There are many reviews on various sites, which I wish I had read beforehand, and most of them say the same things about Bella Donna Rondebosch: They give you a price for a treatment and once its done, they add on a bunch of other charges! I witnessed this happening to another client and then it happened to me. Online reviews indicate that it happens all the time. If you argue, you are intimidated by staff into paying whatever they decide to charge you. It seems that in South Africa, you can get away with doing this. They overbook and when I was there, there was one stylist and three clients. A 90 minute treatment therefore took three hours. I doubt that they are doing treatments correctly. My treatment was pure hell. It was intensely painful and my hair was pulled out constantly. The heating tool was apparently at 230 degrees according to the stylist, which scared me and there was a lot of smoke. When it was close to my scalp it was burning me. Two days later, I am still in pain and have been taking painkillers to cope. They pulled out and broke a lot of my hair and then said its my fault for not letting them trim my hair. I will start to read reviews before I visit businesses. If I had, I could have avoided this nightmare experience.

Just to let everyone know this is for the hairdresser opposite Red Cross Hospital, the manager is Tasneem. I had an appointment for a Black friday special for a botox. I made my appointment for Marencia (the stylist) for 4.30 Friday 29th November. At 4.20 I receive a call from Gakeema advising me that Marencia is not in, I then ask if I could change my appointment for the Saturday and she advised that Marencia is fully booked. I then ask Gakeema if I could come next Friday the 6th Dec and she said it should'nt be a problem but she would have to ok it with the manager. I then sent a whatsapp to Tasneem on the Sat 30th Nov and now comes the problems. Tasneem then refuses to let me have the black friday special for the 6th dec because it was only a black friday special. What I cannot understand is, they were quite happy to attend to the clients on the Saturday with the special because Marencia was not in on the actual black friday. This is the response from Tasneem ''''No you should have just come for your appointment. I'm not aware what Gakeema said to you.. If you had informed me instead of threatening me I would have gladly kept Gakeema's word. I take offence to your threats."' All I said was that when I am happy with customer service, I normally like everyone to know on Hello Peter and also when I receive bad service I like everyone to know. I don't threaten, I just state facts, I am just a client that deserves customer service which really is lacking in this day and age. This manager is very unprofressional. Her staff gives much better customer service......

I would like to share my experience I had with Bella Donna Hair Studio in Klipfontein Rd Rondebosch, opposite Red Cross Hospital. I actually had an appointment with another Hair Salon in the area for a straightener but when I got there they advised me that my hair would break off because of my highlights and did not recommend a Brazilian but a colour. They could have asked me on the phone if I had highlights and not let me go all the way there because I live in the Northern Suburbs. I required my hair to be more manageable and did not want a colour. I then went to Bella Donna Hair Studio and they gladly assisted me with a Brazilian without an appointment on a Saturday at 1pm. The stylist was Marencia who was very helpful and explained each and every step to me. I must admit that I have had Brazilians at other salons but this was by far the best Brazilian I have ever had and it was at a special price of only R499.00. I will definitely be going back to Bella Donna Hair Studio. Thanks for the excellent service !!!

Nothing worse than hair stylists who make assumptions and dont listen to your requirements-and then blame the customer for choosing a colour that goes wrong when I showed them a pic of what i wanted and asked for advice on the colour in the first place. They left dye in my hair for over an hour - the lady who washed my hair said the colour was caramel brown when it was evidently ORANGE! worst experience ever - definitely not clued up in their field!

