cause a scene but it smelled like a dirty mop. I opened the door for a while and it didn’t change . Their wifi was very ****py so I couldn’t work , at 20:00 it was load shedding and guess what , no generators so you stay in the dark . I ordered food and couldn’t eat In that room it smelled so dirty . I left the next day as the plan was to leave JHB , but I realised I needed to stay another day , I just decided let me give Angel guest house another try. I checked in and everything went smooth , the room was clean , however as I was chilling I saw a big chunky mouse come in , I screamed and jumped on top of the bed called reception and the guy came , I quickly ran out as he came . He checked and couldn’t find anything and told me that I probably saw a shadow as there was no mice , I insisted I saw it and insisted that there isn’t , I begged him for another room because I know what I saw , he took me to 6 and I felt like I was in hilbrow , the shower ceiling was falling off , it didn’t feel safe . I asked for another one, he said it’s not available . I went back to the room and I was so uncomfortable because I know what I saw . But he assured me there’s no mice so I left the whole thing . Two hours later , the mouse resurfaced , I was in my sleepwear, as it was 10pm And I was already in bed .I jumped on top of the bed and again started screaming , I called reception and the same guy came , I ran outside with my short and revealing clothes and was so uncomfortable, I’m like dude I’m not insane please search for that mouse . He searches and eventually gets outside and confirms my story as he saw the ****. He then said I can get another room and assisted me in packing , I was going up and down as a married woman in my short sleepwear . I eventually get a room upstairs , ok this one looks clean , I can finally relax, it has no mirrors , but I was content . No shower door but I’m ok as I had already taken a shower . I then take a late night dump, only to realise that the toilet doesn’t flush , it’s broken . I literally set up all night crying about my experience . Please never ever ever book this place

We booked Accommodation with Angel guest house Feb 2020 traveling April 2020 then March covid happened and we didn't go they told us if we ready to travel we must tell them, now we ready to travel we are told they can't help us because now the hotel it's under new management

Hi I had made a booking with Angel guest house, beach front in February. Immediately when I made my payment I received a call from someone in south Africa asking me to make a payment to a south African fnb account, I did my research and found that indeed, it is indeed their sister company. I made my payment in February, In April I mailed the company back and forth trying to confirm if my payment was received and my booking reserved, after couple of days, communicating with both branches, south Africa and Maputo, they confirmed my stay reservation. On Tuesday before departure, I received a mail from the guest house enquiring on my time of arrival for Friday, I informed them that I am not sure, but will arrive around 7, they replied back, saying they will be awaiting us. On the day of travel, the hotel cancels my reservation, I was half way there already, I tried communicating with them but due to language difficulties, we couldn’t understand each other, I then called the south African branch, and they managed to get the Maputo branch to get us an alternative accommodation. When we arrived at the place they had booked us, we were booked in the ghetto, the place looked very dodgy and unsafe. We couldn’t sleep there. We went to angel beach front guest house, to ask that they get us a proper place. When communicating with the manager, he couldn’t careless, now here we are in a foreign country with no access to any form of communication, we have no place to sleep, there is no way of driving around due to the curfew that was 22:00 . The manager had said they will refund us our money the next day at 8:00. At 8:00 the manager was nowhere to be found and he had instructed the receptionist to inform us that we will get our refund from the south African branch, when we contacted the south African branch they said they not involved. I do not know if I will find my refund, and even if they do not refund me, an apology for the inconvenience and change their ways. We were sadly inconvenienced and ill-treated. There is nothing worse than being in a foreign country stranded with no means of communication.

I visited this guest house on 10 October and was told to make an EFT payment before checking in. I mistakenly made a normal payment (Capitec to Absa) and since it was on a weekend, it would only reflect on Monday and I was going to check out on Sunday. Therefore, Vasco who is the manager on site, advised that I make a second payment, this time as an immediate payment so that it could reflect immediately so that I could be given a room. Then he said they will refund me the first payment once it reflects on their side on Monday. It is now 27 October and I have still not received my refund. Everytime I call Vasco he says that his boss (the hotel owner) says that the money has not yet reflected which is obviously a lie. They are clearly refusing to pay back my money
