Really disappointed with the level of service at reception. I’d suggest that management instate processes during peak times like check ins to ensure that guests who have already checked in and need assistance, receive a good level of service as well. I requested help for play area equipment and was told I had to join the check in queue- despite being a guest already since the previous day. I waited 15min in the check-in queue only to be told once i got to the front that it required a R100 deposit- which could only be paid in cash. There are no notices about this and in fact the person assisting didn’t know about this until he was reminded by another person. I didn’t have cash, they wouldn’t accept a credit card nor have this charged to the room. at Reception and Kabelo (reception manager) were rude and could do with some customer service training. Spoke to Julqndi, guest relations, who tried to assist but also didn’t do a great job- made excuses as opposed to admitting a solution was needed for peak times. overall experience, food was average, facilities minimal and average.

Staying at the resort at the moment, and there has been no power for 48 hours (Tuesday morning to Thursday morning), apart from a brief period of a few hours on Wednesday night. So, no warm showers, no hair dryers for the ladies, no fridges so all the food spoils and one has to go to Reception to charge any electrical devices. If one went camping then one would be prepared to have to rough it but one does not prepare to be totally self-sufficient in terms of electricity at what is supposed to be an upmarket resort. All management says is that they are working on it, but that does not help.

What a Gorgeous place By far the most welcoming and efficient staff always friendly and helpful. Bakubung has the best breakfast buffet with a vast variety to chose from. The rooms are always neat and well cleaned with white linen, stylish spacious units with loads of lovely natural light. The views from certain points of the resort is enough to captivate the mind, day dreaming while watching the wildlife walk by is the best pas time. You will not regret visiting Bakubung at any point in your life all seasons has its beauty. Warmest Regards Margot Wood

The self catering chalets were disgusting, dirty, cutlery not washed properly, the cleaning staff definitely don't do a proper clean. There were tiny worms on the beds, squashed bugs on the mattress that the cleaning staff had just left there and covered it with the mattress protector. Had dinner one night at the restaurant and service was non existant, staff are not trained properly at all. Service by the pool is also terrible, takes over an hour to get one drink. You guys need to train your staff. Get more waiters helping around the pool area during peak times. Self catering chalets need to be cleaned properly everyday. I personally will not stay here again or recommend you guys.

I would just like to commend the excellent service received from George Mokotedi (Deputy General Manager) and Lerato Ngcobo (Timeshare Supervisor) at Bakubung Bush Lodge for their assistance in adjusting my booking as a result of Covid-19 restrictions earlier in the year. As always, my stay at Bakubung from 19-26 November was worth every minute. All staff were professional, friendly and attentive.

I brought family from overseas for a game experience which started off disastrously today. My room I booked was given to another couple with the same surname as me. When I said that I wanted the room I had booked, the lady at reception called her supervisor who phoned the customers that were in our room to ask them if they would be able to move as there was an error in the rooms. They said no as they had already packed out. There were no more rooms similar to what I had booked. It was a "sorry Ma'm" We have ended up taking the room that was not our room just because I didn't want to disappoint my family. Very disappointed that no manager was called to come and speak to me. Sad thing is that I have already booked the same room for August. Get your act together Bakubung.