I am a regular purchaser of Wikideals and Daddy's deals. I saw a special on Daddy's deals at Bella Donna clinic for a Cacau Brazilian blowout for R349.00. (value R900). I live in Bothasig and work in the CBD and saw that they offered appointments up to 9pm which would suit me fine. I also noticed that they mentioned 'this deal is valid for short to medium length hair. A surcharge MAY apply for hair that is longer, please enquire directly with the merchant beforehand'. It doesnt say it WILL, it says it MAY, there is a difference already. I called and spoke to Yeneshnee (not sure if that is the spelling of her name because she refused to spell it to me), not very friendly for the first point of call of a new client. I asked how much more would I have to pay as my hair is about 9cm over my bra. She said that I have to come in for a quote because she does'nt want to say R700 and then when I get there its more. (with a very snotty attitude). Now first of all, I work in the CBD, so must I take an Uber in my lunchtime to get a quote. Surely there must be some kind of indication if your hair is long. Say for example if its past your shoulder but in the middle of your back, it should be ..... extra. If its as long as your by your bum, then it should be ....... extra and never get ****y with a client, especially a potential new client that is working for a newspaper company. I read the previous complaint on hellopeter, where the lady also said she actually went in and was quoted a certain amount and then when they finished, it was 3 times the price. Looks like they lure clients to their salon this way. Not good service at all.........

The common problem for all who take up these treatments is that by the time you've made an appointent for your chosen treatment, you've probably been thinking about it for weeks/months already, so when you decide to purchase the "special" treatment it was not a decision taken lightly. Most people are desperate for help, but cannot afford to pay for professional surgeons.

Then you get to the clinic and realise that

(1) it's not a sterile place

(2)these are not professional women treating you

(3)this "sensitive" and confidential/personal treatment is not given the service it deserves

(4)99% of you feel uncomfortable from the moment you enter the place.

Sadly, in this country, consumer's rights are not taken seriously. By the time you realise you're not happy, it's too late and you are unable to claim your money back.

You need to find the regulatory body for this industry and hand them over.

Good day

I absolutely love Groupon and all the deals they have to offer. About 3 months ago I saw a deal on they site for LLLT (*Low Level Laser Therapy) - Hair re-growth, and enquired about the deal via e mail and received a response the following day. I went to the clinic the following day for an examination and was assisted by Shiyaam, the person who also repsonded to my e mail request. She did an "evaluation" but did not even take down my name or any details, I did not even fill out a form or anything..but well guess I am not the expert!!She gave a brief explanation on how the thereapy will assist. She said that I will have to come in twice a week for a maximum time of 1 hour for best results. I told her that I cannot commit to anything at the moment as I will have to take time off from work, and I would first like to consult my employer before commiting and scheduling an appointment. I informed her on my working hours and the travelling time that it might take to get to the clinic, and she said that she will be willing to wait for one hour later then the normal operating hours to assist me. (Well I would only get there in 1 hour how were you planning on doing the therapy)? So I enquired on the Groupon deal and she said I dont have to purchase it through Groupon, I can purchase with her. So Christy the secretary ringed up R1400 of my credit card for 12 x treatments, and asked me when I would like to start the treatment, and I said I would am not booking anything as per my reasona above. Please take note of the pricelist on the Bella Donna page, it is the same price as the groupon, so it is not a special price on groupon... (makes sense why I was able to pay at the clinic ), please see the attachment. So the following day I phoned the clinic and spoke to Shiyaam and told her that unfortunately I will not be able to do the treatment due to my work responsibilities and I would not like to rush and get there and make things difficult as she would also have to wait at least 3 hours after work cause I would only arrive at 7 and do therapy for 1 hour. She agreed and I asked her how are we going to do the payment reversal?Initailly she said I have to bring my credit card to her facility to do the reversal. I then requested that we do an EFT and she can deduct her cancelaation fee (although I did not schedule and appointments), but had a "agreement" She said she will pay the money into my account....and guess what??I AM STILL WAITING THREE MONTHS LATER!!I have send her mulitple e mails, phoned numerous times just absolutely no response. So I have decided to get some help with getting my money back, all the unnecessary in my opinion. The last conversation I had with her was her laughing at me and at the fact that I said I would not like to matter to be taken to the small claims court.....I have send her an e mail again and hope that she responds this time around or pays me the money that she owes me....PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!

Stonefountain Terrace, 95 Klipfontein Rd, Rondebosch, Cape Town, 7780
